Twelve samples from field-aged catalyst were investigated. The conversion performance was measured in a model gas test. The samples taken from the inlet side of the monolith were more deactivated than the corresponding ones from the outlet. However, samples taken from peripheral positions always showed better performance than samples originating from the center. In order to explain observed variations in activity the total surface area(B.E.T) and poisoning of each sample(EDS) were examined. It was concluded that thermal deactivation was mainly responsible for the difference between peripheral and central position while the poisoning due to S, Pb and P had the largest effect on the inlet samples.<br/>

Occupant injuries are always possible in a rollover accidient, one of the major accidients in a bus. Thus the structure of body frame should have sufficient strength to protect passengers under<br/> accidental loads. ECE regulation No. 66 prescribes that survival space shall be preserved in the passenger compartment during and after the structure has been subjected to rollover test.<br/> <br/> Rollover test on a body section was completed according to the regulation. The coordinates of body section before and after rollover were measured, and it was checked that the structure still<br/> complied with the requirements of survival space. Direct measurement by on a bus is difficult because of its large size. Thus photogrammetry by photographing and 3 dimensional digital<br/> modeling was introduced, and the coordinates of each point were measured through this method.<br/>

In this study. the vehicle test and analytic investigation of the 3 kinds of volume of CCC have been carried out. To optimize' the size and location of CCC in a aftertreatment<br/> system. it is necessary to know the characteristics of CCC like as a adsorption efficiency. a capacity of energy storage. etc. To understand these characteristics, the resul ts of FTP75 vehicle test was used. In the mode test. the temperature profiles were recorded with emission results. And the energy balance of CCC was studied with the data.<br/> As a result. the optimum volume and position for CCC in a car was suggested.<br/>
