        생후 3개월부터 성장장애를 보이기 시작한 간뇌 증후군(Diencephalic Syndrome) 1례

        저자들은 생후 3개월부터 심한 성장장애를 보였던 남아가 14개월에 두 개 내 종양에 의해 발생한 간뇌증후군으로 진단되었기에 보고하는 바이다. 소아에서 적당한 양을 섭취하고 식욕이 유지됨에도 불구하고 현저한 성장장애와 체중 증가 부진을 보이는 경우에는 간뇌증후군의 감별이 필요할 것으로 사료된다. A 14-month-old child visited emergency room with stuporous mental state. He had been suffering from failure to thrive (FTT) and emaciation since three months of age, but he had good appetite and had been euphoric. A large mass was found in the third ventricle by brain CT and MRI. His parents refused operative removal of the mass and he expired 14 days after admission. It is necessary to include diencephalic syndrome in the differential diagnosis of failure to thrive when infants show FTT despite of good appetite and euphoric status.

        예견 및 $H_{\infty}$ 제어기법에 의한 연속 냉간 압연시스템의 두께 제어

        A robust controller to attenuate the various disturbances of tandem cold mills (TCM) is synthesized by measurement-feedback $H_{\infty}$ control techniques which can reflect the input direction of disturbances and the knowledge of entry thickness variation (disturbance) is synthesized by discrete-time measurement-feedback $H_{\infty}$ control theory. It is demonstrated that the $H_{\infty}$ preview control gain can be easily obtained by the seperation principle of the control and estimation problems in $H_{\infty}$ control. Finally the effectiveness of the proposed control method for TCM is evaluated by the computer simulation and compared to the other control methods which have been previously studied.

        $5\times5$ CNN 하드웨어 및 전.후 처리기 구현

        The cellular neural networks have shown a vast computing power for the image processing in spite of the simplicity of its structure. However, it is impossible to implement the CNN hardware which would require the same enormous amount of cells as that of the pixels involved in the practical large image. In this parer, the $5\times5$ CNN hardware and the pre post processor which can be used for processing the real large image with a time-multiplexing scheme are implemented. The implemented $5\times5$ CNN hardware and pre post processor is applied to the edge detection of $256\times256$ lena image to evaluate the performance. The total number of block. By the time-multiplexing process is about 4,000 blocks and to control pulses are needed to perform the pipelined operation or the each block. By the experimental resorts, the implemented $5\times5$ CNN hardware and pre post processor can be used to the real large image processing. 셀룰러 신경회로망(Cellular Neural Networks: CNN)은 그 구조가 간단함에도 불구하고 강력한 연산능력을 가지고 있어 영상처리에 이용되어 왔다. 그러나 실제의 대규모 영상에 포함된 화소의 양과 같은 막대한 셀들을 필요로 하는 CNN하드웨어를 구현하는 것은 불가능하다. 본 논문에서는 시 다중화 처리 기법으로 대규모 실영상을 처리할 수 있는 $5\times5$ CNN 하드웨어와 전 후 처리기를 구현하였다. 구현된 $5\times5$ CNN 하드웨어와 전 후 처리기의 성능을 평가하기 위해 $ 레나영상에 대해 윤곽선 검출을 수행하였으며, 약 4,000번의 시다중화 블록처리와 각 블록 마다 10번의 제어 펄스에 의한 파이프라인 동작에 의해 영상처리가 수행되었다. 따라서 본 논문에서 구현된 $5\times5$ CNN 하드웨어와 전 후 처리기를 실영상 처리에 이용할 수 있다.

        Painful legs and moving toes syndrome in a 16- year-old girl

        digits and pain in one or both lower extremities. Of the reported cases, a majority of the patients was female, and the mean age of onset was 58 years. Only one pediatric case has been reported so far. Herein, we report the first adolescent case of PLMT in Korea. A 16-year-old girl complained of tingling pain in the left leg and involuntary movement of the ipsilateral great toe one month after a second untethering surgery. Three years ago, she had undergone untethering surgery to correct lipomeningomyelocele at the S2 level of the conus medullaris. At that time, she was diagnosed with polyradiculopathy at the left L5 level with axonal involvement. We diagnosed her with PLMT syndrome and prescribed gabapentin. Her symptoms diminished within a day. Complete relief from involuntary movement of the toe was achieved within four months. PLMT is a rare syndrome but it should be considered in the differential diagnosis of children and adolescents with limb pain and spontaneous movement in their toes.

        Primary Water Stress Corrosion Cracking (PWSCC) Mechanism Based on Ordering Reaction in Alloy 600

        A PWSCC mechanism based on an ordering reaction in Alloy 600 is proposed. An activation energy for the ordering reaction in Alloy 600, Q = ~46 kcal/mole (~190 kJ/mole), are determined by a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC). The ordering reaction in Alloy 600 is an indispensable process during reactor operating conditions. The ordering reaction in Alloy 600 causes an anisotropic lattice contraction. This anisotropic contraction produces an additional stress. The stress level would be the maximum value about 70 and 300 MPa according to the lattice planes in Alloy 600 and Weld 182, respectively. In addition, the anisotropic contraction forms the micro cracks in the high angle grain boundary where the difference in lattice contraction is large. The formation of crack induces stress intensification at the crack tip, and this causes crack growth. The initiation and propagation of PWSCC is controlled by the formation, growth,and coalescence of micro cracks due to anisotropic lattice contraction by ordering. These whole processes are governed by the kinetics of the ordering reaction. This is the reason why the activation energy for PWSCC, Q pwscc = 40-50 kcal/mol, is consistent with that for the ordering reaction, Q ordering = 46 kcal/mol. This mechanism can be proved by the comparison of the initiation behavior in the ordered and the disordered specimens.

        실영상처리를 위한 셀룰러 신경망 설계

        셀룰러 신경망(Cellular Neural Network: CNN)은 간단한 처리요소인 셀들의 배열로 이루어져 있으며 각 셀들은 국부적인 연결특성과 공간불변 템플릿 특성을 갖는다. 따라서 CNN은 하드웨어로 구현하는데 매우 적합한 구조를 갖는다. 그러나 CNN 하드웨어 프로세서를 실제의 대형 영상의 화소와 1:1로 매핑하는 것은 불가능하다. 본 논문에서는 소규모의 CNN 셀 블록을 사용하여 대규모의 영상을 블록단위로 처리하는 실용적인 시다중화 영상처리 기법을 적용할 수 있는 파이프라인 입${\cdot}$출력을 갖는 $5{\times}5$ CNN 하드웨어 프로세서를 설계하였다. 그리고 윤곽선 검출과 그림자 검출 실험을 통하여 구현된 CNN 하드웨어 프로세서의 동작을 검증하였다. The cellular neural networks have the structure that consists of an array of the same cell which is a simple processing element, and each of the cells has local connectivity and space invariant template properties. So, it has a very suitable structure for the hardware implementation. But, it is impossible to have a one-to-one mapping between the CNN hardware processors and the pixels of the practical large image. In this paper, a $5{\times}5$ CNN hardware processor with pipeline input and output that can be applied to the time-multiplexing processing scheme, which processes the large image with a small CNN cell block, is designed. the operation of the implemented $5{\times}5$ CNN hardware processor is verified from the edge detection and the shadow detection experimentations.
