To investigate the effect of ginseng extracts on the absorption of total tocopherol, dl-$\alpha$-Tocopherol solution and ginseng extract solution were fed by stomach tube to rats and total tocopherol level and lipid peroxide value in serum were determined. The results compared with control were as followed. (1) Critical micelle concentration (CMC) of ginseng saponin was about 1.8% and that of ginseng extract solution in the presence of about 1 mM of dl-$\alpha$-Tocopherol was decreased to 0.14%. (2) The serum total tocopherol level of test group administered ginseng extracts was increased to 1.52 times. (3) The lipid peroxide value of test group administered ginseng extracts was decreased to about halves in serum. dl-$\alpha$-Tocopherol 흡수에 미치는 인삼 추출물의 영향을 규명하기 위하여 dl-$\alpha$-Tocopherol과 인삼 추출물 수용액 일정량을 흰 쥐에 경구 투여하여 혈청에서의 vitamin E 양과 lipid peroxide 양을 비교 정량한 결과는 다음과 같다. 인삼 사포닌 수용액의 CMC는 약 1.8%였으며, 1 mM dl-$\alpha$-tocopherol이 존재할 때 인삼 saponin의 CMC는 0.14%로 크게 저하하였다. 혈청에서의 total tocopherol 양은 dl-$\alpha$-tocopherol과 인삼 추출물은 같이 투여하였을 때 흡수가 증가하여 dl-$\alpha$-tocopherol만을 투여하였을 때 보다 약 1.52배 증가되었으며, lipid peroxide 양은 1/2로 감소되었다.

In order to investigate the effect to antioxygenic substances in Pine Needles on the photooxidation of linoleic acid (linoleic acid 100mg/100ml ethanol) added antioxidants and antioxygenic substances in Pin Needles was irradiated by the tungsten lamp attached with red fitter. The Photo oxidation of linoleic acid (LA) was conformed with Lea method and rhodan method. The following results were obtained: 1. Photooxidation of LA was greatly increased the presence of photosensitizer. However the Photo oxidation of LA without photosensitizer was smoothly increased by the irradiation. 2. The Photo oxidation of LA without irradiation occured quite lately whether photosensitizer was present or absent. 3. Photooxidation of LA under the presence of photosensitizer was inhibited by the addition of dl-α-tocopherol and the acetone fraction of methanol extract of Pin Needles but inhibited by BHT. Photooxidation of LA increased gradually as the addition of BHT increased but decreased gradually as that of acetone fraction increased.
유기물오염도 지표를 이용한 하천수질영향평가 -산업폐수의 방류수질을 기준으로-

우리나라에서 하천에 유입되는 유기물부하의 많은 부분을 차지하는 산업폐수를 대상으로 유기물 오염지표간의 상관성을 조사하였다. 기존 사용되고 있던 COD와 BOD를 현재 많은 국가에서 도입하고 있는 TOC와의 관계를 규명하였다. 업종별 업체별로 그 상관계수에는 큰 차이가 있었으며, 최고의 상관계수는 음식료품 생산업체의 방류수 중에 함유된 COD/BOD/TOC와의 관계에서 나타났다. 각각의 상관계수는 COD/BOD: 0.997, COD/TOC : 0.969, BOD/TOC: 0.990이었다. 상관계수가 낮은 경우도 많았으며, 동일업종이라 하더라도 상관도에는 일관성이 없었다. 그러므로 수질기준 책정 또는 하천수질 모니터링 등에 기존의 유기물질지표의 대체지표로써 TOC를 사용하는 것은 불가능할 것으로 사료된다. 그러나 이들의 상관도가 높은 방류수의 관리에 있어서는 유용하게 사용될 수 있으므로 이들 유기물질 인자간의 상관성을 검토하여 개별적으로 사용하여야 할 것이다. We investigated the relationship of the organic pollutant index in wastewater where the high percentages of an organic load to a water body was found. Measuring of TOC was to identify the relationship with COD and BOD which were used already. The correlation coefficient (r) of TOC/COD, BOD/COD and TOC/BOD were effected by the types of industry such as paper, textile, chemical, food and metal industries. In food industry it was found that the highest correlation coefficient (r) of TOC/COD, BOD/COD and TOC/BOD as 0.967, 0.969 and 0.990, respectively. There is low correlation coefficient in many cases. Hence it was impossible that the use of TOC for the water standard or monitoring instead of COD and BOD directly. However it can be used as alternative index to management a water process in the case of waste water where there was found high correlation coefficient of TOC/ COD, BOD/COD and TOC/BOD. It was sure that the water quality of river body can be protected if we use these the relationship among organic index.
Soybean Lipoxygenase에 의한 Linoleic Acid Hydroperoxide의 생성

Linoleic acid를 기질로 사용하여 soybean lipoxygenase에 의한 과산화 반응을 조사하고 효소 활성에 미치는 인삼 물 추출물과 인삼 saponin류의 영향을 in vitro에서 검토한 결과는 다음과 같다. Linoleic acid에 lipoxygenase의 km 값은 7.4×??M이었다. 인삼의 물 추출물은 lipoxygenase의 활성을 증가시켜 linoleic acid hydroperoxide양을 증가시켰으며,활성도는 최종농도가 ??%일 때 가장 크게 나타났다. 인삼 total saponin, diol계 및 saponin계 saponin은 lipoxygenase의 ??값을 감소 시킴으로써 linoleic acid에 대한 친화력을 증가 시켰으며,이 때 ??값은 diol계 saponin, total saponin, triol계 saponin의 순서로 감소하였다. The peroxidation of linoleic aid by soybean lipoxygenase and the effects of ginseng water extract, ginseng saponins on the activity of this enzyme in vitro were investigated. The ?? value of lipoxygenase for linoleic acid was 7.40×??M. The amount of linoleic acid hydroperoxide was increased by the effect of ginseng water extract which increased lipoxygenase activity, and the activity of this enzyme was the highest when the final concentration of ginseng extract was ??%. The ?? values of lipoxygense were decreased by diol, triol and total saponins which increased the affinity of this enzyme for linoleic acid. And the order of ?? value decreasing effect was diol saponin>total saponin>triol saponin.
