Hydrophobic surfaces of cellulose acetate(CA) fabrics were modified to give more hydrophilicity via $UV/O_3$ irradiation. The surface change of chemical structure and composition were investigated by ATR and ESCA analysis. The UV irradiation treatment caused ester linkage of the acetyl groups to break down and new photo-oxidated products were generated as indicated in subtracted ATR spectra and $O_{1s}/C_{1s}$. Also degree of acetylation of the irradiated CA fabrics decreased with increasing UV energy. It was found that the dyeability of the modified acetate remarkably improved particularly toward cationic and reactive dyes, while disperse dyeability of the modified fabrics decreased noticeably at the irradiated surface. Effect of change in various dyeing conditions including dye concentration, dyeing time and temperature on cationic dyeing were assessed to find optimal dyeing condition. The colorfastness of the acetate fabrics to laundering and rubbing was good enough in spite of surface coloration of the acetate fabrics inevitable in the UV treatment and subsequent dyeing.

PURPOSE: Frailty is a geriatric syndrome that impairs the health and quality of life of older adults. While unintended weight loss is known to be a primary risk factor for frailty, obesity has also been closely associated with frailty. Combined exercise is thought to be an effective way of resolving obesity and frailty, but studies demonstrating the effect of combined exercise on obese frailty are lacking. In this review, we seek to understand the relevant mechanisms by exploring prior studies on obese frailty, and provide the implications of appropriate combined exercise interventions for obese frailty. METHODS: To collect data for this study, we used academic search systems such as Scopus, Google Scholar, PubMed, and Web of Science. The keywords used for the search were a combination of words such as ’obesity’, ‘frailty’, ‘combined or multicomponent exercise’, and ‘older or elderly adults’. RESULTS: The results from the 16 selected articles confirmed that combined exercise reduces body weight, percentage of body fat, and risk of falls. Moreover, it improves muscle strength, balance, and walking function of the obese frail population. CONCLUSIONS: As we have confirmed the positive outcomes on the combined exercise for obese frail older adults, an optimal exercise program needs to be presented. Older adults with obesity are recommended to exercise at least 2-3 times a week during the initial period. Further, they should begin with low-intensity walking, full-body exercise, balance, and flexibility exercises, then gradually increase the exercise volume. Moreover, to facilitate the positive outcomes of physical training and to encourage autonomy and enjoyment of exercise among obese frail older adults, a novel method and an individualized scientific exercise program need to be developed.

The predictive information provided through the electric distribution asset failure prediction model is used as key information for transmission and distribution investment plans in consideration of new and renewable energy, distribution line capacity analysis, or distributed power location analysis. The predictive performance of the distribution asset failure prediction model is affected by the quality of the training data. Also, due to the characteristics of the highly volatile electrical distribution line, the electric distribution asset failure prediction model should maintain the predictive performance at a certain level by performing periodical machine learning on newly generated data. In this paper, we develop an automated system for machine learning data quality management in order to continuously manage machine learning data and efficiently improve electric distribution asset condition prediction model. As a result, our system make it possible to effectively shorten the development time and the cost of the electric distribution asset failure prediction model through the provision of high-quality data for training the prediction model. And the system developed in this paper will be able to improve the accuracy of electric distribution asset condition prediction model.

This paper presents a direct solution scheme for the steady-state analysis of a finite domain that is moving at a constant velocity in an infinite creeping body. The proposed method can obtain steady-state solution directly without any transient calculation. A moving coordinate system that translates with the finite domain is selected. Governing equations and boundary conditions for the finite domain are set up in the moving coordinate system considering the steady-state condition. Since the steady-state condition for creep strain becomes a nonlinear, first-order partial differential equation, the creep strain cannot be eliminated in the equilibrium equation algebraically. Incremental forms of the equilibrium equation and the steady condition with respect to displacement and creep strain are derived. The mixed variational statements of the incremental forms of the equilibrium equation and the creep strain equation are presented. Numerical results of a steady-state, mode-III crack growth problem in creeping materials by the proposed method are presented and compared with transient solutions by previous studies.
술폰산기 자가 조립 단분자막 형성을 이용한 백금 기재 표면의 초친수성 코팅

백금은 주조가 쉽고 잘 부식되지 않으며 다양한 화학 반응의 촉매로 사용되는 물질이다. 이러한 다양한 장점 때문에, 배기가스 필터, 부식 방지 전극, 수술 및 생체 이식 재료 등 다양한 분야에서 백금의 활용도가 높다. 그러나, 여느 금속과 마찬가지로 백금 표면은 물에 대한 젖음성이 그다지 크지 않아, 수계 환경에서 표면의 활용성이 좋지 않다. 이에, 본 연구에서는 백금을 매우 간단하면서도 효과적으로 젖음성을 향상시켜 초친수성(superhydrophilic)으로 만들어주는 코팅 방법을 보고 하고자 한다. Sodium 3-mercapto-1-propanesulfonic acid 용액을 이용하여 백금 표면을 코팅한 결과, 백금 표면의 물에 대한 접촉 각이 10° 이하로 감소하는 것을 확인하였다. 단순 담금 코팅을 통해 만든 sodium 3-mercapto-1-propanesulfonic acid 자가조립 단분자막을 이용해 성공적으로 백금 표면을 초친수성 표면으로 코팅하는데 성공하였다. Platinum (Pt) is an easily moldable, anti-corrosive and also good catalyst in a variety of chemical reactions. Platinum can be used in many fields, however, however, the low wettability of platinum substrate in many platinum-based devices has been made a problem when they contact with liquid state environment. In this study, we report a simple and effective self-assembled monolayer coating method which provides tremendously increased wettability on platinum substrate device by using Sodium 3-mercapto-1-propanesulfonic acid solution. After surface modifications, water contact angle of the surfaces displayed less than 10°, representing that surfaces are successfully coated to be super-hydrophilic surface by simple dip coating method.
