Eco T-shirts have become a part of environmental campaigns following social trends toward eco-friendly designs. With the demand for such designs expected to grow, there has arisen a need for higher product variety. In the past, eco T-shirts were designed to convey messages about the protection of nature through the use of environmentally friendly text or images. However, in order to respond to the preferences and emotional needs of Koreans, designs should cater to their characteristics and tastes. To this end, this study used a Whan-ki Kim-inspired motif to develop an eco-friendly design tailored to Korean perspectives. It is believed that this process can not only result in a distinctive eco T-shirt design, but also make it globally competitive. With regard to research methodology, a total of 41 paintings of Whan-ki Kim were analyzed and classified into four major themes or key values expressed in modern eco-friendly fashion designs: naturalness, indigenousness, harmony between nature and man, and harmony between natural and artificial beauty. Employing a wide range of CAD techniques and varying forms, the themes were developed into 28 T-shirt designs after their forms, tones, and textures were fully explored. This study demonstrates the possibility of designing creative, aesthetic, and high value-added eco T-shirts through motif development. In addition, it successfully integrates Korean paintings in the development of T-shirt designs aimed at communicating environmentally friendly messages.
회귀이상점 식별 알고리즘의 계산효율성과 정확성의 개선에 관한 연구

Hadi와 Simonoff(1993)가 제안한 회귀이상점 식별방법은 자료에 이상점이 다수 포함된 경우에도 이상점들을 효과적으로 식별할 수 있는 것으로 알려졌다. 그러나 식별 알고리즘의 미 단계에서 유사한 진단치를 반복적으로 계산하여 이를 바탕으로 이상점을 식별하기 위한 검정을 하므로 이에 요구되는 계산의 양이 매우 방대하다. 각 반복단계에서 기본부분집합이나 깨끗한 부분집합의 구성 형태를 분석한 결과, 소수의 관찰치만 변동되며 특히 하나의 관찰치만이 새로운 부분집합에 추가되는 경우가 많다는 사실을 확인하였다. 따라서 최신화 기법을 적용하여 필요한 계산을 효율적으로 실행할 수 있는 방법을 제안하였으며, 모의실험을 통하여 제안된 방법의 계산효율성이 우수함을 입증하였다. 한편, 구성된 부분집합의 자료는 악조건상태의 행렬인 경우가 많으므로 수치안정성에 문제가 발생하여 계산의 정확성이 낮아진다. 따라서 QR분해기법에 의해 진단치들을 계산하는 방안을 강구하였으며, 나아가서 계산의 정확성을 높이기 위해 반복 정제기법의 적용을 제안하였다. We investigate a procedure proposed by Hadi and Simonoff(1993) for the identification of multiple outliers in linear regression. The procedure is effective in the detection of multiple outliers, does not require presetting the number of outliers, does not require Monte Carlo simulation to determine cutoff values, and is relatively resistant to masking and swamping problems. However, it requires a great deal of computation since the diagnostics should be computed at each iteration. We have found that a small number of observations are changed, and at many iterations only one observation is added to the basic or clean subsets. Thus, to improve its computational efficiency, we propose an updating technique which can be applied to the computation of hat matrix, estimate of regression coefficients, residuals, and estimate of variances. Also the performance of the proposed technique is compared with that of the existing computing method on the basis of real and simulated data sets. It appears, from the Monte Carlo experiments, that the proposed technique is more computationally efficient than the existing one. On the other hand, since subsets constructed at each iteration are usually ill-conditioned, the numerical instability problem occurs and hence provokes inaccurate computations. Thus, QR-decomposition approach is employed to deal with the numerical instability problem, and the iterative refinement technique is used to obtain more accurate diagnostics.

Most of the municipal wastewater treatment plants operated in Korea are designed for high concentrations municipal sewage. However, activated sludge process employed by municipal wastewater traetment plant is operated at low organic loading. The objective of this study was to determine optimum operating condition of activated sludge process for treatment of low concentration municipal sewage. Three bench scale activated sludge reactors were operated to investigate the effect of HRT and SRT on the COD and TKN removal efficiency. The average concentration of TSS, SCOD, SBOD and TKN in influent were 118mg/l. 61mg/l, 2lmg/l, and 12mg/l, respectively. The activated sludge reactors operated with various HRT and SRT showed about 89-93% TSS removal efficiency. HRT and SRT does not affect the TSS removal efficiency of actvatied sludge process significantly. However, HRT affected the SCOD removal efficiency slightly. As the HRT decreases from 13hours to 3hours, the SCOD removal efficiency decreases from 67% to 56%. The average effluent TCOD concentration of the reactor operated with 3hours of HRT was approximatly 40-45mg/l. Biological yield coefficient(Y) range from 0.79mgMLSS/mgCODrem. to 1.35mg MLSS/mg CO Drem. Hydraulic detention time affected the rate of sludge production. Low contration municipal sewage can be treated with 3hours of hydraulic detention time without of affect quality deterioration SRT did not affect the COD removal efficiency.
Vernacular Approach of Design According to Cultural Perspective

The reason we should investigate culture is that it is not only a method for studying individuals, but also a base to understand the society and the nation itself. As a result of this understanding, various development directions for the society or the industrial fields can be deduced. Design is a symbol of th culture and also a standard of the culture level of the region or the era in concern. Because culture is the symbolized world of a group which belongs to certain region and era, product and sense of value of actions, and also a result of a visible substantialized symbol system. Therefore the culture and the design have intimate relations and affect each other. Korean design history is comparatively short and now this is time for groping various development possibilities according to big flow of change in digital era. Modern design, as a field of study, was delivered and developed gorgeously in the Western countries such as USA AND UK. Even though Korea has a late starting point, it is considered to have a possibility of creating respectable designs based on the cultural results of perpetual history. This investigation seeks for the characteristic and development directions of Korean Vernacular design, through Korean culture and history.
