A modified generalized particle algorithm, MGPA, was suggested to improve the computational efficiency of standard SPH method in numerical analysis of high speed impact behavior. This method uses a numerical failure mechanism than material failure models to describe the target penetration. MGPA algorithm was more effective to describe the impact phenomena and new boundaries produced during the calculation process were well recognized and treated in the target penetration problem of a bullet. When bullet perforation problems were analyzed by this method, MGPA algorithm calculation gives the stable numerical solution and stress oscillation or particle penetration phenomena were not shown. The error range in ballistic velocity limit is less than $2{\sim}13%$ for various target thickness.
AISC2005에 기준한 변단면 선설계 건축물시스템의 자동화 최적구조설계

철골 Pre-Engineered Building System(PEBS)이 국내에서도 80년도 후반부터 상당히 일반화되었지만 변단면 PEBS는 대부분 국외에서 개발된 최적화 프로그램으로 구조설계가 수행되고 있다. 이 연구에서는 3차원 변단면 PEBS의 구조설계를 AISC2005의 허용응력설계법과 KBC 기준에 따라 주어진 여러 제약조건들을 만족하도록 수치해석법으로 최적화하는 프로그램을 개발하였다. 변단면 구조물의 최적화 설계는 구조해석과 최적 부재설계를 수행하는데, 구조물의 최소 중량화를 위해서 구조해석과 부재설계 과정을 허용응력조건과 변위조건이 만족될 때까지 반복 수행한다. 2, 3차원 변단면 구조물을 최적화 설계한 결과에 의하면 변단면 용접 H-형강으로 설계하는 것이 압연 H-형강보다 상당한 철골 절약효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 변단면 용접 H-형강으로 설계하는 경우 구조물의 종류에 따라 차이는 있지만 AISC2005 기준으로 설계하는 것이 AISC1989 기준보다 철골량이 줄어들었고, 부재 춤도 작게 설계되어 웨브 좌굴에 새 기준이 더 안전한 것으로 평가되었다. Structural design of most nonprismatic Pre-Engineered Building Systems (PEBS) is performed using optimizing software developed in foreign countries. In this study, a structural optimizing software for the design of 3-D structures of nonprismatic PEBS is developed according to the allowable stress design method of AISC2005 and KBC. Optimizing structural design with nonprismatic members is carried out by repeating the process of structural analysis and member design to minimize the weight of a structure. According to the optimizing design results of 2-D and 3-D structures with nonprismatic members, there are considerable steel savings in designing structures with nonprismatic H-shaped built-up sections rather than with H-shaped rolled sections. When H-shaped built-up sections were used, the weight of the structural steel was reduced when AISC2005 specification rather than AISC1898 was used in the design. It is therefore concluded that utilizing the new AISC2005 specification is safer in preventingweb buckling because the height of a member is designed to be small despite some differences depending on the structural type.

The machine vision system has been widely applied at automatic inspection field of the industries. Especially, the machine vision system shows good performance at difficult inspection field by contact method. In this paper, the automatic system of a slant method to inspect screw/bolt shape using machine vision is developed. The inspection system uses pattern matching method that search similar degree of the lucidity, the average lucidity, length and angle of inspection set up area using a circular scan and a line scan method. Also the feeding method for inspection product is the slant method, and feed rate is controlled by the ramp angle adjustment. This inspection system is composed of a feeding device, a transfer device, vision systems, a lighting device and computer, and is composed the sorting discharge system of the inferior product. The performance test carried out the feeding speed, the shape correct degree and the sorting discharge speed according to the type of screw/bolt. This sorting inspection system showed a satisfied test results in whole inspection items. Presently, this sorting inspection system is being used in the manufacturing process of screw/bolt usefully.
