‘어 놓다’と‘어 두다’の意味分析 - 認知言語學的觀点から -
岡智之 한중인문학회 2006 한중인문학연구 Vol.18 No.-
Semantic analysis of ‘eo nohta’ and ‘eo tuda’ in Korean from the perspective of the Cognitive Linguistics OKA Tomoyuki The purpose of this paper is to analyse the meanings of 'eo nohta' and 'eo tuda' in Korean, and to explain the differences of meanings of these two similar auxilialy verbs. Although both 'nohta' and 'tuda' have a similar meaning : an actor puts something on a certain place, there are semantic differences of these two Korean verbs. While 'nohta' emphasizes a stage of 'releasing a thing' before 'the thing reaching another place', 'tuda' emphasizes a stage of 'leaving something at a place' after 'putting something on the place.' Retaining the original meaning, each auxilialy verb presents some semantic differences. In other words, 'eo nohta' means 'completion of the action', and 'eo tuda' means 'keeping the result state of the action'. Contrary to initial expectations, the examples discussed in the paper have shown that, 'eo nohta' also has a meaning of 'keeping the result state'. Furthermore 'eo nohta' and 'eo tuda' have the subtle difference of usage. In addition, most of the these usages can be translated into Japanese as 'te‐oku'(put on). But the usage of 'completion' of 'eo nohta' cannot be translated into Japanese 'te‐oku'. However it can be transrated into 'te‐simau'(present perfect in English). From the perspective of cognitive linguistics, this paper illustrates the process in which the meaning of the auxiliary verb are grammaticalized from the meaning of the original verb.
