Objectives : The purpose of this study was to explore the effectiveness of Korean medicine treatment and the Muscle Energy Technique on foot drop through a case study with a patient with common peroneal neuropathy. Methods : A patient with severe foot drop after an ankle sprain was hospitalized and treated with acupuncture and traditional medicine and the Muscle Energy Technique. The effect of the treatment was evaluated with the Numeric Rate Scale(NRS), dorsiflexion angle evaluation, and the Manual Muscle Test (MMT). Results : The results of the NRS, dorsiflexion angle evaluation and MMT showed greatly improvementwith results changing from 8 to 2, 0 to 15, and Grade 2 to Grade 4, respectively. Conclusions : This study suggests that Korean medicine treatment and the Muscle Energy Technique could be effective treatments for foot drop with common peroneal neuropathy. However further clinical studies are needed to establish a definite conclusion.

The purpose of this study was to calculate a correction value for estimating the noise levels in the classrooms of a newly planned school for use in environmental-impact and educational-environment assessments. The study involved measuring and analyzing the outdoor and indoor noise levels in the classrooms of 32 elementary and middle schools located in Yongin-si and Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do. In each of the 55 cases, the noise level was measured at a receiver point located 1 m in front of the school building facade. At the same time, the indoor noise levels were measured at 2 receiver points located 1 m in front of a window and 1 m in front of a hallway in the classroom, with all the windows open. These measurements were averaged to calculate the noise level in the classroom. Then, a correction value was calculated based on the difference between the outdoor noise level and noise level in the classroom. Therefore, by considering this correction value for the estimated outdoor noise level during the planning stage, the noise level in the classroom could be determined. The final calculated correction values were −6.4 dB(A) for the parallel type, −6.9 dB(A) for the vertical type, and −6.5 dB(A) for the mixed type. The use of these correction values will reduce the noise impact and resource wastage that could result from over- or underestimating, creating a calm and reasonable educational environment.

컨테이너를 이용한 해상운송이 본격적으로 시작되면서 컨테이너선의 크기는 꾸준히 증가하고 있으며 최근에는 24,000TEU급 선박의운항이 일반화되어 있다. 하지만, 최근 이러한 초대형 컨테이너 선박의 등장에 따른 효율성 및 생산성이 항만의 운영 관점에서 타당한지에 대한 의문도 지속적으로 제기되고 있다. 2022년 제10회 부산국제항만컨퍼런스에서는 글로벌 주요 정기선사들의 초대형 컨테이너 선박의 발주 현황을 분석하여 소강상태에 접어든 컨테이너 선박의 대형화 추세에 대한 심층적인 연구를 요구하였다. 일반적으로 선박 대형화 요인은 TEU당운송 비용을 낮추는 규모의 경제 실현이며 이는 단일선박으로 대량의 화물을 수송함으로써 단위당 운송비용의 절감과 운송의 효율증가에 비해연료 소모량의 증가가 낮아 단위당 운송비용의 절감 수준이 높아지기 때문이다. 하지만, 과연 항만의 측면에서 이러한 컨테이너 선박의 대형화추세가 항만 운영에 있어서 타당성을 지니고 있는지에 대한 검토가 필요하다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 선형별 생산성 및 효율성을 비교·분석하여 항만 운영에 있어 선박 대형화의 효과를 평가한다. As containerized maritime transport began in earnest, the size of container ships has steadily increased, and recently, the operation of 24,000 TEU-class vessels has become regular. However, concerns about the efficiency and productivity of such mega container ships from a port operational perspective have continued to be raised. The 10th Busan International Port Conference requested an in-depth study on the trends of container ship enlargement by analyzing the order status of ultra-large container ships from major global liners. Generally, the factor that drives the upsizing of ships is the realization of economies of scale that lowers transportation costs per TEU, which leads to a higher level of cost reduction per unit transportation compared to the increase in fuel consumption due to transporting large amounts of cargo with a single ship. However, it is necessary to examine whether this trend of container vessel enlargement is feasible for port operations. To this end, this study compares and analyzes the productivity and efficeiency of different ship sizes to evaluate the effect of ship size on port operations.

Objectives : The purpose of this research is to show the effectiveness of the Korean medical treatment on patients diagnosed with supraspinatus tendinosis, subacromial bursitis and subdeltoid bursitis treated by Korean medical treatment Including megadose shinbaro pharmacopuncture. Methods : We used megadose shinbaro pharmacopuncture on patients who received treatment at Bucheon Jaseng Korean medicine hospital from December, 2016 to January, 2017. Also we checked NRS, SPADI, range of motion(ROM) and shoulder physical examination to follow the scale showing the improvement of the symptoms of the patients. Results : All 4 patientes showed the improvement of NRS, SPADI range of motion(ROM) and shoulder physical examination. Conclusion : This research showed that megadose shinbaro pharmacopuncture was effective on the treatment of shoulder pain patients diagnosed with supraspinatus tendinosis, subacromial bursitis and subdeltoid bursitis.
대용량 약침치료 및 한의학적 치료를 적용한 흉요추 연접부 증후군 증례 보고

The purpose of this research is to find out the effect of Megadose pharmacopuncture with Korean Medicine Treatment on patients who were diagnosed as ThoracoLumbar Junction Syndrome. Megadose pharmacopuncture was proceeded on 4 patients who received treatment at OO Korean Medicine Hospital from November, 2016 to Februrary, 2017. In addition, We also kept a record of NRS, ODI, and EQ-5D on the day of admission and discharge to find out the differences between initial and final figures. As a result, Megadose parmacopuncture showed a significant effect on alleviating pain on patients with ThoracoLumbar Junction Syndrome. There was a significant decrease in NRS, ODI scores. Not only did the scores of NRS and ODI decrease significantly,but also the figures of EQ-5D increased significantly as well. To be specific, the mean of NRS and ODI dcreased from 10 to 1.75 and 61.87 to 12.78 while the mean of EQ-5D increased from 0.258 to 0.850. This research suggests Megadose pharmacopuncture with Korean Medicine Treatment could be a remedy for ThoracoLumbar Junction Syndrome. (J Korean Med Rehabil 2018;28(2): 127-134)
