Congenital intestinal atresia is a relatively rare lesion, occuring in one of 5,000 births. Fetus with congenital intestinal atresia, which often allows a good quality of life after the postnatal surgical correction, largely benefit from the serial prenatal sonographic examination. We experienced 2 cases of jejunal atresia diagnosed by prenatal ultrasonography, so we present with brief reviews of the literatures.
Fabrication and Electrical Properties of PZT/BFO Multilayer Thin Films

Lead zirconate titanate (PZT)/ bismuth ferrite (BFO) multilayer thin films have been fabricated by the spin-coating method on Pt(200 nm)/Ti(10 nm)/SiO_2(100 nm)/p-Si(100) substrates using BiFeO_3 and Pb(Zr_(0.52)Ti_(0.48))O_3 metal alkoxide solutions. The PZT/BFO multilayer thin films show a uniform and void-free grain structure, and the grain size is smaller than that of PZT single films. The reason for this is assumed to be that the lower BFO layers play an important role as a nucleation site or seed layer for the formation of homogeneous and uniform upper PZT layers. The dielectric constant and dielectric losses decreased with increasing number of coatings, and the six-layer PZT/BFO thin film has good properties of 162 (dielectric constant) and 0.017 (dielectric losses) at 1 kHz. The remnant polarization and coercive field of three-layer PZT/BFO thin films were 13.86 μC/cm^2 and 37 kV/cm respectively.

The catalytic cracking of p-cumylphenol, a major component of the byproduct for the manufacturing process of phenol was studied over various zeolites with different acidities and pore structures. p-Cumylphenol was decomposed to phenol and α-methylstyrene, however, α-methylstyrene was consecutively converted to various materials such as indenes and its dimers. With installing a distiller on the batch reactor to separate α-methylstyrene from the reactor, the yield of α-methylstyrene was considerably improved. Conversion of p-cumylphenol was high on the catalyst with a large amount of acid site. The consecutive conversion of α-methylstyrene was suppressed on the zeolite catalyst with small size pores. The catalyst with large size pores showed high conversion irrespective of a small loading amount of catalyst, while the product yield was low due to additional conversion of α-methylstyrene within its large pore.

In this study, PZT(80/20)/BFO heterolayered thin film were fabricated by sol- gel method. which were spin-coated onto the Pt/Ti/SiO₂/Si substrate alternately using PZT(80/20) and BFO metal alkoxide solutions. With increasing the number of layer, the dielectric properties of thin films were improved. The relative dielectric constant and the dielectric loss of the 6-layer thin film were about 482 and 0.033%, respectively.

To develop automobile parts, the unsaturated polyester based matrix resin(PR)/reinforcement(randomly oriented chopped E-glass fiber, GF) composites were prepared using sheet molding compound(SMC) compression molding. The effects of GF length(0.5, 1.0 1.5 and 2.0inch)/content (15, 20, 25, 30wt%) and number of ply(3, 4 and 5) on the specific gravity and mechanical properties of PR/GF composites were investigated in this study. The optimum length of GF was found to be about 1.0inch for achieving improved mechanical properties(tensile strength and initial modulus). The tensile strength and initial modulus of composites increased with increasing GF content up to 30wt%, which is favorable content range for SMC. The specific gravity, tensile strength/initial modulus, compressive strength/modulus, flexural strength/modulus and shear strength increased with increasing the number of ply up to 5, which is the maximum number of ply range for SMC. The effectiveness of ply number increased in the flexural strength > shear strength > compressive strength > tensile strength.
