For the evaluation of ride quality and durability analysis of vehicle components by computer simulation, it is indispensable to consider nonlinear characteristics of tire and road. Most linear tire models are restrictive to represent this effect in the simulation. This paper proposes how to regenerate the road profile which preserves the measured wheel accelerations at the wheel center with linear tire model. The new road profile compensates for the difference of wheel acceleration between experiment and simulation using the frequency response function. The validity of the method was verified by appling to a 1/4 car model.

In order to compare subjective and objective assessments, a passenger car was driven at several speeds over several road profiles. To measure the acceleration signals experienced by the seated subject who provided an subjective assessment, four triaxial translational accelerometers and one triaxial gyro sensor were mounted on the steering wheel and on the passenger seat and floor, respectively. Correlations were determined between the measured accelerations and the subjective assessments of 3 expert subjects and 9 general subjects using psychophysical power law.

The collaboration between businesses in a demand chain has three layers: Integration. Exchange, and Synchronize. The latter the layer is, the stronger the collaboration gets. This paper investigated drivers influencing intelligent demand chain integration strategy (supply integration, demand integration, demand chain integration) in Korea manufacturing and services. The drivers are classified into two types: rational efficiency driven and bandwagon driven. We find the differences in the characteristics of drivers affecting the strategies. Besides, this study suggests the better integration strategy for Korea firms. In conclusion it says that demand integration strategy is chosen to improve efficiency, whereas supply integration strategy is influenced by external pressure.<br/>
점탄성 감쇠기를 설치한 철골 구조물의 지진거동에 관한 수치해석적 연구

Seismic behavior of a 2/5-scale steel frame structure with added viscoelastic dampers is studied. Major emphases are placed on the dynamic characteristics of viscoelastic damper and the numerical simulations of structural response under earthquake ground motions. The experimental results clearly demonstrated the superior performance of the structure installed with the dampers under even severe earthquake excitations. Earthquake ground motions with peak accelerations of 0.60g caused no damage to the structure and dampers, while the structure without added dampers undergoes large inelastic deformations. In order to consider all the factors which affect the properties of viscoelastic dampers in the design, empirical formulae based on regression analysis using the data obtained from damper coupon tests are proposed. The reliability of using the modal strain energy method to predict the equivalent structural damping and seismic structural response is illustrated by correlating the numerical simulation with the experimental results of the viscoelastically damped structure. It is found that the dynamic behavior of structures with added viscoelastic dampers can be satisfactorily predicted by using currently available analytical tools.

This paper describes the results of an experimental study of the behavior of the Friction Pendulum System in bridge seismic isolation. Earthquake simulator tests have been performed on a model bridge structure both isolated with Friction Pendulum System bearings and non-isolated. The experimental results demonstrate a marked increase of the capacity of the isolated bridge to withstand earthquake forces under all conditions. The frictional properties of the bearings remain markedly stable after extensive testing. Permanent displacements, which may develop in all hysteretic isolation systems, are found to be very small and not cumulative in successive earthquakes.
