        고구마 및 볏짚의 발효사료제조시험

        Study on Koji fermentation feed of mixture composed of 1 part of ground sweet potato and 4 parts of ground rice straw were conducted to determine adequate adding levels of ammonium sulphate. double superphosphate of lime, calcium carbonate, and water in fermentation media. This experiment was designed with two levels selected in the preliminary trials for each four factors. 1. Addition of 4% ammonium sulphate, 8% double superphosphate of lime, 4% calcium carbonate, and 90% water in the media represented best result in pure protein contents of dry matter. 2. There were significant interaction between ammonium sulphate and calcium carbonate, and among double superphosphate of lime, calcium carbonate, and water. 3. The Fermented koji feed increased from initial 3% to 8% in pure protein content.

        김치 및 김에서 분리한 호기성(好氣性) 세균의 동정에 관하여

        The results of re-examination for the isolates D-28, D-28a from Kimchi and 88-3 from liver are summarized as follows: 1). All these isolates were proved to be Gram positive, catalase positive and spore-forming. 2). While these strains were not consistent with Bacillus megaterium group with respect to Voges-Proskauer reaction and methyl red test, their cultural characteristics were well consistent with this group. 3). These isolates showed the similar suger-fermentability as B. megaterium group with a slight difference. 4). It is proved that, according to the forgoing results and vitamin B_(12) producibility, the isolate 88-3 is identical with B. megalerium NRRL-B 938 and D-28, D-28a, with B. megaterium 425-1 and 425-2, respectively.

        비행성(Flying Qualities)의 발전과정

        이 기술해설은 1989년 7-8월호 Journal of Guidance and Control (Vol. 12, No. 4)에 실린 William H. Phillips의 "Flying Qualities from Early Airplanes to the Space Shuttle"의 논문을 발췌, 번영한 것이다. 여기서는 비행성 연구에 관한 역사적인 발전과정과 비행성 요구조건의 변천에 대하여 그 내용을 비행성의 영역, 초기의 발전과정, 요구조건에 관한 연구, 지령식 조종계통, 돌풍반응과의 관계, 그리고 비행성의 예측과 양식(format)등으로 구분하여 간단히 소개한다.

        This experiment was conducted under the joint research work on lowland rice fertilization. The result was summarized as described below. 1. Nitrogen played a determinative role in growth, tillering, and yield of rice plants. 2. The adequate amount of nitrogen to be applied at the time of basic application here was considered to be over 3 kg per 10 are. 3. The uptake of nitrogen from the fertilizer by rice plants was most efficient when the fertilizer was applied at the time of prime growth. However, the most efficient utilization of nitrogen did not necessarily acompany the maximum yield of rice. 4. The basic application and carly top dressing of the fertilizer appeared to be efficient for betterment of rice yeild. 5. the efficiency of phosphorus was not likely affected by time and rate of nitrogen application.

        발효사료 제조시험 제2보 , 고구마 및 볏짚 Koji 제조시 우량균주선택시험

        Trials for selecting superior microorganism in the process of Koji fermentation with mixed sweet potato and rice straw meals were carried out at the Livestock Experiment Station from the end of 1962 to early spring of 1963. 42 strains of Aspergillus oryzae and 5 species of other molds were seperately used in three groups of experiments, and 15 strains selected from the three trials were applied in last experiment. 1. Statistical analysis showed that there mere highly significant differences among the pure protein contents of the fermented feed in all the experiments. 2. It was found that Aspergillus niger gave the best result, however, it was not be selected due its unfavorable smell and color. 3. Though Asaergillus oryzae №4 gave lees better than the Aspergillus niger, the former was finally selected as the superior strain because no significant difference was found between the two strains.

        Adenine 요구변이주의 분리에 관한 연구

        In order to obtain amino acids and nucleic acid derivatives from adenine auxotrophic mutants of Bacillus subtilis and Escherichia coli, vitamin, nucleic acid analogue, streptomycin as well as ultraviolet light were adopted for the production of adenine auxotrophic mutants and the results showed efficient production of desired mutants. 1. Ultraviolet ray(2530 Å 2080 erg/㎟) irradiation to Bacillus subtilis and E. cola at a distance of 30 ㎝ for 80-90 sec. and for 15-20 sec. respectively induced four and eight strains of auxotrophic mutants. 2. Treatment of aminopterine(200㎍/㎖) inhibited the growth of Bacillus sulitilis significantly but a subsequent irradiation of ultraviolet light at the above mentioned conditions induced six times as much mutants as compared to the irradiation alone. In case of E. coli a similar tendency was observed with treatment of streptomycin(200 ㎍/㎖) with doubled induction rate of adenine auxotropizic mutants as compared to the irradiation alone.

        한국산 고구마의 화학적 조성에 관한 연구

        For the studies an the Chemical compositions of Sweet potatoes grown in Korean soil, Suwon No. 118 and Suwon No. 147 were applied as the samples during growing period, and 15 varieties of sweet potatoes as the samples for comparisons among them. As the results ef the studies followings were obtained. Changes of the chemical compositions of root tuber during growing period. 1. Total weights of root tubers and mean weight per root tuber were increased gradually as grew with the values of Suwon No. 147 is higher than that of Suwon No. 118 except the weight of Suwon No. 147 on September 9. 2. The moisture content of the roots were fairy uniform. 3. While the starch contents and crude starch yield in the root tuber were gradually increased with almost parallel as grew except the values of Suwon No. 147 on September 7. were markedly higher. 4. The total weight of the Sweet potatoos per Dan-Bo (about 0.25 acre) showed increased values with Suwon No. 147 is higher than Suwon No. 118 except the unexpected lower weight of Suwon No. 147 on September 9. and the crude starch yield of Suwon No. 147 per Dan-Bo also showed higher values than that of Suwon No. 118 with almost parallel increase of them as they grew. 5. Reducing sugar contents of them showed gradual decreases at earlier stages then increases at latter stages as grew, and total sugar and sucrose of them also showed gradual increases except extremly higher contents of Suwon No. 147 and lover values of Suwon No. 118 on September 9. 6. Total protein and soluble protein contents of them showed that initial and last stages of the growth are in higher values but middle stages are fairy low values with a little changes of difference between total protein, and soluble protein. The comparisons among those varieties. 7. The moisture contents of root tuber varies from 63% to 72% among them. 8. The starch contents of Suwon No. 118 (23.9%) is highest value among them, Ko-Ke No. 14 and Won-Ki successively lower and Dae-Nong No. 45 is the lowest one. Crude starch yield (%) of Ko-Ke No. 14 and Won-Ki successively lower and Dae-Nong No. 45 is the lowest one. Crude starch yield (%) of Ko-Ke No. 147 is highest value, Suwon No. 118. Won-Ki are successively lower and Do-Ip is the lowest one. 9. Won-Ki is highest value in reducing sugar content, and Do-Ip No. 2 is lowest one in it. The sucrose content of Chil-Bok is highest and Won-Ki is lowest among them. Soluble total sugar content of Yu-Sim is in highest and Chun-Mi is in lowest value. 10. Total protein content showed that Suwon No. 147 is in highest value and Yu-Sim is in lowest one. On the other hand, soluble protein contents showed that Chil-Bok is in highest value and Yu-Sim is in lowest one.

        국균(麴菌) 발효사료의 Methionine 합성에 관한 연구

        To make a methionine rich feed with the potato starch waste product, a study on the methionine synthesis by the Aspergillus oryzae and its mutants was carried out through the synthetic and potato starch waste product media. The strains 11021 and C₁ 302 F₁ were selected as the methionine productive strains from fourty strains and mutants which were induced by one of the authors. The addition of metal ions and yeast extract, as the Vitamin B_(12) source, show little effect to the methionine synthesis, but good response to the growth of the strains. It was cleared, however, that the methionine synthesis was markedly enhanced in the potato starch waste media in which formaldehyde, as C₁ unit, was added together with folic acid, metal ions and yeast extract, as the cofactor. The percentage of the methionine to the pure protein of the fermentated potato starch waste feed increased to 2.10 from 0.15. The maximum utilization of the ammoniacal nitrogen into the mycel protein was 78%. In view point of the effect of C₁ unit and Pteroyl glutamic acid to the methionine synthesis, it was assumed that Aspergillus oryzae might synthese methionine similar to Escherichia coli and Nenrospora crassa.
