I attempted to decide the value of the exponent(n) in the Freundlich's adsorption isothermal equation when the equation in employed for Silica. Gel. Between 0.02 and 0.3, of volume fractions(z), selection adsorption amounts show straight lines in the diagram, which corresponds to Freundlich's equation. And the exponent(n) was obtained from the slope of the line. According to experiment, the exponent(n) approaches I(one) when there is little adsorption affinify between adsorbable reagents of solvent and adsorption components in the solution. As the adsorptivity of adsorbing component increases, the value of the exponent(n) decreases.
천연 Zeolite 觸媒에 의한 CO의 酸化에 關한 硏究

The catalytic oxidation of CO has been investigated on Natural zeolite at temperature from 150℃ to 270℃ under various 〔CO〕and 〔O₂〕conditions. The oxidation rates have been correlated with 1.5 order kinetics ; first order with respect to CO and .0.5 order with respect to O₂. The reaction rate was increased with increasing temperature and CO concentration. Activation energy was calulated as 8.663 kcal /g-mol and frequency factor, 1. 039×10⁴from Arrhenius plot. CO appears to be adsorbed essentially on the O lattice of zeolite, while O² was adsorbed on an O vacancy as an ionic species. The oxidation mechanism is inferred at given temperature between CO concentration and kinetic data. It is suggested that CO adsorption is the rate-controlling.

Polymerug Drug의 합성과 그 특성에 관한 연구(Ⅲ) : Experiments with polyacrylamide and acetylsalicylic acid

Over the past 30 years, drug delivery technology has made significant advances. Drug delivery has increasingly come to be recognized as offering a means of optimizing therapy with established drugs through a better understanding of factors affecting drug absorption, drug release kinetics, drug distribution, pharamacokinetis, bioavailability and toxicity, Synthetic procedures to synthesize polymeric drug were searched by acid chloride method, N, N' -dicyclohexylcarbodiimide method and mixed acid anhydride method. The compound was synthesized by N, N' -dicyclohexylcarbodlimide method and mixed acid anhydride method but could not be synthesized by acid chloride method. With the water-soluble polymer of polyacrylamide as drug carrier and acetylsalicylic acid as drug, its suitability for the controlled drug delivery system was investigated. The structures of polymeric drugs were characterized by EA, ¹H-NMR & IR spectroscopic methods. The intrinsic viscosity(η) of the polymeric drugs was 0.819㎤/g, 0.823㎤/g & 0.825㎤/g, respectvelly. The activation energy(Ea) of the polymeric drugs was decreased with increasing the concentration of acetylsal icyilc acid. Mathematical analysis of the release data showed that the release behavior actually conforms with the Higuchi's diffusion-controlled model.

Charge-transfer complexes of methal-phthalocyanines (electron-donor) with distilled water or ethanol in organic solvent such as pyridine were identified by infrared and ultra violet-visible spectro-photometry. The stability constant and the molar extinction coefficient of the complex of Co-phtha-locyanine and ethanol were determined by Benesi-Hildebrand equation and the extrapolation method. The results were as follows ; 1. the interaction of Co-Pc and ethanol formed a 1:1 complex. 2. both Co-Pc and Zn-Pc were able to form complex with water or ethanol. 3. the complex of Co-Pc and ethanol was able to know the charge transfer complex without an intermolecular vibration mode. 4. the stability constant K and absorption coefficient in Co-Pc and ethanol complex were K=0.144, ε=408.
Energetic surface heterogeneity of nanocrystalline TiO2 films for dye-sensitized solar cells

Dye sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) have been receiving significant attention because they have many advantages compared to conventional organic solar cells. It has been known that the photovoltaic characteristics of DSSC are highly dependent on the adsorption properties of dyes on TiO 2 films. To analyze the surface heterogeneity of TiO 2 surfaces, single-phase anatase nanocrystallite titanium films were prepared by sol-gel method using the hydrolysis reaction of titanium tetraisopropoxide under acidic condition and characterized by XRD, FE-SEM and BET analysis. The adsorption energy distribution functions were calculated by the generalized nonlinear regularization method. It was found that the shape and the intensity of the adsorption energy distribution curve determined were highly related with the physical properties (i.e., geometrical heterogeneity) and chemical characteristics (i.e., energetic heterogeneity) of nanocrystalline TiO 2 for DSSC.
