The author studied on the effect of planting-depths and planting-methods in formation of stem-bulblet and fleshness of parent-bulb in Georgia Lily, Lilium Longi florum THUNB. "Georgia" to find the best method of bulblet production. The results are summarized as follows : 1. Although there were more bulblets in the horizontal-planting methods covered thrice and quadruple of bulb-height and inverse-planting method covered thrice, the best method of bulblet production was, in view of fleshness of bulblets and parent-bulbs, straight-planting method covered thrice. 2. There were more bulblet in the range of 3cm bellow the soil surface, and formation of bulbet showed the tendency that the closer to the closer to the soil surface the more closely adhered stem-bulblets. 3. In view of fleshness, the best bulblets were found in the range of 3-9cm below the soil surface. 4. In the fleshness of parent-bulb, it was better in straight-planting method than in other methods, but there was no significance concerning the planting-depths in the straight-planting method.
대기 중 다환방향족탄화수소 측정방법의 성능평가 - 하이볼륨 샘플링 및 GC/MS 분석방법을 대상으로

In this study, a measurement method was evaluated for the determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in the ambient atmosphere. PAHs were sampled by high-volume samplers, and were then analysed with a GC/MS system. Particulate PAHs were collected on $8"{\times}10"$ quartz fiber filter, while vapor phase PAHs were adsorbed on polyurethane foam (PUF). Target compounds included a total of 36 PAHs, which are known to be frequently detected in the urban atmosphere. It was not necessary to clean-up samples before samples were analyzed using GC/MS, and the overall performance of the method was tested by a variety of quality control and quality assurance schemes. It is generally known that the clean-up procedure can negatively affect the recovery of samples. Precision and accuracy was evaluated using SRM provided by US NIST, and the results were generally satisfactory and reliable. However, the GC/MS method appeared not to be adequate for 6-rings PAHs, such as coronene, due to its lower sensitivity. In addition, collection efficiencies for low molecular compounds, such as 2-rings PAHs, were poor because of the lower retention volume of the PUF adsorbent. As a result, it was concluded that the method based on high-volume sampling and GC/MS analysis can give very reliable data by simultaneous sampling of both particulate and vapor phases for 3-rings to 5-rings PAHs of environmental concern.
연탄재의 園藝的利用에 관한 硏究 : 花卉植物의 繁殖用土로서의 利用效果 Utility Value as Rooting media for Ornamental plant

This study was conducted to evaluate the value of briquet ash as a component of rooting media for ornamental plant. Twelve rooting media were made in mixture at different proportion by volume and alone using sand, vermiculite and briquet ash as a component of soil mixture. PH value and water holding capacity of these 12 media were determined. In order to investigate the effect of rooting media on rooting response of cuttings in Chrysanthemum morifolium, C. frutescens, Mesembryanthemum spectabile and Lobelia erinus, cuttings of these 4 species were inserted in 12 media. The important conclutions of this study are summarized as follows; 1. pH value of briquet ash was higher than that of sand or vermiculite. pH value of briquet ash was reduced after using for rooting medium, but that of sand or vermiculite were not reduced. 2. Period of water holding of briquet ash was longer than that of sand. Therefore, it was obious that utilization of briquet ash as rooting medium might save the effort for water supply. 3. Number of root of cutting rooted in briquet ash was more than that is sand in C. morifolium, but was less in L. erinus. There were no significiant difference between briquet ash and sand in C. frutescens and M. spectabile. 4. Length or root were longer in sand than briquet ash in L. erinus and M. spectabile, but there were no significant difference between briquet ash and sand in C. morifolium and C. frutescens. 5. Briquet ash are effective rooting medium for many species of ornamental plant, but better result may be obtained when it used in mixture with other rooting media.
심한 치조제 흡수를 보이는 무치악 환자에서 임시 의치를 사용한 기능 인상에 의한 총의치 수복 증례

연성 이장재는 점탄성적 특수성으로 인하여 인상 채득 후 바로 치과용 경석고를 주입할 시, 기능 인상에 사용할 수 있다. 본 증례는 78세의 남성으로 새로운 의치를 제작하고 싶다는 주소로 내원하였다. 하악 치조제의 심한 흡수로 인하여, 폐구법을 통한 기능 인상을 채득하기로 계획하였다. 먼저, 상, 하악 임시 의치의 제작을 시행하고, 연성 이장재를 내면에 도포하여 압박된 상, 하악 무치악 치조제의 치유를 유도하였다. 이후, 회복된 상, 하악 치조제에 맞게 내면이 변형된 상, 하악 임시 의치를 이용하여 폐구법을 통한 기능 인상을 채득하였으며, 상악 임시 의치의 치아 배열을 참고하여 최종 의치를 제작하였다. 이상과 같이 완전 무치악 환자에서 임시 의치를 이용하여 기능 인상을 채득하여 만족스러운 유지와 기능을 회복할 수 있었기에 본 증례를 보고하고자 한다. Soft liner is used to functional impression technique when dental stone is immediately poured after taking impression because of viscoelasticity. In this case, a 78-year-old male visited for new dentures. Due to severe resorption of mandibular edentulous ridge, functional impression taking by closed mouth technique was planned. First of all, making maxillary and mandibular provisional dentures was done, and lined by soft liner to rehabilitate pressured maxillary and mandibular edentulous ridge. After this, Functional impression was taken by closed mouth technique using provisional dentures which are transformed to healed maxillary and mandibular edentulous ridge, and final denture were fabricated using maxillary provisional denture as a reference of artificial teeth arrangement. Consequently, restoring a complete edentulous patient with taking functional impression using provisional dentures resulted in recovering satisfying retention and function.

This study was conducted to evaluate the value of briquet ash as a componet of rooting media. In order to investigate the effect of rooting media on rooting response of cuttings in Chrysanthemum morifolium and Phlox subulata, twelve rooting media were made in mixture at different proportion by volume of sand, vermiculite and briquet ash as components of rooting medium. pH value and water holding capacity of media were determined and rooting response of cuttings were calculated. The important conclutions of this study are summarized as follows; 1. The water holding capacity of briquet ash was quardruple of sand. 2. The rooting response of cuttings was better in the medium of briquet ash alone and the media contained briquet ash as component of media than other menufactured media. 3. There were significant positive correlation between rooting ratio of cuttings and number of root, length of root per rooted cuttings. 4. It is considerable that root development of moss pink is prosperous in alkaline media. 5. The cuttings rooted in sand alone produced unbranched, coarse and brittle root, but cuttings rooted in briquet ash produced well branched, slender and more flexible root. 6. The better result may be obtain in briquet ash mixed with other material than briquet ash alone.
