Isothermal compression tests were carried out to study the hot deformation behavior of T2 copper under various conditions. The deformation parameters, such as temperature and strain rate, have strong influence on flow stress and microstructureevolution of the alloy. A unified dislocation density-based model considering dynamic recovery and recrystallization wasestablished. And material parameters of the developed model were optimized by genetic algorithm. Comparisons betweenthe experimental and model data demonstrates that the developed model can precisely describe the flow behavior at quitewide range of deformation conditions. Meanwhile, the designed iterative procedure allows the model to be applied in timevariantdeformation conditions. Processing map and microstructure examination were constructed to optimize the processingwindow of the studied alloy. According to the processing maps, flow instability mainly appeared at low temperatures of500–650 °C and strain rates higher than 0.1 s−1. The optimum deformation parameters of T2 copper was concluded as thetemperature range of 700–800 °C and the strain rate of 0.1–1 s−1.

Purpose: Cutaneous lymphocyte-associated antigen (CLA)-expressing CD8+T cells have been known to play an important role in the pathogenesis of atopic dermatitis(AD). However, the mechanisms underlying the loss of self-tolerance remainunclear. Regulatory T cells (Tregs) play a key role in the development of homeostasisin the immune system. We, therefore, hypothesized that a reduced ability of Tregs to inhibit autologous CD8+CLA+T cells might be underlying mechanism in AD. Materials and Methods: CD8+CLA+T cells and Tregs were obtained from the peripheral blood of AD patients and control volunteers. The frequenciesof CD8+CLA+T cells were evaluated. The proliferative responses of CD8+CLA+T cells were assessed by flow cytometry, and the levels of transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) and interleukin-10 (IL-10) in culture supernatants were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Results: Our results revealed higher frequency and increased expression of perforin and granzyme-B in peripheralCD8+CLA+T cells in AD, and lower inhibitory ability of Tregs on proliferation of CD8+CLA+T cells in AD. Meanwhile, the levels of TGF-β1 produced by Tregs were significantly lower in AD, and anti-TGF-β1 abolished such suppression. Conclusion: The attenuated inhibitory ability of Tregs on hyper-activated autologousCD8+CLA+T cells, mediated by TGF-β1, plays an important role in the pathogenesis of AD.

Squeeze casting is a near net shaping technology which is advantageous to refining the microstructures and improving themechanical properties. In the present work, in-situ Al3Ti/2024 Aluminum matrix composites with different amount of Al3Tireinforcements were successfully fabricated by ultrasonic treatment and subsequent squeeze casting. The effects of specificpressure and the amount of reinforcements on microstructures and mechanical properties were studied. The results show thatwhen the specific pressure is increased from 0 to 150 MPa, the average grain sizes of α-Al matrix are decreased by 39.8%, andthe yield strength and compressive strength are increased by 16.8% and 22.9%, respectively. However, severe segregationsof eutectic structures were generated under an excessive specific pressure of 200 MPa, which also results in deterioration inthe mechanical strength. The mass fraction of Al3Tiphases has significant influence on morphology of eutectic structures. When the mass fraction of Al3Tiphases is increased from 4 to 16 wt%, the eutectic structures was changed from continuousnetwork to dispersed structures gradually. The compressive strength was increased from 611.2 to 712.0 MPa (increasedby 16.5%), as the Al3Ticontent increasing from 0 to 16 wt%. However, as the mass fraction of Al3Tiphases increased, thevariation in the yield strength is not monotonically increasing.

Background: A prior study showed blood type A/AB to be associated with an increased risk of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) compared to subjects with blood type O. However, the relationship between ABO blood groups and prognosis of NPC patients is still questionable. In addition, whether Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection is associated with prognosis of NPC patients with different ABO blood groups is unclear. Materials and Methods: We conducted univariate and multivariable Cox regression analyses based on a consecutive cohort of 1,601 patients to investigate the above issues. Results: There was no significant difference in overall survival (OS) between different ABO blood groups (p=0.629), neither between A vs. non-A blood groups (p=0.895) nor AB vs. non-AB blood group (p=0.309) in univariate analyses and after adjusting for other factors. Interaction tests revealed that high immunoglobulin A against Epstein-Barr virus viral capsid antigen (VcA-IgA) level was associated with a favorable prognosis in male patients with UICC stage II disease who had an A blood type (p=0.008), compared with those with non-A blood type. In addition, male patients with an A blood group with a high blood lymphocyte level showeda tendency towards better survival in UICC stage III (p=0.096). Conclusions: ABO blood group status is not associated with the prognosis of patients with NPC. Additionally, blood group A male NPC patients with high VcA-IgA level or high blood lymphocyte counts might be correlated with a favorable prognosis in UICC stage II or III, respectively.
Thermo-Mechanical Behavior of Long-Bored Energy Pile: A Full-Scale Field Investigation

A geothermal energy pile is a revolutionary piling technique that combines a pile foundation with a ground source heat pump system that not only supports the structure but also provides heating and cooling for buildings and bridges. The thermo-mechanical behavior of long energy piles in soft clay has rarely been investigated, despite their increasing utilization. A long floating energy pile with a length-to-diameter ratio of 66.7 was evaluated on its own and monitored in service of the supported structure in the city of Kunshan, China. With vertical mechanical loads, the experiment involved alternate cooling and heating cycles, allowing for careful analysis and assessment of the pile's temperature, stress, and displacement. Temperature-induced stress, axial force, and friction resistance of the pile shaft, as well as the change in displacement of the energy pile throughout building, were all studied. The field observations revealed without any surprise that a longer energy pile outperformed a shorter one in terms of heating exchange capacity with a more homogenous temperature distribution along the pile. Following a quasi-linear relationship with the temperature variation, the thermo-induced additional axial force soared with the larger length-diameter ratio of the pile and may even reach four times that of the pile under pure mechanical loads. Important additional settlements were also observed especially in cooling conditions. The shaft frictions along the long bored energy pile were found to have a complicated distribution, which requires further investigations.

In the Internet of Medical Things, due to the sensitivity of medical information, data typically need to beretained locally. The training model of heart disease data can predict patients' physical health status effectively,thereby providing reliable disease information. It is crucial to make full use of multiple data sources in theInternet of Medical Things applications to improve model accuracy. As network communication speeds andcomputational capabilities continue to evolve, parties are storing data locally, and using privacy protectiontechnology to exchange data in the communication process to construct models is receiving increasing attention. This shift toward secure and efficient data collaboration is expected to revolutionize computer modeling in thehealthcare field by ensuring accuracy and privacy in the analysis of critical medical information. In this paper,we train and test a multiparty decision tree model for the Internet of Medical Things on a heart disease datasetto address the challenges associated with developing a practical and usable model while ensuring the protectionof heart disease data. Experimental results demonstrate that the accuracy of our privacy protection method isas high as 93.24%, representing a difference of only 0.3% compared with a conventional plaintext algorithm.
