        價值規律與宋代錢荒-與葛金芳ㆍ常征江二位先生商榷

        葛金芳, 常征江 두분의 宋代錢荒의 생성원인에 대한 주장에 대하여 筆者는 商榷의 意見을 提示하고자 한다. 筆者는 宋代錢荒이 엄격한 “錢禁”과 “銅禁” 政策으로 인하여 발생한 現象이 아니고 이와 반대로 “錢禁”,“銅禁” 政策이 어느정도 貨幣存量에 일조를 하였다고 생각한다. 宋代 錢荒과 “錢禁”,“銅禁” 政策은 사실 그리 큰 關聯性이 없고 그 근본 원인은 政府의 經濟 獨占과 管理制度가 金融市場의 發展을 저해하였고 社會經濟的 要求를 滿足 시키지 못하기 때문이다. For the views of jinfang Ge and zhengJiang Chang, about the causes of “shortage of copper money” on the Song Dynasty, the authors put forward some different opinions. The author thinks the reason of the shortage is not the policy of “copper and money forbidden”. On the contrary, the policy pushed up the quantity of monetary on market. The shortage of money have nothing to do with the forbidden policy. The real reason is that the government monopoly and control of the economy and caused growth retardation of the financial system, which can not meet the social and economic needs.

        Compound heterozygous mutations of NDUFV1 identified in a child with mitochondrial complex I deficiency

        Background: Mitochondrial complex I deficiency (MCID) is the most common biochemical defect identified in childhood with mitochondrial diseases, mainly including Leigh syndrome, encephalopathy, macrocephaly with progressive leukodystrophy, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and myopathy. Objective: To identify genetic cause in a patient with early onset autosomal recessive MCID. Methods: Trio whole-exome sequencing was performed and phenotype-related data analyses were conducted. All candidate mutations were confirmed by Sanger sequencing. Results: Here we report a child of Leigh syndrome presented with global developmental delay, progressive muscular hypotonia and myocardial damage. A missense mutation c.118C > T (p.Arg40Trp) and a previously reported mutation c.1157G > A (p.Arg386His) in NDUFV1 have been identified as compound heterozygous in the patient. The mutation p.Arg386His is closely associated with the impairment of 4Fe-4S domain and this mutation has been reported pathogenic. The c.118C > T mutation has not been reported in ClinVar and HGMD database. In silico protein analyses showed that p.Arg40 is highly conserved in a wide range of species, and the amino acid substitution p.Trp40 largely decreases the stability of NDUFV1. In addition, the mutation has not been detected in the Asian populations and it was predicted to be deleterious by numerous prediction tools. Conclusion: This research expands the mutation spectrum of NDUFV1 and substantially provides an early and accurate diagnosis basis of MCID, which would benefit subsequently effective genetic counseling and prenatal diagnosis for future reproduction of the family.

        Ginsenoside Rg1 promotes neurite growth of retinal ganglion cells through cAMP/PKA/CREB pathways

        Background: Mechanisms of synaptic plasticity in retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) are complex and the current knowledge cannot explain. Growth and regeneration of dendrites together with synaptic formation are the most important parameters for evaluating the cellular protective effects of various molecules. The effect of ginsenoside Rg1 (Rg1) on the growth of retinal ganglion cell processes has been poorly understood. Therefore, we investigated the effect of ginsenoside Rg1 on the neurite growth of RGCs. Methods: Expression of proteins and mRNA were detected by Western blot and qPCR. cAMP levels were determined by ELISA. In vivo effects of Rg1 on RGCs were evaluated by hematoxylin and eosin, and immunohistochemistry staining. Results: This study found that Rg1 promoted the growth and synaptic plasticity of RGCs neurite by activating the cAMP/PKA/CREB pathways. Meanwhile, Rg1 upregulated the expression of GAP43, Rac1 and PAX6, which are closely related to the growth of neurons. Meantime, H89, an antagonist of PKA, could block this effect of Rg1. In addition, we preliminarily explored the effect of Rg1 on enhancing the glycolysis of RGCs, which could be one of the mechanisms for its neuroprotective effects. Conclusion: Rg1 promoted neurite growth of RGCs through cAMP/PKA/CREB pathways. This study may lay a foundation for its clinical use of optic nerve diseases in the future.

        Membrane technologies for Li+/Mg2+ separation from salt-lake brines and seawater: A comprehensive review

        Recent years have seen rapid improvement of technology and large-scale applications of lithium-ionbatteries, which leads to an increasing market demand for lithium. Since the land lithium resources arediminishing drastically, the sources of lithium extraction have shifted to the large amount of waterresources containing salt-lake brines and seawater. Among the varieties of aqueous recovery approaches,membrane technology seems to have huge development potential and good application prospect. This isbecause the membrane technologies exhibit excellent Li/Mg separation selectivity, with low energyconsumption and green process owing to no addition of chemicals. The present work reviews the latestadvances in various membrane technologies, including nanofiltration membrane, electrodialysis,membrane capacitive deionization approaches, solid electrolyte electrolysis-based technology, etc. Therecent developments in positively charged nanofiltration membrane are discussed in terms of thepreparation methods, membrane properties, and Li/Mg separation coefficient. In addition, the effects ofseveral factors on electrodialysis for lithium extraction and relevant mechanisms in both simple andactual saline systems are discussed, including applied voltage, VC/VD, and coexisting ions. Theapplications of electrodialysis with novel selective membrane involving nanofiltration membrane as wellas solid electrolyte membrane and perspectives for further investigation are proposed.

        Direction of arrival estimation of non-Gaussian signals for nested arrays: Applying fourth-order difference co-array and the successive method

        Herein, we estimate the direction of arrival (DOA) of non-Gaussian signals for nested arrays (NAs) by implementing the fourth-order difference co-array (FODC) and successive methods. In particular, considering the property of the fourth-order cumulant (FOC), we first construct the FODC of the NA, which can obtain O(N<sup>4</sup>) virtual elements using N physical sensors, whereas conventional FOC methods can only obtain O(N<sup>2</sup>) virtual elements. In addition, the closed-form expression of FODC is presented to verify the enhanced degrees of freedom (DOFs). Subsequently, we exploit the vectorized FOC (VFOC) matrix to match the FODC of the NA. Notably, the VFOC matrix is a single snapshot vector, and the initial DOA estimates can be obtained via the discrete Fourier transform method under the underdetermined correlation matrix condition, which utilizes the complete DOFs of the FODC. Finally, fine estimates are obtained through the spatial smoothing-Capon method with partial spectrum searching. Numerical simulation verifies the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed method.

      • An Effective Method to Reduce Recovery Cache Size by Using Hash Table Search

        The recovery mechanism using a special purpose cache (afterward, called recovery cache) can effectively reduce misprediction penalty in deeply pipelined processors. The recovery cache keeps a few mispredicted instructions after a branch misprediction, and reuses those during the subsequent branch. Thus, the recovery cache hit rates increase depending on its size. This paper proposes an effective method to reduce recovery cache size by using Hash Table Search (HTS). Simulation results show that HTS can provide an average 14.5% reduction in the recovery cache size ensuring that the performance is almost same.

        Study on surface physical and chemical mechanism of nanobubble enhanced flotation of fine graphite

        It has been concluded in a recently published investigation that the nanobubble flotation process significantlyreduces the number of fine flake graphite flotation stages and improves the flotation performance. The present study was conducted to explore the mechanisms of surface nanobubbles enhancing flake graphiteflotation by investigating effects of nanobubbles on surface properties of graphite and interactionsbetween particles and bubbles by use of contact angle analyzer, zeta potential analyzer, FourierTransform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), and X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS). The study resultsshow that nanobubbles can improve the surface properties of graphite and enhance the adsorption effectof collector, which increased the contact angle of the graphite surface by 11.93 compared with conventionalflotation. Infrared spectroscopy and potential analysis showed that the nanobubbles could enhancethe hydrophobic attraction and reduce the electrostatic repulsion between the collector and the graphitesurface, which was beneficial to enhance the hydrophobic surface of the graphite and enhance theagglomeration of fine graphite particles. XPS analysis showed that the nanobubbles covered polar hydrophilicgroups (such as CAO, C@O, COOH) on the graphite surface, which enhanced the adsorption of collectorto improve the hydrophobicity of graphite surface.

        Bavachin Suppresses Alpha-Hemolysin Expression and Protects Mice from Pneumonia Infection by Staphylococcus aureus

        Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) infection causes dramatic harm to human health as well as to livestock development. As an important virulence factor, alpha-hemolysin (hla) is critical in the process of S. aureus infection. In this report, we found that bavachin, a natural flavonoid, not only efficiently inhibited the hemolytic activity of hla, but was also capable of inhibiting it on transcriptional and translational levels. Moreover, further data revealed that bavachin had no neutralizing activity on hla, which did not affect the formation of hla heptamers and exhibited no effects on the hla thermal stability. In vitro assays showed that bavachin was able to reduce the S. aureus-induced damage of A549 cells. Thus, bavachin repressed the lethality of pneumonia infection, lung bacterial load and lung tissue inflammation in mice, providing potent protection to mice models in vivo. Our results indicated that bavachin has the potential for development as a candidate hla inhibitor against S. aureus.

      • Dynamic Performance Analysis of Capture and Separation Process for a Microsatellite Docking Device

        Aiming at the problem of short lifetime and high cost in the on-orbit Servicing technology, a new type of automatic autonomous probe-cone docking mechanism used for microsatellite docking is proposed which can realize on-orbit special services. The structure of the mini docking mechanism is provided according to the design indices, and a virtual prototype model of the mini-type universal docking system is established by using MATLAB software. The dynamics modeling of the docking process is presented based on the virtual work principle. The simplified dynamic analysis model during the capture process is established. The dynamic characteristic analysis of the catching process is completed to research the influence of the key parameters, and the virtual prototype model of the docking device is established through ADAMS for further verifying the proposed design. The analysis shows that this mechanism has the good capacity of capture and separation process and energy absorption to reduce the impact during the docking process. And the simulation results meet the design demands of mini-type universal autonomous docking mechanism.
