This study is a search for radiation protection effects of radiation exposure on the organogenic period during the prenatal period, which is known to be the most likely to have congenital malformations by radiation exposure. To study the radiation protection for the mixture of selenium that is strong antioxidant and folic acid that is essential vitamin for DNA synthesis, 2 Gy of radiation was irradiated to pregnant female rats. then, after 14 days of fetal birth, observing blood components, SOD(Superoxide Dismutase), histological changes and external malformations. There was a significant protective effect to reduce blood cell damage(p<0.05) in the irradiation group after selenium and folic acid mixture were administered than irradiation group, and the activation of SOD which is antioxidant enzymes was increased. In addition, confirmed the effect of suppressing the expression of apoptosis of small intestinal cells and the re-duction of cerebral cortex layer reduction by radiation. thus, it was confirmed that the congenital malformations were re-duced as a result of these protective effects. Based on these results, selenium and folic acid mixture may reduce the in-cidence of congenital malformations, and it will reduce the damage of the fetus caused by the exposure of the organo-genic period due to accidents.
각분해 광전자 분광법을 이용한 Pd(111)의 전자구조 연구

저에너지 전자회절(low energy electron diffraction: LEED)과 각분해 광전자 분광법(angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy: ARPES)을 이용하여 깨끗한 Pd(111) 표면의 원자구조 및 전자구조를 연구하였다. LEED 무늬는 3-fold 대칭성을 가진 전형적인 fcc (111)면에 해당하는 깨끗한 무늬가 관찰되었다. Pd(111) 표면의 Γ-M', Γ-K, Γ-M의 세 대칭선 방향을 따라 ARPES측정을 행하였고, 이 결과들로부터 4d 전자들의 실험 띠구조를 구하였다. 실험 띠구조는 이론적으로 계산한 Pd bulk 띠구조와 대체로 일치하였으며, Pd(111) 표면의 일함수의 실험값 역시 띠구조 이론에 의해 예측된 값과 잘 일치하였다. 한편 실험 띠구조는 계산한 bulk 띠구조에 비하여 에너지 준위가 Brillouin영역의 k값에 따라 0.1 ~0.8eV 정도 페르미 준위에 가깝게 나타났으며, 실험 띠폭이 이론 띠폭보다 약 0.5eV 정도 좁게 나타났다. 이러한 차이점의 원인으로 국소화된 표면 4d 전자들의 영향 및 Pd 4d bulk 전자들간의 Coulomb 상호작용 효과가 고려되었다. We have investigated atomic and electronic structures of a clean Pd(111) surface using low energy electron diffraction (LEED) and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES). A typical clean LEED pattern with a 3-fold symmetry has been observed, corresponding to that for an fcc (111) surface. ARPES measurements have been performed along the Γ-M', Γ-K, Γ-M symmetry lines, from which the experimental band structure of Pd(111) has been determined. The experimental band structure and work function of Pd(111) surface are found to agree well with the calculated band structure of bulk Pd and the calculated work function of Pd(111), respectively. However, the peak positions in the experimental band structure are located closer to the Fermi level than in the theoretical band structure by 0.1~0.8 eV, depending on the k-points in the Brilouin zone. In addition, the experimental band widths are narrower than the theoretical band widths by about 0.5 eV. The effects of the localized surface Pd 4d states and the Coulomb interaction between Pd 4d bulk electrons have been discussed as possible origins of such discrepancies between experiment and theory.
방사선 조사 시 혈구 및 장점막에 대한 흑마늘 추출물의 보호효과

교육, 의료, 산업분야에서 다양하게 이용되고 있는 방사선은 전신 피폭시 다양한 부작용을 야기한다. 이에 흑마늘 추출물을 이용하여 방사선 피폭으로 발생되는 부작용을 저감화 시키는 방사선방호효과를 확인하였다. 흑마늘추출물을 Sprague Dawley Rat에 일정기간 투여한 후 7, 13 Gy의 X-ray를 조사하여 혈구성분 및 소장조직을 비교 관찰하였다. 실험결과 흑마늘 추출물을 투여한 실험군에서 대조군에 비해 초기 백혈구(p<0.05) 및 적혈구(p<0.05), 혈소판(p<0.05)의 손상이 감소되었으며 소장움이 대조군에 비하여 유의성 있는 생존을 확인하였고 소장 융모의 길이는 정상군에 가깝게 남아있는 것을 확인하였다. 따라서 흑마늘 추출물이 방사선 피폭으로 인한 세포 손상을 줄여주어 방사선방호제로써의 역할을 할 수 있을 것이라 사료된다. The radiation has been utilized in a number of fields, even though the use of plenty cause a variety of side effects. This study was confirmed for radiation protective effects of aged garlic to contribute to the prevention of disasters that are radiation exposure. We studied the Complete Blood cell Count(CBC) and the small intestine after feeding aged garlic extract into Sprague Dawley Rat which irradiated X-ray beam 7 and 13 Gy. Garlic extract was administered to the results in the experimental group showed a notable difference in the CBC of platelets (p<0.05), red blood cells (p<0.05) and early damaged white blood cells (p<0.05). In addition, it was confirmed that experimental group's small intestine crypt is more survival than irradiation group significantly. And experimental group has small intestine villi length almost similar to the normal group. result of the aged garlic study will be able to be of great benefit for the radiation relevant emergency management.

In this paper, we propose applicable methodology using simple scenarios for the architecture and its procedure of signalling at the NNI for B-ISDN in Korea. By the recent technologies, the flexible and integrated networks of the future are designed, and the infrastructure hardware and software of those networks are designed based on the modular concepts. Also, the ATM-based B-ISDN must be able to support the broadband transmission function for providing various services with diverse bandwidths such as multimedia service and the function for controlling services and bandwidth is necessary. Currently, the requirements at the NNI for B-ISDN in Korea are based on the network node connection type which is connection setup structure. They must show the upper/lower layer conformance to have the flexibility in new services and guarantee the interoperability between the network functions. But, network functions and protocol specifications described in this paper are limited to the first stage target system in Korea. Therefore, we present the modular architecture which is corresponding to the B-ISUP of HAN/B-ISDN with those characteristics. Currently applicable architecture and procedure for B-ISUP and the functions of expandable modular architecture are also proposed.

Two constituents were isolated as the antibacterial principles from the methanolic extract of Crassirhizomae Rhizoma against Streptococcus mutans OMZ176 which is known to be a strong cariogenic bacterium. They were identified as flavaspidic acid PB and flavaspidic acid AB by means of physicochemical methods. They exhibited strong antibacterial activity and the minimal inhibitory concentration(MIC) value was 6.3mcg/ml

ITU-T Q.2931 and ATM Forum UNI 3.1 lead the standardization of signaling functions for the call/connection control at B-ISDN UNI. The one is applicable to the system in the public network, which provides the point-to-point call/connection control. The other is applicable to configure ATM private network mainly related with various terminal equipments. Domestic B-ISDN developers have developed ATM switches and B-NTs as network equipment, and B-TA as a terminal equipment. But many kinds of terminal-equipments are needed to provide various services in B-ISDN. If the public network can accommodate the terminal-equipments of UNI 3.1, it's very effective to accommodate manu kinds of terminal-equipments. Therefore, this paper identifies the problems that can be occurred on the signaling procedure, when B-ISDN the public network is connected to the UNI 3.1 terminal-equipment, and provides good alternatives that can handle this kind of call/connection well.

For the research of cytotoxic natural products, 50 medicinal plants were extracted with benzene and methanol, separately, and screened against L1210 cells. From the results(Table I), 6 samples showed cytotoxicity both in benzene and methanol extracts of 17 samples in benzene extracts and 3 samples in methanol extracts, respectively. Generally, the cytotoxicity exhibited high frequency (34%) in benzene extract but low frequency in methanol extract (6%), it meant that active cytotoxic components had less polarity. ED50 values less than 10mcg/ml were observed in 17 medicinal plants.
