Transient charging and discharging currents as well as space charge limited currents have been measured in biaxially stretched poly(vinylidene fluoride) film under various poling fields and temperatures. At low temperatures and short poling times, the I-V characteristics showed shallow trap behavior. When the current values extrapolated to the infinite time, the I-V characteristics indicate that the distribution of the trap energy levels is uniform or very broad. The abnormal suppression of current at higher poling voltages and the high discharge rate observed also in the same voltage range are attributed to the morphological changes due to dipole reorientation.

In this study, the procedures for the preliminary design of the turbo-shaft engine for the light multi-purpose helicopter are established. The engine specifications are determined through the performance analysis on the on-design and off-design conditions by the use of simulation program. In addition, the effect of humidity on the engine performance is examined by considering the change of the gas properties and characteristic maps due to moisture contents. The calculation results show that the engine power is reduced by the existence of moisture in working fluid.

The aim of this study is to provide a method to apply the electronic data standard for electronic transmission of individual case safety reports (ICSRs) in Korea. In Korea, it is necessary to implement the ICH E2B guideline and the ICH MedDRA guideline within 5 years after approval to join ICH members in November 2016. With the spread of the internet network and the IT infrastructure worldwide, Data standardization has been developed not only by major countries such as the US, Europe, and Japan, but also by around the world. In addition, it is necessary to strengthen voluntary or mandatory reporting from consumers, pharmaceutical companies, and healthcare professionals by following the standardized electronic information exchange system for international sharing. This can be an opportunity to overcome limitations on the quality and quantity of information available at the time of authorization. Based on the data system applying the electronic standards, it is possible to search and prevent Korean inherent side effects by using the collected and analyzed information. The exchange of information of standardized data will enable regulatory authorities to communicate with data from different structure as well as many other countries with a single common document. We first reviewed the necessity of development of data standard for drug safety reporting. The ICH E2B guideline adopted as an international standard has been analyzed and the need for introduction into Korea has been examined. In major ICH regions like US, EU and Japan, regional implementation guides for E2B (R3) guideline were prepared and implemented in accordance with the guide. The guides and the status of these countries were compared and analyzed. Regional implementation guide for introducing ICH E2B, an international standard, in Korea was made which was reflecting domestic regulations such as pharmaceutical safety management regulations.

Bogie frame of the electric car is an important structural member for the support of vehicle loading. In general, more than 25 years" durability is necessary. A lot of study has been carried out for the prediction of the structural integrity of the bogie frame in experimental and theoretical domains. The objective of this paper is to estimate the structural integrity of the bogie frame of an electric car, which is under the running test. F.E. analysis of bogie frame was performed to find locations for attaching strain gage and to estimate static stress. Dynamic stress were measured by using strain gage in order to evaluate the structural integrity of the bogie frame.

Biomarkers are likely to be important in the study of various pulmonary diseases for many reasons. Research efforts in developing biomarkers and surrogate endpoints of lung diseases have resulted in the identification of new risk factors and novel drug targets, as well as the establishment of treatment guidelines. Government agencies, academic research institutions, diagnostic industries, and pharmaceutical companies all recognize the importance of biomarkers in new drug development and advancing therapies to improve public health. In drug development, biomarkers are used to evaluate early signals of efficacy and safety, to select dose, and to identify the target population. Identification of suitable end points not only would help investigators design appropriate clinical trials but would assist clinicians in caring for this patient population. Though the area of pulmonology has received much attention in the past decades, it still lags behind with regard to the development of biomarkers, particularly those of health effects and susceptibility. This review critically summarized several biomarker researches such as Evaluation of COPD Longitudinally to Identify Predictive Surrogate End-points (ECLIPSE) study with objectives of identifying the parameters that predict disease progression of COPD, as well as biomarkers that may serve as surrogate end-points.
