The optical film for light luminance improvement of BLU that is used in LCD/LED and retro-reflective film is used as luminous sign consist of square and triangular pyramid structure pattern based on V-shape micro prism pattern. In this study, we analyzed machining characteristics of Cu-plated flat mold by shaping with diamond tool. First, cutting conditions were optimizing as V-groove machining for the experiment of micro prism structure mold machining with prism pattern shape, cutting force and roughness. Second, the micro prism structure such as square and triangular pyramid pattern were machined by cross machining method with optimizing cutting conditions. Burr and chip shape were discussed with material properties and machining method.

The hydroxyapatite powder was prepared by the precipitation method. The obtained powder was heat-treated and its products were investigated in order to characterize its decomposition process. The powder was Ca-deficient hydroxyapatite with no relation to the Ca/P mole ratio in the initial solution. The obtained hydroxyapatite was thermally decomposed into tricalcium phosphate [Ca3(PO4)2, TCP] after heat-treatment above 80$0^{\circ}C$ and the extent of the decomposition was dependent on the nonstoichiometry of obtained hydroxyapatite, and the resultant hydroxyapatite and tricalcium phosphate maintained stable forms up to 120$0^{\circ}C$. The hydroxyapatite powder had the better stability with the samller the nonstoichinometry of hydroxyapatite. And the quantities of tricalcium phosphate obtained after decomposition were decreased, and also the corresponding decomposition temperatures were increased with decreasing extent of nonstoichiometry in precipitated hydroxyapatite.

The effects of $Fe_2O_3$ addition on optical and electrical properties of MgO films as a protective layer for AC plasma display panels were investigated. Doped MgO films prepared by the e-beam evaporation have a higher ${\gamma}$ (secondary electron emission coefficient) than pure MgO protective layer. Roughness increased with amount of $Fe_2O_3$ up to 100 ppm and then decreased further addition. These results showed that discharge properties and optical properties of MgO protective layers seemed to be closely related with microstructure factors such as roughness. Good optical and electrical properties of ${\gamma}$ of 0.120, surface roughness of 14.1 nm and optical transmittance of 94.55% were obtained for the MgO + 100 ppm $Fe_2O_3$ protective layer sintered at $1700^{\circ}C$ for 5 hrs.

The effects of starting composition, sintering temperature and porosity on the mechanical properties of hydroxyapatite ceramics were investigated. The hydroxyapatite powder were prepared by precipitation method using Ca(NO3)2.4H2O and (NH4)2.HPO4. The obtained powders were Ca-deficient hydroxyapatites and as the Ca/P mole ration in the initial solution was increased, the particle size of the precipitates was decreased, and the decomposition of hydroxyapatite to $\beta$-TCP was controlled. The porosity, as well as Ca/P mole ratio in starting composition and sintering temperature, plays major role in the mechanical properties of dense hydroxyapatite ceramics.
