Although information technology has been developed fast, large amount of machine printed document images are not properly handled due to immature document layout analysis techniques. Previous research has focused on character recognition itself to improve character recognition accuracy. Recently, however, some efforts are made to analyze complex document layout automatically. In this paper, we propose document layout analysis and understanding method for various Hangul document images. Skew detection is performed using projection profile and connected component layout information. Top-down and bottom-up methods are combined to analyze document layout. After text region and non-text region determination, table is further processed to extract row, column, and cell position. We got very high performance for skew correction, zone detection, and table processig from experiments with various Hangul document images.

Objectives: The importance of MSDS is emphasized for communicating hazardous information due to the increase in the types and usage of chemical substances. The purpose of this study is to assess the reliability of MSDS by collecting and examining paint thinners commercially available in South Korea. Methods: Twenty-five paint thinners were purchased at paint stores and the provision of MSDS was checked. Quantitative and qualitative analysis was performed on the chemical constituents of the thinners using GC-MSD and GC-FID. Reliability was evaluated by the MSDS collection rate for the paint thinners and calculating the rate of matching between laboratory analysis results and the contents and composition of chemical constituents given in the MSDS. Results: Unlike a study conducted in 2006, MSDS were provided for all 25 thinners. As a result of qualitative analysis using GC-MSD, 104 chemical substances were detected. The substances with the highest detection rate were identified in the order of toluene, butyl acetate, acetone, xylene, and ethyl benzene. A component matching rate of 41% was found by comparing the differences between the number of substances detected in laboratory testing and the number of substances listed in the MSDS. Benzene, a carcinogen not listed in the MSDS, was detected in two thinners produced by a small company. The detected benzene contents were 0.039 and 0.040%. When benzene is used, it should be strictly handled according to the Industrial Safety and Health Act. However, since it is not listed on the MSDS, it is judged that benzene was not being managed as a carcinogen in the workplaces where it is used. Conclusions: Since the reliability of MSDS, which play an important role in hazard communication, was evaluated to be low, it is necessary to systematically and continuously secure this reliability. In particular, carcinogens should be managed more strictly.
주거공간 거실에서의 휴식행위에 적합한 조명환경 평가 실험

본 연구는 주거공간 중 다양한 행위들이 행해지는 거실공간을 대상으로 조명의 위치와 국부조명을 중심으로 휴식행위에 관한 주관적 평가를 실시하였다. 그 결과 피험자 평가는 선호감과 눈부심의 두가지 요인으로 묶을 수 있었다. 전반조명은 사용하지 않고 국부조명을 사용하는 것이 가장 좋은 것으로 나타났으며, 국부조명 색온도는 3,000K에서 가장 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 또한 다운라이트의 사용여부는 전반 조명의 밝기 정도와 관련이 있어 휴식행위에서의 밝기감이 매우 중요한 것으로 나타났다.

In this paper, we would like to introduce an actual vehicle MDPS temperature estimation method that can reduce the cost and schedule of vehicle evaluation while increasing the consistency of the heat-resistant guaranteed temperature verification method. Based on the thermal temperature of the actual vehicle through temperature simulation, the endurance & current profile of the existing finished vehicle and the endurance current profile of the vehicle to be developed are compared to determine the distribution of the temperature of the developed vehicle compared to the existing vehicle during actual MDPS installation and steering. It can be predicted, and based on that information, it is possible to designly judge whether or not the thermal resistance temperature of the part is marginal.
