ABSTRACTBy definition, education is a social activity, which is bound to value system of the socity. 'Good socity' is the foremost aim of education in any country. Socialism is the most influential social ideology of 20th century all over the world.This study intended to examine the educational implications of socialism, especially focussed on Marxism. Marxism is, at first political-economic theory, but it stand on unique philosophical assumptions on the world, man, society and history. Therfore we can find the logical connections of education and Marxism. Especially early works of Marx represents humanistic idea.In general, Marxist theories of education has proposed some altanative educational programs, for example, poly-technic education, which is based on the unification of theory and practice, ie, 'knowing that' and 'knowing how'. Many of them is concerned with themes as follow, 'class and education', 'human alienation and education', 'ideology and education', 'reproduction and education'.Though socialism as political ideology has declined for last decade, some critical points that socialistic educational idea present have significant sense for the educational system today in capitalistic socity.
