Prediction of Alcohol Concentraion of Makgeolli with Multilayer Perceptron Model

Makgeolli is a traditional alcoholic beverage made from rice with a fermentation starter called ‘Nuruk’. The concentration of alcohol of Makgeolli depends on temperature of a fermentation tank. It is important to monitor the concentration in order to manage the Makgeolli production process. Data for learning were collected from 40 fermentation tanks during a month. Independent variables were temperatures of tanks and room, quantity, acid and water concentration of source. Software for multilayer perceptron model was written in Python with scikit-learn library. The coefficient of determination R<sup>2</sup> of training and test were 0.89, and 0.80 respectively. This model could help to predict alcohol concentration and to control production process of Makgeolli.

<P>In this study, hydrodynamic characteristics and operational feasibility of a floating liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering terminal moored side-by-side with an LNG carrier and two LNG bunkering shuttles were investigated, during the LNG transferring process. Experiments consisted of two configurations, namely the soft spring moorings individually and the side-by-side mooring system. Motion response amplitude operators (RAOs) and wave drift force RAOs in regular waves were measured from the former configuration while the latter configuration was used to obtain global motion responses, structural loads acting on ship-to-ship mooring lines and relative displacements between LNG loading arms and their manifolds. The gap flow effect was considered by conducting comparisons of the numerical and experimental results with various radiation body boundary damping values. The results provided insights into the structural reliability of side-by-side mooring lines and the applicability of a conventional rigid LNG loading arm.</P>
Reparameterization을 활용한 하드웨어 친화적인 Hybrid Vision Transformer 모델 구현

A lightweight hybrid vision transformer (ViT), MobileViT, has been proposed to perform real-time vision tasks on resource-constrained mobile devices. However, due to its architecture that adds convolutional neural network (CNN) architecture to a standard transformer network, MobileViT has higher latency than light-weight CNN models that have relatively more parameters and floating-point operations (FLOPs). To address this, we remove the residual add of MobileNetV2 blocks with using reparameterization and replace layer normalization with batch normalization. The proposed network reduced the parameter count by 16.5% and FLOPs by 9.0% with only a 0.4% accuracy drop and reduced CPU and GPU latency by 12.7% and 12.3%, respectively compared to MobileViT-XXS.
오픈형 스월 인젝터의 스월 챔버 형상 변화에 따른 동특성 연구

스월 인젝터는 액체로켓 엔진에서의 연료 분사 장치로 널리 사용되고 있으며, 이에 따른 연구 또한 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 특히 연소 불안정 문제를 해결하는 것은 모든 종류의 액체로켓 엔진에서 필수적이다. 본 연구에서는 연소불안정을 해결하기 위한 기초 연구로 오픈형 스월 인젝터에 대한 수류실험을 수행하였다. 인젝터로 유입되는 작동유체에 압력 섭동을 발생시키고, 그에 따른 응답특성을 실험적으로 파악하였다. 또한, 인젝터 스월 챔버의 길이와 지름을 변화시킴으로써 인젝터 구조의 변화에 따른 응답 특성의 변화를 확인하였다. Swirl injectors are widely used for Liquid Rocket Engine(LRE) as fuel injection system -and following researches are also being carried out throughout the world. Especially, solving combustion instability problem is essential for every type of LREs. In this study, cold test was carried out for open type swirl injector as a fundamental research to solve combustion instability problem. Pressure fluctuation was applied to the inlet flow coming into the injector and the following response characteristics were observed. The effect of swirl chamber geometry was also studied by changing both swirl chamber length and diameter.

Contractile Force Measurements of Cardiac Myocytes Using a Micro-manipulation System

In order to develop a cell based robot, we present a micro-mechanical force measurement system for the biological muscle actuators, which utilize glucose as a power source. The proposed measurement system is composed of a micro-manipulator, a force transducer with a glass probe, a signal processor, an inverted microscope and video recording system. Using this measurement system, the contractile force and frequency of the cardiac myocytes were measured in real time and the magnitudes of the contractile force of each cardiac myocyte under different conditions were compared. From the quantitative experimental results, we could estimate that the force of cardiac myocytes is about 20~40 μN, and show that there are differences between the control cells and the micro-patterned cells.

This study is constructed to investigate the sloshing effect on the motions of a two-dimensional rectangular floater experimentally. There are two main categories. First, only roll motion is permitted and the other motions are firmly restricted. Second, sway and roll motions are are just allowed simultaneously with heave motion prevented. Sway motion is occurred along the flume's upper rail, while roll motion is performed at the center bearing of the model. Experiments are performed in the 2D flume at Seoul Nat'l University. The filling ratios are changed from empty to 50% and for the second experimental case, the ballast conditions are varied to quantify the rail friction effect. All tests are carried out under regular wave conditions. The motions measured by a non-contact camera, which can trace two different marks on the model accurately. The steady-state sway and roll motions are filtered out by post-processing. The spring system is installed to prevent th model drift off. For the first case, it is found that as the filling ratio is increased, the roll natural frequency becomes lower. And the sloshing effect is observed at the vicinity of roll natural frequency and sloshing natural one, but the amount is not that much significant as the sway motion. For the second case, sway motion is dominant and roll motion is almost diminished except for cases near the sloshing natural frequency. Between 4.0~7.0rad/s, which is the interval between roll natural frequency and sloshing natural one, it is found that coupling of two motions leads the roll motion's phase shift and finally internal fluid tank acts as ART(Anti-Rolling Tank) precisely.
