Torsion of the lipomatous appendage of the falciform ligament is extremely rare, and most patients have previously been treated surgically. We reported a case of torsion of the lipomatous appendage of the falciform ligament in a child, diagnosed by ultrasound (US) and computed tomography (CT) and treated conservatively. Real-time US and CT can aid an accurate diagnosis, and follow-up US can aid in making appropriate decisions for conservative treatment.

Although endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is an effective modality for diagnosis and treatment of biliary and pancreatic diseases, the risk for procedure-related complications is high. Hemorrhage is one of major complications of ERCP. Most ERCP-associated bleeding is primarily a complication related to sphincterotomy rather than diagnostic ERCP. We are reporting a case of massive hemobilia due to hepatic arteriobiliary fistula caused by guidewire-associated injury during ERCP, which was successfully treated with transarterial embolization of the hepatic artery.
Development of Coronary Vasospasm during Adenosine-Stress Myocardial Perfusion CT Imaging

Adenosine is a short-acting coronary vasodilator, and it is widely used during pharmacological stress myocardial perfusion imaging. It has a well-established safety profile, and most of its side effects are known to be mild and transient. Until now, coronary vasospasm has been rarely reported as a side effect of adenosine during or after adenosine stress test. This study reports a case of coronary vasospasm which was documented on stress myocardial perfusion CT imaging during adenosine stress test.
국내 HIV - 1 분리주에 대한 zidovudine의 저항성 연구

To examine AZT resistance of HIV-1 isolates from AZT treated or untreated Korean, several biological characteristics such as syncytium formation, HIV-1 reverse transcriptase activity and the p24 antigen production in MT-2 cells infected with 4 HIV-1 isolates were determined. As controls, we tested HIV-1 HTLV-IIIB and pre-drug isolate as AZT susceptible strains, in addition to HIV-1 RTMC/MT-2 and post-drug isolate as AZT resistant strains. When the inoculum size of HIV-1 was 300 TCID /well and 100 TCID /well, the AZT susceptibility of AZT untreated HIV-1 isolates 8806 and 9571 were similar to that of HIV-1 HTLV-IIIB and AZT-susceptible HIV-1 strains. When we evaluated AZT resistance of isolates HIV-1 8812 and 9113 treated with AZT for 36 months by observation of syncytium formation, HIV-1 8812 showed resistance simillar to that of HIV-1 RTMC/MT-2 strain forming syncytium up to AZT 1pg/ml, and HIV-1 9113 showed resistance identical with that of AZT- esistant HIV-1 strain which formed syncytium up to AZT 10 pg/ml. Especially, when we evaluated AZT resistance by HIV-1 reverse transcriptase activity and the p24 antigen production, HIV-1 isolates 8812 and 9113 showed much higher resistance (>10 200 fold) compared with HIV-1 RTMC/MT-2 and AZT-resistant HIV-1 strain.
한국인에서 분리된 Human immunodeficiency virus 주의 (株) 성상 분석

The biological characterization and the property of 4 Human Immunodeficiency Virus(HIV) isolates from HIV infected persons in Korea were analyzed and compared with reference HIV strain. They were designated as NIH 1, NIH 2, NIH 3, and NIH 4. When the reference HIV strain and isolates were inoculated into MT-2 cells, multinucleated giant cells were observed around 48 hours after infection. As the results of immunofluorescence assay in MT-2 cells, the viral antigen was detected at 18 hours postinfection in the reference HIV strain, at 24 hours in NIH 2 and NIH 3, and at 48 hours in NIH 1 and NIH 4. When the rate of HIV replication and cell lysis were exarnined in the MT-4 cells using the MTT assay, the reference HIV strain was more rapid than 4 isolates. Among 4 isolates, the NIH 1 replicated rapidly and others didnt show any difference. In the measurement of p24 antigen using HIV-1 p24 antigen capture ELISA, the amount of p24 antigen produced by NIH 1 in the MT-2 cells was calculated as about 670pg/ml, NIH 3 was about 640pg/ml, reference HIV strain and NIH 2 were about 600pg/ml, and NIH 4 was about 340pg/ml. When using the MT-4 cells, that of NIH 1 was about 1,290pg/ml, NIH 3 was about 1,260pg/ml, NIH 2 was about 730pg/ml, and reference HIV strain and NIH 4 were about 680pg/ml. For the production of p24 antigen by the reference HIV strain, the largeamount of p24 antigen was produced early and was maintained afterward continously because of cell lysis. In the MT-2 cells, reverse transcriptase activity of NIH 1, NIH 3 and NIH 4, and NIH 2 were about 6 x 10' cpm, 4 x 10'cpm, and 3 x 10'cpm respectively. The order of which reverse transcriptase activity reached the peak after culture was reference HIV strain, NIH 4, NIH 3, NIH 2, and NIH 1. In conclusion, the infectivity, replication rate, and cell lysis of reference HIV strain were more rapid than those of isolates. And the viral productivity of NIH 1 and NIH 3 was higher than reference HIV strain and other isolates.
