Ochrobactrum anthropi is an aerobic, gram-negative, motile, non-lactose-fermenting, oxidase-producing, and urease-positive bacillus. We reported a case of aortic valve endocarditis due to O. anthropi in a hemodialysis patient. To our knowledge, this is the first case of O. anthropi endocarditis in a hemodialysis patient in Korea. The organism was resistant to β-lactam antibiotics and susceptible to ciprofloxacin, amikacin, trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole, gentamicin and carbapenem. We treated O. anthropi endocarditis with meropenem for 6 weeks and the patient recovered completely.

Modern products are complicated and standards of reliability are higher than ever before. Therefore, prediction of system reliability is essential, especially as the time available for developing products has decreased. Most of the previous studies assumed that the causes of failure are random. That is, the failure rates of components follow exponential distributions. To reflect various types of failure such as initial, random, or wear-out failure, we developed a novel procedure for estimating system reliability based on the Weibull distribution. We analyzed the effect of component selection on the types of system failure. Finally, we verified the proposed method by analyzing warranty data on actual Korean products.
A NUMERAL CLASSIFIER ON THE EDGE: EVIDENCE FROM JAPANESE

The goal of the paper is to investigate the properties of syntactic edges with special attention to numeral quantifiers in Japanese. Building on the proposal that orderings in syntactic edges are restricted by probe-goal search and cyclic linearization (Ko 2005, 2007), this paper shows that the distribution of numeral quantifiers in Japanese show the effects expected in syntactic edges: namely that, a subject-oriented numeral quantifier cannot be separated from the associated subject by their vP-domain-mates. I provide empirical evidence for this claim from leftward subject scrambling, leftward numeral scrambling, and Control constructions in Japanese. The paper shows that seemingly different types of ordering restrictions in Japanese can be understood as the same effect: the Edge Generalization. It is also shown that previous accounts on floating numeral quantifiers in Japanese are either too weak or too strong to explain the full range of paradigms expected under the current proposal.
