Osteomyelitis is an infection of bone or bone marrow, caused by pyogenic bacteria or mycobacterium. Osteo-myelitis can be acute or chronic, inflammatory process of the bone and its structures. Chronic osteomyelitis will result in variable sclerosis and deformity of the affected bone. With an infection of the bone, the subsequent in-flammatory response will elevate this overlying periosteum, leading to a loss of the nourishing vasculature, vas-cular thrombosis, and bone necrosis, resulting occasionally in formation of sequestra. These become areas that are more resistant to systemic antibiotic therapy due to lack of the normal Havesian canals that are blocked by scar tissue. At this aspect, not only systemic antibiotic therapy, but also surgical debridement maybe required to remove the affected bone and prevent disease propagation to adjacent areas. We experienced a patient who diag-nosed tongue cancer and underwent wide partial glossectomy few years before, with an ulcerative lesion around right retromolar trigon. We diagnosed cancer recurrence because PET indicated hot uptake on mandible which was nearby previous tongue tumor site. The patient received hemiglossectomy via paramedian mandibulotomy, partial mandibulectomy and fibula osteocutaneous free flap reconstruction. But final diagnosis was mandible os-teomyelitis on pathology report. Here, we present the case with a review of the related literatures.

최근 손 동작 인식은 새로운 맨머신인터페이스(man-machine interface)를 위한 기술로 주목 받고 있으며, 이를 위한 손 검출은 손 동작 인식이나 손 추적을 위해 반드시 선행되어야 하는 중요한 기술이다. 기존에 연구되어온 대부분의 손 검출 방법으로는 색상을 기반으로 한 손 검출이었다. 하지만 색상을 기반으로 한 손 검출은 조명의 영향을 많이 받아 신뢰성을 보장하기 어렵다. 이러한 조명의 영향은 깊이 정보(depth information)를 이용함으로써 조명 변화에 강인한 손 검출을 수행할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 손 검출을 깊이 정보를 활용하여 수행할 수 있는 방법을 제안하였다. 실시간으로 깊이 정보를 생성할 수 있는 depth sensor 하나를 사용하여 깊이 영상을 얻고 노이즈를 개선 해 준 후에 정의된 모션을 사용하여 손의 특징을 추출하여 손 검출을 하였다.
전방십자인대 재건술 후 하지관절의 생체역학적 변화 - SPM 통계기법을 활용한 데이터의 재해석

The purpose of this study was to investigate the movement changes in lower extremity according to the ACL reconstruction using kinematic variables and SPM technique. Twenty-one post ACL reconstruction patients ([AG]) and an equal number of healthy adults ([CG]) participated in this study. All participants were asked to perform walking, running, cutting 30°and 60°, respectively. The 3-D joint angle of lower extremity was calculated. In addition, to investigate the movement changed according to ACL reconstruction, discrete variables and continuous variables were verified using independent t-test and 1D-SPM. During walking and running, there was no significant difference according to ACL reconstruction in both discrete variables and continuous variables (p>.05). However, during cutting 30°and 60°, discrete variables and continuous variables showed significant differences in the hip and ankle joint (p<.05). A significant difference was found in the knee joint only in continuous variables using 1D-SPM. Based on these results, it is estimated that AG uses compensatory movements though the movements of the hip and knee joints, which are close to the knee joint, during cutting. Moreover, excessive extension angle of the knee joint during initial contact shown in the continuous variables can effect as a risk factor for re-injury. The results in this study were confirmed more clearly in the verification of continuous variables. It is expected that the verification of continuous variables using 1D-SPM can be used in various ways in future study.

영상 기반 거리 측정 기술은 LiDAR와 같은 값비싼 장비의 한계를 보완해줄 수 있는 대안으로써, 자율주행차 등의 다양한 분야에서 활용될 수 있는 중요한 기술이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 영상 데이터에서 차량 번호판을 통한 차간거리추정 공식을 제안한다. 번호판은 모든 차량마다 크기가 일정하기 때문에, 거리에 따라 줄어드는 번호판의 픽셀수의 비율을 이용해 차간거리를 계산한다. 본 논문에서 제시한 방법은 연산속도가 매우 빠르기 때문에 실시간 거리추출에 적합하여 자율주행자동차 등의 분야에서 센서 대신 활용될 수 있을 것이다. Image-based distance measurement technology is an alternative that can supplement the limitations of expensive equipment such as LiDAR, and is an important technology that can be used in various fields such as autonomous vehicles. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a formula for estimating inter-vehicle distance through vehicle license plates from image data. Since the license plate has a constant size for all vehicles, the inter-vehicle distance is calculated using the ratio of the number of pixels of the license plate that decreases with the distance. Since the method proposed in this paper has a very high calculation speed, it is suitable for real-time distance extraction and can be used instead of sensors in fields such as autonomous vehicles.

Thymoma is the most common anterior mediastinal mass in adult, and arises from thymic epithelial cells which includes consists various proportions of epithelial and lymphocytic aspect. Thymic epithelial cell arises from the ventral wings of the third and fourth branchial pouches in the embryo, and these cells are considered tumorous condition of thymoma. Surgical resection is main treatment of thymoma. And adjuvant chemotherapy or radiation is considered due to postoperative pathologic diagnosis. We experienced a tumor which located from left anterior neck along superior mediastinum on chest radiograph incidentally and diagnosed parathyroid adenoma clinically. After surgical removal, final pathologic report was thymoma. Here, we present the case with a review of the relat-ed literatures.
시각장애인을 위한 스테레오 영상기반 보행환경정보안내 단말 플랫폼 개발

This paper describes a device platform which the blind can wear to keep path and to get surrounding information during their independent walking. Compared to the existing technologies, the proposed device could be used indoors and outdoors, and maps need not be provided in advance. It is composed of a glasses type device equipped with image sensors, and a portable device that analyzes sensor data for sighted guiding. RGB images and depth images are extracted to generate a walking map based on feature points. It also can cope with the risk of collision with bollard, color cone by applying vertical obstacle detection technology based on floor detection.

Early glottic cancer can be effectively treated with surgery or radiotherapy showing the comparable treatment results. Since radiation therapy may be better in terms of voice preservation, it tends to be preferred in early glot-tic cancer. Most common recurrence site is glottis after radiation therapy and complete remission of glottic pri-mary site followed by local recurrence limited to neck is very rare. The authors are reporting a patient with region-al recurrence of central neck lymph nodes after radiation therapy for T1a glottic cancer.
