The ultrastructure of the trachea of the compound eye in adult cabbage butterfly, Pieris rapae L., was studied. Trachea under the basement membrane is divided into tracheoles of the ommatidia which blanched 4 tracheoles during 2 divisions. Tracheoles of the ommatidia originated from one tracheolar cell and its nuclear is located under the basement membrane and its cytoplasm enveloped the retinular cell and the retinular pigment cell. The modified structure of tracheoles is located at the first division area of the ommatidia and its size is $8{\mu}mX4.5{\mu}m$. And the length of its taenidium is $0.1{\sim}0.6{\mu}m$, diameter $0.15{\mu}m$, and interval $0.3{\mu}m$.
돼지의 혈청 progesterone 수준에 의한 임신진단에 의한 연구

The study was carried out to investigate the changes of hormone levels in blood serum during the estrous cycle and the accuracy of pregnancy diagnosis by estimation of plasma progesterone at 20 to 23 days after breeding in sows. The progesterone and estradiol-17 R from blood serum samples were assayed by radioimmunoassay method. The results of this study were summarized as follows: I.The progesterone concentrations in blood serum during the estrous cycle began to decline rapidly at 2 days before estrus, and thereafter decreased to 0.7±0.18ng/ml at on the day of estrus, and thereafter reached a peak mean level of 13.1±2.15ng/ml at 15 days after estrus. 2.The estradiol-17β concentrations in blood serum during the estrous cycle showed a peak mean level of 14.6±3.24pg/ml at 18 days after estrus, and decreased from 9.8 pg/ml to 14.2 pg/ml at luteal phase. 3.During 20 to 23 days after artificial insemination, the accuracy of pregnancy diagnosis from the blood serum progesterone levels were 96.4% for non-pregnant sows($lt;2.7ng/ml), and 86.1% for pregnant sows( 3.6ng/ml). The average overall accuracy of pregnancy prediction for non-pregnant and pregnant sows was 91.3%.

The temperature-dependent magnetization curves of amorphous Fe-Co-(Nd, Sm, Gd, Tb)-B alloys were measured using a vibrating sample magnetometer from 77 K up to 900 K. The spin wave stiffness constants and the range of the exchange interaction were calculated from the saturation magnetization values at 0 K, Curie temperatures and the Bloch coefficients estimated from the saturation magnetization curves. The low temperature dependence of magnetization is in good agreement with Bloch relation, Ms(T)=Ms(O) (1-BT^(3/2)-CT^(5/2)). The spin wave stiffness constant and the range of exchange interaction are decreased by substitution of heavy rare earth (Tb, Gd).
Disodium Dihydrogen Pyrophosphate 에 의한 Pork Sausage 의 pH 조절이 방부제의 보존효과에 미치는 영향

This experiment was conducted to investigate the preservative effect of furylfuramide and sorbic acid for pork sausage which was acidified by the addition of disodium dihydrogen pyrophosphate. Five hundred and forty sausages were divided into nine groups. In conducting this experiment, 3×3 factorial design was used in treating three different levels of DDP (0%, 0.5%, 1%) and three different levels of antiseptics (0, FF5ppm+SO-A 0.1%, FF 10ppm+SO-A 0.2%). The results of this experiment are summarized as follows: (i) The growth of bacteria in sausages was effectively controlled in proportion to the additional use of antiseptics and the effect was more remarked by the addition of DDP. (2) The penetrating degree was more significantly (p$lt;0.01) decreased in the DDP supplemented lots than in the non DDP added lots. (3) White any differences in jelly strength of sausages were not found immediately after sterilization, the additional use of antiseptics resulted in good elasticity, as the storage day goes by, and the DDP 0.5% supplemented lots was most significantly elastic. (4) The pH range immediately after strilization was more lowered by 0.69 unit in the DDP 0.5% supplemented lots and by 1 unit in the DDP 1% added lots than in the non DDP supplemented lots, respectively. (5) The number of spoiled samples was decreased by the addition of chemical preservatives and on the other hand, the preservative effect was much improved in case of supplementing DDP. (6) More addition of chemical preservatives and DDP supplement significantly (P$lt;0.01) decreased the amount of the volatile basic nitrogen.

The tentacular epithelial cells of Cipangopaludina chinensis were studied with electron microscope. The tentacular epithelium consists of columnar supporting cells, numerous glandular cells and ciliated cells. Glandular cells are classified into three types; type I (mucous metachromasia cell), type II(mucous goblet cell) and type III. Ciliated cells are subdivided into two types; type I ciliated cell has cilia with typical axoneme(9+2), and type II ciliated cell has cilia with unusual axoneme.
