Gene frequencies of milk protein from 185 Holstein-Friesian cattle (107 normal milk and 78 mastitis milk) in Korea were determined by means of starch gel electrophoresis for αs₁-casein, β-casein, K-casein, and β-lactoglobulin variants and relationships between these genetic variants and bacterial mastitis were investigated. Gene frequencies of the milk protein loci of Holstein-Friesian cattle in Korea are fairly similar to those of previous reports. In mastitis milk, however, frequency of β-lactoglobulin B (0.699) was exceptionally higher than that of β-lactoglobulin A (0.373). The other protein loci showed generally the same appearance between normal and mastitis milk. In the analysis of relationship between genetic polymorphisms and bacterial mastitis, the β-lactoglobulin system alone indicated significant appearance of phonotypes differences. Homozygous β-lactoglobulin BB in mastitis milk was approximately 16% higher than that of normal milk, However, homozygous β-lactoglobulin AA and heterosygous AB had lower percentage (approximately 8%) than those of normal milk. From these results, it may suggest that β-lactoglobulin A gene has a stronger resistance to the bacterial mastitis than β-lactoglobulin B gene and homozygous β-lactoglobulin BB pheonotype has low resistance in bacterial mastitis. No significant differences were found in the other protein loci analyzed.

In the physical characterization of an individual, a measure of body weight of patient is fundamental importance for veterinary service. This study was conducted in order to a biometric study on the simple methods of estimating body weight by the physical measurement data on the subject were collection from Korean Agricultural Cooperation Data Books. As a result of this study, the following conculsions were made. 1) The correlation coefficient of body weight and chest-girth of Korean native cattle (cow) was highly significant as r=+0.997(p>0.01) and its induced regression equation was shown as the following; Y=4.07x-349.2 (* Y is body weight in kg, X is chest-girth in cm) And the correlation coefficient between body weight and chest-girth of the Korean native bull was r=+0.988 (p<0.01), the inducion from it, we obtained the following regression equation; Y=4.686x-424.713 (* Y is body weight in kg, x is chest-girth in cm) 2) As estimation of body weight of cattle from measurement of chest-girth the equation of regression was less in error than the relative chest-girth method.

This study undertaken in order investigate the effects of electro-acupuncture for the dogs with traumatic paralysis of hindquarters. The kind of dogs with paralysis of hindquarters used in this study were 12 bilaterals, 5 right sides, and 4 left sides, but all dogs were without bone injury on X-ray. Electro-acupuncture was performed with a current of 2-4 Volts and 25Hz at the acupuncture point of Tchuk-Joong(positive), Back-Hoe(negative), and Sam-Eum Kyo(negative) for 25-30 minutes a day. The definition of "effectiveness" was stand up alone, "ineffectiveness" was impossible to stand up alone. 1. The 21 cases appyling electro-acupuncture resulted in 14 effectiveness(67%) and 7 ineffectiveness(33%). 2. It was judged that the combination of acupuncture points to Tchuk-Joong, Back-Hoe, and Sam-Eum Kyo was effective for the dogs with paralysis of hindquarters. 3. It was recognized that the effects of electro-acupuncture was good in the traumatic neurologic disturbance without bone injury.
Vitamin AD₃및 高壓酸素가 骨折治癒 에 미치는 影響

This study was designed to compare the therapeutic effects of vitamin AD₃ combination or hyperbaric oxygen for the healing of experimental fracture in rats. The rats were orally administrated with vitamin AD₃combination(0.125mg/kg body weight) or exposured under 2 atmospheres oxygen(50% or 100%) for 21 days. The effect of vitamin AD₃combination and hyperbaric oxygen were evaluated by roentgenographic and histological examination at 5, 10 and 21 days after treatment. 1. Roentgenographically, the initial healing sign of fractured bone was appeared at 21 days after treatment in rats treated orally with vitamin AD₃combination as well as rats exposured to 2 atmospheres oxygen(100%) but at 10days in rats exposured to 2 atmospheres oxygen(50%). 2. Hisologically, primary callus formation was evident at 21 days in rats administrated orally with vitamin AD₃combination. While tissue deficits were completly replaced by fibrous tissue at 5 days followed by change of fibrous cartilage tissues into osteoidal tissues at 21 days in rats exposured to 2 atmospheres oxygen(50%). In rats exposured to 2 atmospheres oxygen(100%), cartilage and osteoidal tissues were appeared and ossification was enhanced from 5 days after treatment.
익단 분출이 있는 날개표면의 압력분포에 관한 실험 연구

중국의 남경항공항천대학에 있는 시험부 3m x 2.5m의 저속 풍동을 이용하여 직사각형 반날개의 끝에 원형 익단분출관을 장착하여 압축공기를 분출할 때 날개표면의 압력분포에 대한 실험연구를 하였다. 원형 분출관은 날개 끝에 시위방향으로 장착된 동관으로서 측면에 분출공이 설치되어 있다. 본 연구에서는 분출각도, 분출운동량계수, 분출공의 위치 등을 변화시키면서 날개끝에서 압축공기를 분출할 때와 분출하지 않았을 때의 날개표면의 압력분포 특성을 조사하였다. 실험결과 날개끝에서 분출을 할 경우에 날개끝부분에서 압력분포에 영향을 미치고 스팬방향으로 공기력의 증가를 가져오는 효과가 있음을 알 수 있다. An experimental study was conducted in the NH-2 subsonic wind tunnel (test section 3m x 2.5m) located at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, China, to determine surface pressure over rectangular semi span wing with tip blowing using circular blowing tube. The circular blowing tube was made of a copper tube with multiple blowing holes and was installed at the wing tip along chordwise. In this study, the data were measured for the wing with and without wing tip blowing. Selected data at several test condition varying blowing angle. jet momentum coefficient and blowing holes location are discussed to show pressure distribution trends. The test results showed that the wing tip blowing mainly affected the pressure distribution of the outboard region of the wing and increased the spanwise loading near the tip.
