No method of treating avascular necrosis of the femoral head is completely satisfactory. The goal of the treatment is to preserve rather than to replace the femoral head. Early diagnosis permits early treatment which in turn should provide a better chance to save the femoral head. Many authors agreed that core decompression is believed to promote revascularization and relieve hip pain. We had treated 29 patients(45 hips) of avhscular necrosis of femoral head from March 1990 to January 1994 by core decompression. The following results were obtained. 1. Among the 19 patients with avascular necrosis of the femoral head, 26 patients were male, 3 patients were female and the ages ranged fmm 16 to 69 with an average of 40.1 years old. 2. Simple radiograph findings of 45 cases consisted of Stage I in 17 cases, IIA in 12 cases, IIB in 8 cases and III in 8 cases according to modified Ficat and Arlet classification. 3. Magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) were checked in 36 cases, MRI findings revealed the Class A: 20 cases, Class B: 4 cases, Class C: 4 cases and Class D: 8 cases according to Mitchell classification and all of the 7 cases in Stage III who had been checked MRI were Class D. 4. At last follow up, very good and good results were obtained in 100% of Stage I, 75.0% of Stage IIA, 75.0% of Stage IIB and 25.0% of Stage III. So, early core decompression was more effective for avascular necmsis of femoral head. 5. Core decompression is probably effective for treating the early avascular necrosis of femoral head, and relieving the hip pain and delaying the replacement arthroplasty in advanced avascular necrosis of femoral head.
상부요추와 하부요추 단분절 추간판 탈출증 환자의 임상적 특성과 한방치료 효과 비교연구

Objectives Upper lumbar disc herniation (LDH) (L1/2, L2/3) has specific anatomical characteristics and different outcome after conventional treatment compared to lower LDH (L3/4, L4/5, L5/S1). The purpose of this study was to compare the clinical features and effects of korean medical treatment of upper LDH between lower LDH. Methods We retrospectively reviewed the clinical data collected from 121 patients who was had admitted at the Haeundae Jaseng Hospital of Korean Medicine from June 1st, 2014 to August 31th, 2018. The patients who had treated at L1/2, L2/3 level LDH were grouped and compared with those treated at the L3/4, L4/5, L5/S1 level. We reviewed the patient characteristics such as age, the positive rate of Straight Leg Raise Test (SLR test), the presence or absence of previous lumbar surgery. Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) and Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) were evaluated at adimission and discharge. Results Mean age was significantly higher at upper LDH group and positive rate of SLR test was higher at lower LDH group. There was no significant difference of gender and previous lumbar surgery between two groups. Each group had a significant improvement of NRS, ODI scores. But between two groups, there was no significant difference of NRS, ODI scores. Conclusions Upper LDH group was older than lower LDH group. SLR test was useful tool to exclude upper LDH. Korean medical treatment was significantly effective to both upper and lower LDH groups. Further well designed prospective comparative studies are needed. (J Korean Med Rehabil 2018;28(4):43-50)

Background: Nasal eosinophil count is known to be associated with allergen-specific IgE reaction, serum total IgE level, and blood eosinophil count in patients with allergic rhinitis. Objective: To examine the association between nasal eosinophil count and other clinical indices in children with chronic nasal symptoms. Method: The medical records were reviewed retrospectively. The smears of nasal swabs were examined under the light microscope for nasal eosinophil count. The statistical analysis was done in correlation to nasal eosinophil count and clinical indices. Result: The number of patients with a history of allergic diseases other than allergic rhinitis and positive reactions to serum allergen-specific IgE antibodies in the considerable group (52.9% and 92.0%) was significantly higher than those in the absent group (28.8% and 55.1%) (P<0.05). The number of patients with nasal symptom duration of less than 3 weeks in the absent group (31.2%) was significantly higher than that in the other groups (P<0.05). Blood eosinophil counts were significantly higher in the considerable group (491.2±264.0/mm3) than those in the absent group (310.2±293.7/mm3) (P<0.05). Conclusion: Nasal eosinophil counts significantly correlated with a history of other allergic diseases, duration of nasal symptoms, positive reactions to serum allergen- specific IgE antibodies and blood eosinophil count. 인체의 상향식 선택적 주의 집중 시각 기능을 모방한 능동 스테레오 감시 시스템의 개발

In this paper, we propose an active stereo surveillance system with human-like convergence function. The proposed system uses a bottom-up saliency map model with the human-like selective attention visual function to select an interesting region in each camera. and this system compares the landmarks whether the selective region in each camera finds a same region. If the left and right cameras successfully find a same landmarks, the implemented vision system focuses on the landmark. Using the motor encoder information, we can automatically obtain the depth information and resultantly construct a depth map using the depth information. Computer simulation and experimental results show that the proposed convergence method is very effective to implement the active stereo surveillance system.

DC 배전은 디지털 부하가 많은 현대 구내 환경에서 AC배전 대비 전력 변환의 효율성과 운영의 신뢰성 등의 측면에서 최근 각광을 받고 있다. 보편적으로 DC 체계가 지속적으로 변화되는 AC 체계와 비교하여 더욱 안정적이고 좋은 환경을 가지고 있을 것으로 추정되며 새롭게 도입되는 신재생에너지 연계 운영의 측면에서 보다 좋은 통신 환경을 제시할 것으로 기대된다. 본 연구에서는 신재생에너지가 연계된 구내 DC 배전망에서 고조파와 잡음 특성을 측정함으로써, DC 배전망에서 전력 · 통신 융합 운영의 신뢰성과 고려사항을고찰하였다
