Purpose: To find the proper way and timing of treatment for minimizing the post-traumatic complication of peritalar dislocation or fracture-dislocation. Material and Methods: We reviewed total 12 cases of peritalar dislocation or fracture-dislocation that consist of 9 cases of subtalar joint dislocations, 1 case of talo-navicular joint dislocation and 2 cases of talar fracture-dislocations. Closed reduction was performed for subtalar dislocation without suturing the torn ligaments. The average follow up period was 25 months. Results: Of 9 subtalar dislocations, 8 cases presented acceptable results. But 1 case of a 28-year-old male patient with prolonged heavy sports activity history presented pain and mild limping. The other 3 cases of talo-navicular joint dislocation and talar fracture-dislocations presented acceptable results except one complaining of scar contracture. Conclusion: Complications such as early skin necrosis or neurovascular damage could be prevented by early closed reduction for peritalar dislocations or fracture-dislocations, and the repair of torn ligaments of ankle joint in peritalar dislocations did not affect the end results.

In this paper, a study of solid rocket propellant formulation is performed to suppress plume and reduce IR(infrared) signature which occurs in propellant combustion. The solid propellant to enhance the stealthy ability was formulated in terms of the kinds and the effects of afterburning suppressant on the ballistic performance and the amount of primary smoke. In addition, substantial decrease in plume and IR signature is confirmed by static firing test by a 4 inch standard motor.

In this study, measurement and analysis results from Differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) and Thermogravimetric analysis(TGA) on the newly developed high-energy thermoplastic elastomer(ETPE) propellant are described, followed by the previous study done under the same title as this paper [1]. The characteristics of high-energy thermoplastic propellant were also verified by conducting thermal analysis, and the LSGT, Shotgun & RQ Bomb test, was carried out as well. High energetic thermoplastic binders containing 45% of GAP(Glycidyl Azide Polymer), energetic plasticizer(DEGDN) and Oxidizer Aonium Perchlorate), RDX(reseach development explosive, cyclotrimethylenetrinitramine) were used to formulate the propellant.

Side jet thruster using nozzle closure separation device provides a solid rocket with a trajectory shift function. Side jet thruster consists of low combustion temperature propellant, neutral type propellant grain and nozzle closure separation device. If a trajectory shift is required, side jet thrust is generated on the rocket by separating some nozzle closures located in the opposite direction to thrust. After completing trajectory shift, the other nozzle closures located in the thrust direction are separated to cease side jet thrust. The operation process is verified through ground static test. The result in this study can be applied to changing rocket trajectory by controlling side jet thrust through nozzle closure separation.
