This study aimed to provide a fundamental summary of the caprine and ovine muscle fiber characteristics. The goat and sheep industries have been experiencing growth due to their adaptability to market changes and the diversity of their products. Muscle fibers, which represent the basic unit of muscle and an essential factor in assessing meat quality, can be classified into several types by their contractile and metabolic properties. Species, breeds, muscle type, age, and sex are the main factors affecting muscle fiber characteristics. While the effects of these factors on muscle fiber characteristics of major livestock species (cattle, pigs, and chickens) are widely studied, goats and sheep (the main meat sources among minor livestock species) have not fully studied. Understanding muscle fiber characteristics will help to development technologies for regulating goat and lamb meat quality. In the present study, the muscle fiber characteristics of the caprine and ovine skeletal muscles assessed in previous studies were summarized. In addition, the effects of breed, sex, age, and muscle type on the caprine and ovine muscle fiber characteristics were assessed using the results of previous studies. Specific in-depth studies on muscle fiber characteristics and their relationship to the quality characteristics of goat and lamb meat are required. These studies will help to extend shelf-life and retard deterioration in meat quality during storage or freeze-thawing of goat and lamb meat.
PBL(Problem-Based Learning)수업의 학습효과 분석

본 연구는 21세기 세계화, 전문화 시대에 능동적으로 적응·대처할 수 있는 교육서비스 전문가 양성을 목표로 하는 사회복지과(지역사회복지론), 유아교육과(교육심리학), 청소년교육복지과(여성교육개론)의 교과목에 PBL을 적용하여 문제해결능력, 자기주도학습능력, 협력학습능력 등의 학습효과를 증진시키는데 목적을 두었다· 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 문헌조사, 전문가자문, 설문조사, 성찰일지 분석 등의 연구방법을 실시하였고, 연구결과는 다음과 같다· 첫째, 문제해결능력에서 PBL 학습효과가 나타났다· 특히 문제해결능력의 하위요소 중 ‘자신감 및 자기통제능력’에서 증진효과가 있었고, 학습자의 성찰일지 분석 결과 과제를 수행하면서 과제수행에 대한 동기, 과제수행방법 등 전반적인 이해가 증진되는 것으로 나타났다· 둘째, 자기주도적 학습능력 향상에 어떤 영향을 미쳤는지 분석한 결과, 설문조사에서는 긍정적인 효과가 나타나지 않았으나 성찰일지 내용을 분석한 결과 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다· 즉, 학생들은 PBL 수업을 통해 스스로 교육 내용을 고민하고, 탐구하거나 자료 수집 범위를 확대하는 등 학습자 중심의 자기주도성 향상을 볼 수 있었다· 셋째, 협력학습에서 PBL 학습효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다· 팀별과제능력의 하위요소인 과제관련과 협력관련 능력 모두에서 증진효과가 있었고, 성찰일지를 분석한 결과 문제해결과정에서 팀별로 함께 활동함으로써 협동심, 배려, 믿음, 친밀감, 성취감, 의사소통 증진 등 긍정적 태도가 나타났음을 확인할 수 있었다· 결론적으로, PBL 수업방식이 기존의 강의식 수업방식의 한계를 보완하는 수업으로 활용될 필요가 있으며, 더 나아가서 다른 학과에서도 PBL 수업을 적용하여 그 효과를 검증하는 연구 및 그 외의 교수전략, 요인분석 등 다양한 연구가 요구된다· The purpose of the study was to investigate educational effects and enhance students` learning abilities of problem solving, self-directed learning and collaborative learning by applying PBL(Probelm-Based Learning) model· The study was conducted with three classes of Department of Social Works(Introduction to Community Welfare), Department of Early Childhood Education(Educational Psychology), Department of Youth Education and Development(Women`s Studies)· Research methods was used literature review of PLB, a survey to identify students` achievement, and analysis of journal writings that learners had done· Results were follows· First, PBL model showed learning outcomes on problem-solving, especially in ‘confidence and self-control management,’ ‘the motivation of performance,’and ‘perception of assignments·’ Second, abilities of self-directed learning were improved in learners` oriented attitude· Third, PBL outcomes in collaborative learning also were showed positive attitudes in team work, communication skills, and intimacy· In conclusion, PBL model could be applied in order to overcome limitations of traditional teaching methods and enhance educational effects·
