We measured transmittance of an amorphous As₂S₃ thin film for visible region (450-820 nm) by using a spectrophotometer. The interference effect by multiple by multiple reflection of thin film makes periodic oscillations between a maxima and minima value to the spectrum of the transmittance by comparing the thin film theory with the experimets. We calculated the refractive index n and the thickness d of the amorphous As₂S₃ thin film.

Volume phase gratings in photorefractive crystals have nonuniform amplitude and phase due to energy exchange by the writing beams within the material. For a read-out beam of arbitrary intensity, the diffraction efficiency is a nonlinear function of reading beam intensity and depends on the polarization of writing beams as well as the read-out beam polarization. It is found that the diffraction efficiency represents a nonreciprocity with respect to the polarization of the writing and reading beams. These polarization dependences of photorefractive gratings are studied here.

We designed and fabricated a reflection-type holographic interference filter in a dichromated gelatin film. The relationship between center wavelength and recording angles was derived by wsing coupled wave theory in detail. The variations of center wavelength of the filter were predicted theoretically measured in terms of recording angles.

We studied on the electro-optic properties of the photopolymer-liquid crystal composite(polymer-dispersed liquid crystal: PDLC), which has a large refractive index modulation and is controlled by applied AC electric field. The hologram formation kinetics of the HPDLC and also investigated by changing various physical parameters: liquid crystal concentration, grating spacings, and applied fields.
Dichromated Gelatin 박막에서의 위상 홀로그램

The Simplified method for making dichromated gelatin hologram is presented. Starting with Agfa 8E75HD plates, the complete processing time is just 2 hours and high diffraction efficiency over 80% is obtained.
위상형 CGH(computer generated hologram)를 이용한 비구면 파면 및 Bessel beam 제작

We have designed and fabricated computer generated holograms(CGH) to generate ashepheric wavefront and Bessel beam. Designed CGH is recorded onto the photopolymer which is used as a volume hologram material mating CGHOE(computer generated holographic optical element). To investigate properties of fabricated CGHOE, intensities of Bessel beam are measured as a function of propagation(z-axis) and transverse (x-axis) distances.
