Objective : In recent years, the neurosurgeon's role in managing cerebrovascular diseases (CVD) has becomes rapidly challenged and overlapped with other specialists. Furthermore, the patterns of CVD and patient recruitment have also changed. We conducted a retrospective study regarding the practical trends of CVD with reference to the management paradigms at our institute. Method : We reviewed all the available data, including the annual reports, the daily department records, the medical records and the radiographic films of the CVD patients who had been admitted to our Neurosurgery Department during the five years between Jan. 2004 and Dec. 2008. Results : The total numbers of CVD operations showed a slight initial increase, but then they remained steady for the latter 3 years. The number of cases of non-angiomatous hemorrhage has been relatively steady, regardless of surgery. The total numbers of treated aneurysms increased, but the main body of this increment was attributed to the initiation of endovascular treatment and increased identification of unruptured vascular lesions. Vascular malformations were sustained with a small number of cases due to referring them to other institutes for radiosurgery, except for the cases that required urgent hemorrhagic evacuation. Conclusion : Hemorrhagic CVDs tended to decrease either due to increasing identification before rupture or shifting such patients into a large volume hospital. The increasing awareness of ischemic CVD, the early detection of unruptured aneurysms, and the separation of medical responsibilities from neurologists have all pushed neurosurgeons to make treatment plans in a more cooperative fashion, instead of a competitive way. Neurosurgeons should be furnished with several revolutionary surgical options to widen their scope of managing patients with CVD. (Kor J Cerebrovascular Surgery 12(2):91-97, 2010)

Objective : Cerebrovascular and cardiovacular diseases are the main causes of death in patients with chronic renal failure (CRF) and who are undergoing hemodialysis. We investigated the risk factors for the development of intracerbral hemorrhage (ICH) in this population. Methods : We retrospectively reviewed a total of 53 patients who underwent hemodialysis for CRF and who developed ICH. The patients?demographics, including gender and age, the duration of the hemodialysis, the initial Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) score, the underlying causes of CRF, the past medication history, the location and amount of hemorrhage and the therapeutic modality for ICH were analyzed. Results : The development of ICH significantly increased in the old age patients (≥ 65 years), the patients with a prolonged history of hemodialysis (≥ 5 years) and the patients with hypertension (p < 0.05). However, gender, anemia (hemoglobin ≤ 8.0 g/dl) and the initial systolic blood pressure (≥ 180 mmHg) were not significantly correlated with the occurrence of intracerebral hemorrhage in the hemodialyzed patients. Conclusion : The present study suggests that the development of ICH in patients with CRF is increased in the old age patients, the patients with a prolonged history of hemodialysis and the medically co-morbid patients. To avoid this disastrous complication, we should try to minimize the modifiable risk factors of hemorrhagic stroke in CRF patients. (Kor J Cerebrovascular Surgery 12(2):70-75, 2010)
보정된 X-색도 좌표를 이용한 색온도 변환 시스템의 성능 개선 및 구현

In this paper, we propose the color-temperature conversion system with compensated X-chromaticity coordinate. It uses a linear regression to improve the error of color-temperatue calculation in conventional systems. It also extend the color-temperature range from 1,667K to 25,000K to provide a wider color-temperature range. We show the effectiveness of the proposed method by comparing the performance of the proposed method with those of the Robertson's and the existing methods. The proposed method is experimetally verified by displaying the results on a TV system through the Xilinx FPGA XCV2000E-BG560. 본 논문은 보정된 X-색도 좌표를 이용한 색온도 변환 방법을 제안하고자 한다. 제안된 방법은 기존의 색온도 변환 시스템에서 문제점인 색온도 계산값의 오차를 줄이기 위하여 회귀방정식을 사용한다. 또한, 광범위한 영역에서 색온도 변환을 실현하기 위하여 색온도 영역을 1,667K에서 25,000K까지 확대하고자 한다. 제안한 방법은 Robertson 방법 및 기존의 색온도 계산 방법과 성능의 비교?분석을 통하여 타당성을 보이고자 한다. 본 논문에서 제안된 방법은 하드웨어로 설계하여 Xilinx FPGA인 XCV2000E-BG560를 통하여 TV 시스템에서 실시간으로 동작을 검증한다.

The color temperature model is based on the relationship between the temperature of a theoretical standardized material, called a black body radiator, and the energy distribution of its emitted light as the radiator is brought to increasingly higher temperatures, measured in Kelvin(K). The color-temperature conversion system is equipment that was converted the color-temperature of input image into user-wanted color-temperature in multimedia display equipment. This system was mentioned in reference^(1-4). This system operates using the relations between chromaticity coordinators of input image and user-wanted color temperature. In this paper, when users determine mapping of color-temperature that they want, the problem that the unnatural image occurred is modified, and the new color-temperature mapping method of the direction that users prefer is added. The proposed method is verified by fLCD-TV system using Xilinx Virtex FPGA XCV2000E-6BG560 that has 1344*806 resolution and requires a high-speed 65MHz operation.
Non-restoring Division 알고리즘을 이용한 실시간 나눗셈기의 하드웨어 최적화에 관한 연구

This paper proposes the optimized hardware design of realtime divider using the non-restoring division algorithm. We also compare the non-restoring divison algorithm with the restoring division algorithm accroing to the pipeline stage. The proposed non-restoring divider reduced 25% in the hardware complexity, compared with the restoring algorithm. This propsoed divider is designed by using the VHDL and synthesized into gates by using the Synopsys synthesizer with the Samsung 0.35um STD90 library.
무선 LAN을 위한 Radix-4 IFFT/FFT 모듈의 구현

In this paper, we implement the IFFT/FFT(Inverse Fast Fourier Transform/Fast Fourier Transform) adapted the IEEE 802.11a-1999, which is a standard of the High-speed Wireless LAN using the OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) method. The proposed IFFT/FFT module is designed to minimize error and optimize architecture, using the 64-point R4SDC(Radix-4 Single-path Delay Commutator) method. The proposed IFFT/FFT module is designed by using the Verilog HDL and implemented by using the Samsung STD90(0.35㎛ 3.3 V)library.

본 논문에서는 OFDM( Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing)^(1-2)을 사용하는 고속 무선 LAN의 표준인 IEEE 802.11a-1999를 위해 IFFT/FFT (Inverse Fast Fourier Transform/Fast Fourier Transform) 모듈을 설계하였다. 모듈은 64-point R2SDF(Radix-2 Single-path Delay Feedback)[3-4]로 설계하였으며 에러와 하드웨어 크기를 줄이는데 중점을 두었다. 또한 각 버터플라이 블록에서의 데이터를 저장하기 위해 flip-flop과 RAM을 쓴 두가지 형태의 R2SDF를 비교하였다. 제안된 IFFT/FFT 모듈은 하드웨어 기술 언어인 Verilog HDL을 사용하여 설계되었다. 설계의 합성과 구현을 위해 Synopsys사의 Design Analyzer, Samsung std90(0.35[㎛], 3.3[V])라이브러리와 Xilinx사의 FPGA device XCV2000E-6BG560을 사용하였다.

본 논문에서는 HDTV를 위한 개선된 색온도 변환 시스템 설계를 제안하였다. 이 시스템은 x-색도좌표를 이용한 시스템에 비해 보상된 x-색도 좌표를 이용함으로써 색온도 계산 능력을 크게 개선하였다. 또한 다항회귀분석으로 새로 구한 좌표를 사용하여 색온도 계산 범위를 1667 K에서 25000 K까지 확장했다. 제안된 시스템은 Xilinx FPGA Virtex XCV2000E-6BG560 디바이스와 TV 세트를 사용하여 실험적으로 동작시켰다.
