식도암 술식에 있어 개흉술과 경부 식도-위문합술병용의 효과에 관한 추적조사(Ⅰ)

Carcinoma of the esophagus is one of the most difficult diseases to cure or palliate. Aithough operation may provide the only chance of a cure for esophageal carcinoma, results of the operation still remains unsatisfactory. We performed thoracoabdominal esophagectomy to make a effective radical lymph node dissection, and performed esophagogastrostomy using a transverse cervical incision to make less complication, which are anastomosis site leakage, recurrent laryngeal nerve palsy and so on. We analysed the 7 male patients of esophageal cancer who diagnosed and operated in the manner of thoracoabdominal esophagectomy and esophagogastrostomy using transverse cervical incision at Chung-Ang University Hospital from July, 1995 to June, 1997. Results were as followed The sex incidence showed male predominance with a male to female ratio of 7:o. The main complained symptom is dysphagia for soild food. The tumor was located at lower third in 3 cases, at middle third in 4 cases. According to the AJCC of the primary esophageal cancer, StageⅡ were 3 cases, stageⅢ were 3 cases and StageⅣ was 1 case. In histologic types. most cases of esphoageal cancer were squamous cell carcinoma. As an adjuvant therapy, postoperative chemotherapy and radiotherapy were performed in 3 case, and only a postoperative chemotherapy was performed in 4 cases. Six of the seven patients have been followed up.
현장타설말뚝의 굴착공 벽면거칠기 및 연직도 측정 시스템(BKS-LRPS)의 개발 및 적용성에 관한 연구

A new borehole roughness and verticality measurement system (BKS-LRPS) for rock socketed drilled shafts were developed and verified its field application. The stability of BKS-LRPS was verified for several field conditions, which included the effect of measuring unit shaking, the application of water/air calibration factors, and the resistance of high water pressure inside piles. Also, effective measurement distances for various conditions of turbidity were defined in the field by measuring borehole roughness and vertical alignment for 6 drilled shafts. Vertical alignments for all drilled shafts could be measured by BKS-LRPS. However, borehole roughness was not able to be measured due to high turbidity caused by RCD drilling processing. Based on the BKS-LRPS field verification, BKS-LRPS is the first borehole roughness and verticality measurement system applying both in the water and air.
수중에서 적용가능한 대구경 현장타설말뚝의 굴착공 벽면거칠기 측정장치의 보정에 관한 연구

Based on recent studies on rock socketed drilled shafts, it was found that the side resistance of rock socketed drilled shafts is affected by unconfined compressive strength of rock, socket roughness, rock types and joints, and initial normal stress. Especially, the socket roughness is affected by rock types and joints, drilling methods, and diameters. Since existing roughness measurement systems could be conducted only in the air, a new roughness measurement system, which can measure rock socket roughness in the air and also in the water, is needed. However, the development of new roughness measurement system for civil engineers has been faced with difficulties of electrical applications. In this study, the laboratory verification system for BKS-LRPS (Backyoung-KyungSung Laser Roughness Profiling System) was developed, which can be applied both in the water and air. Based on the laboratory verification, it was found that the improved BKS-LRPS could define effective measurement distances for the conditions reflecting the apparatus and in-situ situations.
The Meniscofemoral Ligament Mimicking a Lateral Meniscus Tear

A 58-year-old male patient who had developed left knee pain with a history of trauma was referred to our hospital. Physical examination and further examination by magnetic resonance imaging revealed results that closely resemble a horizontal tear of the lateral meniscus and a tear of the medial meniscus. Arthroscopically, we found a cord-like structure originating from the posterior 1/3 portion of the lateral meniscus and passing obliquely toward the medial femoral condyle in front of the posterior cruciate ligament without a tear of the lateral meniscus. In this report, we describe a rare case of anterior meniscofemoral ligament that was clearly seen on arthroscopy and mimicked a meniscal tear, which is also known as a pseudo-tear of the meniscus.

계면활성제계 그라우트를 활용한 흙막이 벽체의 차수성능 평가

In case of underground construction affected by groundwater, CIP (Cast-In-Place Pile) method is generally used to resolve the geo-hydraulic problem. However, as this method has poor connectivity between piles, an auxiliary method for cut-off is needed in many cases. In this study, a new concept earth retaining wall method (H-CIP) with no auxiliary method, by using surfactant grout (Hi-FA) which improves antiwashout and infiltration ability, is introduced, and its field applicability is evaluated. CIP and H-CIP piles were installed with same ground conditions, and field permeability tests were conducted to verify the performance. As results, newly contrived H-CIP method shows higher antiwashout performance for cut-off than conventional CIP method.
