In general, the direct experimental approach to study machining processes is expensive and time consuming, especially when a wide range of parameters are included: tool, geometry, materials, cutting conditions, etc. The aim of this study is to verify the effectiveness of finite element method for orthogonal cutting process by comparing the simulated cutting forces with measured results. Two commercialized finite element codes $AdvantEdge^{TM}$ and Deform-$2D^{TM}$ have been used to simulate the cutting forces in orthogonal cutting process. In this paper, estimated cutting and feed force components are compared with experimental results for different two materials. As a result, it has been found that FEM simulation is effective for understanding and predicting the orthogonal cutting process although some improvements on friction model and remeshing process are needed.
장애인 차량을 위한 탈착식 시트의 자동 위치감지시스템에 관한 연구

본 논문에서는, 스스로 차량에 탑승하기 어려운 장애인을 대상으로 하는 장애인용 차량의 탈착식 시트에 관한 연구 내용을 다루었다. 탈착식 시트는 운전석의 시트가 휠체어 역할을 하는 시트를 의미하며, 본 연구는 이 시트가 차량에 자동으로 도킹하는 시스템에 관해 다루고 있다. 현재 출시되어 있는 탈착식 시트의 경우에는 주로 탑승자가 조이 스틱 등을 이용하여 수작업으로 도킹을 시도하고 있지만 이것은 불편한 장애인의 도킹을 매우 어렵게 하는 원인이 되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 차량 앞에있는 휠체어와의 위치를 자동으로 감지하고 측정하는 방법에 대해 기술하였다. 차량의 문에 도착해 있는 휠체어의 위치를 자동으로 감지하기 위해 리프트에 두 개의 초음파센서를 부착하였다. 초음파센서는 휠체어 뒷면에 부착된 감지판의 위치와 그 거리를 측정하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 휠체어와 리프트의 자동 도킹을 위한 세부적인 절차와 방법을 제시하였고, 그 정밀도도 분석함으로써 실질적인 활용이 가능함을 입증하였다. This paper deals with the development of automatic docking system for the detachable mobile seat(DMS) of a vehicle for the handicapped people who are unable to ride in a car by oneself. Although such vehicles for the handicapped already exist, there is a need for a vehicle with improved docking method for convenience. This paper presents an automatic docking system using two ultrasonic sensors. In order to identify the precise location of the mobile seat in front of the vehicle door, the capability of ultrasonic sensor for detecting the part edge is analyzed and mathematical modeling is performed to measure the exact location of the side edge. And also, this paper presents an automatic docking method using this sensor system and the car lift which is provided in the inside of the car.
터치 기반 블록 조립 애플리케이션에서의 손쉬운 조립을 위한 Snap Point 기법

세계 완구시장에 있어서 조립형 완구는 높은 점유율을 차지하고 있고 많은 인기를 얻어왔다. 특히 Lego와 같은 조립형 블록은 최근 마이크로 블록이라는 이름으로 다시 유행하고 있으며 PC용 프로그램 뿐만 아니라 웹 사이트에서도 가상 블록 조립 환경을 마우스 사용에 특화된 인터페이스로 제공하고 있다. 하지만 모바일 기기의 터치 인터페이스에서 마우스에 특화된 인터페이스를 사용한 블록 조립은 매우 제한적일 수밖에 없다. 본 논문에서는 모바일 기기 중에서도 태블릿의 터치 인터페이스를 사용하여 빠르게 자신이 원하는 모양을 만들 수 있는 가상 블록 조립 환경에 대하여 설명한다.

The high volatility of the ship price makes the ship investment very risky business. for that reason the tool which can monitor and evaluate the market risk is highly needed to manage the risk of the ship investment. The Value at Risk(VaR) is an appropriate method for such purpose. because it can compare the various port-folios with the single barometer. and so the VaRs of the ship-portfolios are tested and verified in this study. The ship-portfolios of the carefully selected 4 shipping companies were empirically tested by 6 types of GARCH models and Historical simulation. and eventually the effective VaR has been derived. The result show that EGARCH is the best appropriate method for VaR of the ship portfolio in the univariate GARCH models and DCC-EGARCH is the best in the multivariate GARCH The study results imply that first, the profit rate of ship portfolio has also volatility cluster, leverage effect, fat tail characters like the finance asset. second the ship price volatility can be monitored and evaluated by the VaR and the comparison of the risk by the one common barometer in the various ship portfolios is possible.

자동차용 비대칭 스트라이커의 순차이송금형 및 공정 개발에 관한 연구

For high production rate of parts requiring multiple operations such as punching, blanking, or other operations are generally done with progressive dies. However, progressive die is generally limited to use for sheet metal forming due to the technical difficulties in rod or bulk material. This study proposes a new technique of progressive die and forming process for asymmetric automotive door striker, which is conventionally manufactured with separate tandem processes using solid rod. In order to design forming process and die, FEM simulation was performed to divide proper intermediate processes and analyze its formability. As a result, Forming processes were divided into 3 stages with upper and side punches and also, workpiece feeding and location mechanism was designed and manufactured in this study. Finally, forming tryouts were carried out by using the manufactured progressive die to verify the forming quality and productivity.

In most multi-stage forging processes, the die spotting process or alignment of punch and die depends on the manual operation. It results a very tedious and inefficient procedure, thus the proper measurement system is needed to improve productivity and accuracy. This paper proposes a measurement system for alignment of die and punch which has a cylindrical holder, and describes the system concepts using 3 eddy-current displacement transducers and precise measurement jig. In order to apply this measurement system to real situations, the measuring procedures and system calibration method, etc. are proposed. Finally, the accuracy and productivity of this measurement system are investigated in this paper.
