The Man of Destiny which is shaw's first historical play is of great importance in that it depicts Napoleon as the shavian conception of greatness and heroic character for the first time. shaw's intention of the play is to show us heroic qualities which are indispensable to man's progress through the contrast napoleon and the Stange Lady who defrauded his Lietenant out of despatches from Paris. Shaw reveals that Napoleon's greatness and heroism lie in his exceptional endowments; his realism, freedom from conventional notions, self-control, his strong will power, fixity of purpose, indifference to personal happiness and dignity and hatred to foolish common people. But it cannot be overlooked that Shaw's Napoleon lacks calnmess. He is subject to fury and impatience, and has not been able entirely to shake off the hypocrisy so characteristic of the middle class. In short, he has been presented as a curious amalgam of noble and ignoble impulses. We can see that Shaw has almost ignored Napoleon's weaknesses in his description of Napoleon, and Strange Lady shows her deferences to convention, altruism, and all the moral code of the world. The struggle of the two for taking the despatches results in the victory of Napoleon, and his victory is th victory of a will unhampered by any conventions over a will that is bound hand and foot by conventions. The Strange Lady's all values act as a foil to Napoleon's original outlook on life and the world. Shaw implies that it is these superman-like qualities of mind and will that enabled Nopoleon to overcome all obstacles against him. One thing we should remenber is that Napoleon's victory over the Strange Lady is never permanent. Through Napoleon's speech on the three sorts of people, Shaw hints that the struggle between Napoleon and the Strange Lady who symbolize heroism and worldly conventions respectively is being and will be continued.

The demands to improve the performance of the vanadium redox flow battery have attracted an intense research on modifying the carbon-based electrode. In this study, the surface of graphite felt was reformed, using cobalt oxide. The cobalt oxide was implanted into graphite felt during hydrothermal and two step heat treatments. The cobalt was deposited by hydrothermal method and the two step heat treatments made lots of holes on the graphite felt surface which is called as porous surface. The porous surface acts as an electrochemically active site for the cathodic reaction of vanadium redox flow battery. The reformed electrode shows the electrochemically improved performance compared with the pristine electrode.

Mixing characteristics has been investigated with a lean premixed swirl-stabilized burner having dual-staged fuel injection arrays. NOx and CO emissions were observed with various ratio of fuel stages. Two dimensional fuel concentration fields were measured at the burner exit by using gas sampling probe. Mixedness of fuel was mainly controlled by fuel staging thereby mixing length. Flame structure was studied by using chemiluminescence image of OH radical. And emission characteristics of NOx and CO were analysed. An optimal case of fuel staging was determined by considering flame stability, flash-back and emissions.
Virtual Reality Head Mounted Display 기반 공군 조종사 모의 비행 훈련 시뮬레이터 파급효과에 관한 인식 연구

Virtual Reality Head Mounted Display (VR HMD)-based simulated flight training simulators with respect to ripple effects. Background: VR HMD-based simulators can increase immersion and realism by providing more realistic virtual environments in comparison to VM-based simulators. Existing studies related to VR HMD-based simulators have been mainly focused on flight training effects of pilots rather than considering all the effects collectively. Method: This study conducted a comparative experiment of VM-based and VR HMD-based simulators with 25 Republic of Korea Air Force F-15K fighter pilots. Results: All 6 items on ripple effects were statistically significantly higher in VR HMDbased simulators than in VM-based simulators. Conclusion: When VR HMD-based simulators are used to with respect to ripple effects the flight training for Air Force pilots, practical technical ripple effects can be expected. Application: The results of this study are expected to help us understand the system characteristics of VR HMD-based simulators.
