This study is conducted to improve the efficiency of a thermal storage tank. The thermal storage tank was designed to store heat energy that obtained from the solar or the others heat sources. However, it has difficulties in storing heat with nonuniform temperature through the entire tank with respect to the vertical direction. This study is focused on the thermal stratification to improve thermal comfort for the resident in house. To enhance temperature stratification of the tank, a distributor was designed and installed in the middle of the storage tank vertically. The vertically designed distributor could supply the return water with stratified temperature in the storage tank with respect to the height. The water velocity from the distributor hole is the same with the other outlet in the distributor. However, gravity effect on the flow in the storage tank is much higher than that of the velocity effect due to that Froude Number is less than 1. During the heat charging process in the storage tank, temperature maintained with little difference with respect to the height. However the charging process takes long time to get a effective temperature for the heating or hot water supply because of all of water in the storage tank needs to be heated.

This study is conducted to improve efficiency of thermal storage tank. The thermal storage tank was designed to store heat energy that obtained from solar or the others heat sources. However, it has difficulties in storing heat with uniform temperature through the entire tank with respect to vertical direction. This kind of maldistribution of the supplied heat to the storage tank effects on the system performance. In this study is focused on utilization of the thermal stratification to improve thermal comfort for people in the house. To enhance temperature stratification of the tank, a distributor was designed and Installed in the middle of the tank. The distributor is supplies hottest water to the top side of the tank which is very close to inlet of the supply line to the heating load. The hottest water that is accumulated on top side of the tank is firstly supplied to the load with higher temperature. Reminder water takes a little time to warming up until desired supply temperature reached. This kind alternating selection of the supply temperature is improve thermal comfort with moderated system performance.
공기열원 히트펌프를 위한 공기식 지중 열교환기(GAHX) 설계 및 분석 연구

A ground air heat exchanger (GAHX), also called earth air heat exchanger is a useful technology to be integrated with other renewable energy technologies. In this study, ground-air heat exchanger system for the air source heat pump is introduced. The purpose of this study is to design the volumetric flow rate and the length of GAHX system. A GAHX length model equation has been developed and used for calculation. GAHX thermal efficiency are recommended as 75% and 85% in order to optimize pipe length. 2,750 m3/h, 2,420 m3/h of volumetric flow rate on 88.3m, 111.7m length are suggested for providing 7.5kW thermal capacity. And the number of path is recommended more than two to minimize pressure drop. For future study, advanced model equation study with ground thermal behavior and a more efficient GAHX design will be considered.
한우 암소의 초음파 자료를 활용한 환경효과 및 유전모수 추정

18개월령과 31개월령 사이의 암소 56,487두의 판독 결과를 이용하였으며, 환경요인과 유전적 요인들에 대해 분석이 이루어졌다. 2011년 1월에서 2018년 8월까지의 기간 동안의 국내 농가들의 데이터를 이용하였으며, WOMBAT 소프트웨어를 활용하여 Multi-trait animal model을 통해 각 형질들의 유전력, 유전상관 및 표현형상관을 추정하였다. 모델식들의 환경적인 요인들의 대해 유의성이 나타났다; 측정년도, 측정월, 지역, 암소개월령. 초음파 등지방두께, 초음파 등심단면적, 초음파 근내지방도의 유전력은 각각 0.364, 0.499, 0.104로 추정되었다. 유전상관과 표현형상관은 각 형들간에 있어 강한 정의 상관을 나타냈다. 각 형질들간 유전상관은 초음파 근내지방도와 초음파 등심단면적, 초음파 근내지방도, 초음파 등심단면적과 초음파 근내지방도는 각각 0.551, 0.485, 0.486으로 나타났으며, 표현형상관은 0.594, 0.490, 0.514로 나타났다. 이에 대한 결과로 초음파측정결과를 이용하여 농장운영에 있어서 육질 개선을 위한 유전적 능력을 개선시킬 수 있을 것이라 보며, 한우의 개량에 있어서 기초적인 자료로서 이용이 될 수 있을 것이라 사료된다. Ultrasound measurements of backfat thickness (UBF), longissimus muscle area (ULMA) and marbling score (UMS) on 56,487 Hanwoo cows ages between 18 and 31 months were analyzed to estimate environmental effects and genetic parameters. Data were collected from different breeding farms in Korea measured during the period from January 2011 to August 2018. Multi-trait animal model by restricted maximum likelihood procedures were performed using WOMBAT software to estimate heritability, phenotypic and genetic correlations among the considered traits. Significant environmental effects included in the models were: measurement year, month, region, and age of the cow as covariate. Estimated heritabilities for UBF, ULMA and UMS were 0.364, 0.499 and 0.104, respectively. Genetic and phenotypic correlations were strongly positive among traits of ultrasound. Genetic correlations among traits were 0.551, 0.485, and 0.466 for UBF: ULMA, UBF: UMS, and ULMA: UMS in cows, respectively. Phenotypic correlations among traits were 0.594, 0.490, and 0.514 for UBF: ULMA, UBF: UMS, and ULMA: UMS in cows, respectively. In conclusion, ultrasound traits can be favorably incorporated into farm management to genetically improve the meat quality of breeding animals. Moreover, these estimated genetic parameters for ultrasound traits would be very useful in Hanwoo breeding program.
태양열을 이용한 온수 및 난방 일체형 복합시스템의 성능예측에 관한 연구

In this study, a simulation program was developed with heat transfer model in the storage tank and analysis was conducted with variation of operating condition and schedule of operation to analyze performance of a hot water supply and panel heating system with a solar collector and burner combined thermal storage tank. The simulation program is divided two sections. One part is calculation of temperature variation of water which flows through the panel in the floor for heating of the residential house during 24 hours, and the other part is heat transfer calculation for the reaction time to get desired water temperature in the thermal storage tank. As results, light oil consumption and system performance during operation period were analyzed with variation of climate condition and with or without solar collector. Most of the case, oil could be saved about from 24 to 41% with installing the solar collector. The performance of the system is more dependent on radiation time of the solar collector rather than the intensity of the solar radiation.
