Objectives: This study aimed to survey the characteristics of air quality and meteorological conditions in a greenway park. Methods: We measured meteorological and health related factors, including noise, particulate matter ($PM_{10}$) and selected gaseous air pollutants at three locations in a greenway park and on a general roadside as comparison. The measurements were repeated four times from April to October 2014. Results: The average air temperature in the greenway park was $20.7^{\circ}C$ which was $1-2^{\circ}C$ lower than on the general roadside. The average $PM_{10}$ concentration in the greenway park was $85.0{\mu}g/m^3$, a level 2-3 times lower than that at the roadside. The noise level at the greenway site was 4.4 dB(A)- 23.0 dB(A) lower than at the roadside. The average CO, $CO_2$, $SO_2$ and NOx concentrations in the greenway park were lower than at the roadside. The average phytoncide and anions concentrations in the greenway park were higher than at the roadside. Conclusions: The urban forest of the greenway park may have some impact on air quality and meteorological conditions.
Electrical, Thermal, and Thermoelectric Transport Properties of Se-doped Polycrystalline Re2Te5

Re2Te5 is considered a potential thermoelectric material because of its intrinsically low thermalconductivity, due to its complex crystal structure. Herein, a series of Se-doped Re2Te5 (Re2Te5-xSex, x = 0, 0.2,1, and 2) samples were synthesized, and their electrical and thermal transport properties were investigated. Pure orthorhombic Re2Te5 phases were successfully synthesized without any impurities for all compositions,and the continuous decrease in the calculated lattice parameters confirmed the substitution of Se atoms atthe Te sites. A maximum power factor of 0.135 mW/mK2was achieved for the sample with x = 0.2 at 880 K,mainly due to the increase in carrier concentration and electrical conductivity. The lattice thermalconductivity significantly decreased for all doped samples, which was attributed to the point defect phononscattering caused by Se doping. The thermoelectric figure of merit, zT reached a maximum value of 0.20 at880 K for Re2Te4.8Se0.2 (x = 0.2) sample, which was approximately 22% higher than that of the pristine Re2Te5sample. The weighted mobility, quality factor, and expected zT were calculated to evaluate the optimizationof the power factor and zT.

One of the most important reasons in pursuit of supply chain management is to prevent sub-optimization caused by decentralized decision making over the various entities. As supply chain coordination approach to overcome such a setting, contract mechanisms have frequently been used. However, a coordinated supply chain might fail to provide additional profit to one of the players. In result, it is necessary that a contract mechanism is designed to achieve the same profit in a centralized situation (coordination) and to improve the benefit of all the supply chain players (winwin). In this paper, we address supply chain contract based on revenue sharing and quantity discount considering price and service level. We show that the trade parameters among different entities in the supply chain contract can be chosen to achieve coordination and a win-win outcome.
Thermoelectric Properties of Cu-added Polycrystalline Bi2O2Se Oxyselenide

Bi2O2Se oxyselenide has been actively studied as a potential n-type thermoelectric material becauseof its intrinsically low thermal conductivity and high Seebeck coefficient (S). However, Bi2O2Se has very lowelectrical conductivity (σ), resulting in relatively poor thermoelectric performance. Herein, we investigate theeffect of Cu addition on the electrical and thermal transport of n-type polycrystalline Bi2O2Se. A series ofCuxBi2O2Se (x = 0, 0.0025, 0.005, and 0.0075) polycrystalline samples were synthesized by a conventional solid state reaction. Tetragonal Bi2O2Se was successfully synthesized, and its lattice parameters graduallydecreased with the addition of Cu. Further, σ decreased and the magnitude of S increased with increasingCu content, according to the trade-off relationship between these parameters. Consequently, a maximumpower factor of 0.106 mW m-1 K-2 was achieved for the sample with x = 0.0025 at 300 K, owing to the increasein the magnitude of S. The Hall carrier concentration decreased exponentially with the addition of Cu, whichis mainly attributed to the possible enlargement of the band gap of the Cu-added samples. The lattice thermalconductivity decreased with increasing x, which was attributed to point-defect phonon scattering via Cuaddition. Therefore, a maximum zT of 0.222 was obtained at 790 K for the Cu0.0025Bi2O2Se (x = 0.0025) sample,which was approximately 8% higher than that of the pristine Bi2O2Se sample.

Purpose: Phytosanitary irradiation treatment can effectively control regulated pests while maintaining produce quality. The objective of this study was to establish the best irradiation treatment for mangosteen, a popular tropical fruit, using a Monte Carlo simulation. Methods: Magnetic resonance image (MRI) data were used to generate a 3-D geometry to simulate dose distributions in a mangosteen using a radiation transport code (MCNP5). Microsoft Excel with visual basic application (VBA) was used to divide the image data into seed, flesh, and rind. Radiation energies used for the simulation were 10 MeV (high-energy) and 1.35 MeV (low-energy) for the electron beam, 5 MeV for X-rays, and 1.25 MeV for gamma rays from Co-60. Results: At 5 MeV X-rays and 1.25 MeV gamma rays, all areas (seeds, flesh, and rind) were irradiated ranging from 0.3 ~ 0.7 kGy. The average doses decreased as the number of fruit increased. For a 10 MeV electron beam, the dose distribution was biased: the dose for the rind where the electrons entered was 0.45 ± 0.03 kGy and the other side was 0.24 ± 0.10 kGy. Use of an electron kinetic energy absorber improved the dose distribution in mangosteens. For the 1.35 MeV electron beam, the dose was shown only in the rind on the irradiated side; no significant dose was found in the flesh or seeds. One rotation of the fruit while in front of the beam improved the dose distribution around the entire rind. Conclusion: These results are invaluable for determining the ideal irradiation conditions for phytosanitary irradiation treatment of tropical fruit.
Small biopsy from area of Hutchinson’s sign : useful for the diagnosis of subungual melanoma in situ

Background: Although nail matrix biopsy is recommended to diagnose subungual melanoma (SUM), it is technically demanding and has potential for complication including permanent nail dystrophy. Small biopsy from area of Hutchinson’s sign (HS), an important clinical clue for the diagnosis of SUM, is thought to provide adequate samples and less invasive than nail matrix biopsy. Objectives: We investigated the diagnostic value of small biopsy of HS in SUM in situ patients. Methods: We retrospectively evaluated 9 patients who were diagnosed as SUM in situ and underwent punch biopsy at HS area. Clinical features as well as histopathological findings at HS area were analyzed. Results: All patients had finger lesions and the most common area was the thumb (40%). HS was mostly seen in the hyponychium (90%), and only one case was seen in the proximal nail fold (10%). Histopathologically, all cases showed irregularly scattered atypical melanocytes. The size of the nucleus varied from small to large, and Focal pagetoid spread was observed in 6 cases. A confluent pattern of atypical melanocytes was observed in 4 cases. Three dermatologists reviewed the slides, and 8 out of 10 cases had no difficulty in diagnosing melanoma. The remaining two cases showed subtle changes which were not sufficient for the diagnosis for SUM in situ. Conclusion: When approaching longitudinal melanonychia, we suggest that small biopsy at HS area is less invasive and useful procedure that can be selectively performed first.
Effect of Winding Coil Diameter on AC Insulation Breakdown Voltage of Polyamideimide/Nanosilica Wire

The AC insulation breakdown voltage was investigated for seven types of winding coils made of polyamideimide (PAI), flexural PAI (nanosilica 5 wt%) and anti-corona PAI (nanosilica 15 wt%) wires with various winding coil diameters of φ5, φ15 and φ25 mm. The winding coil was made of enameled wire with an enamel thickness of 30~50 μm, and the rectangular copper wire had a thickness of 0.77~ to 0.83 mm and width of 1.17~ to 1.23 mm, respectively. The insulation breakdown voltages of the original PAI coils with diameters of φ5, φ15 and φ25 mm were 7.30, 6.58, and 5.95 kV, respectively, and those values decreased as the winding coil diameter increased, regardless of the wire types.

Background/Aims: Periostin is an extracellular matrix protein and is known to be related to the metastatic potential and prognosis of cancer. However, few studies have investigated the expression level of periostin and its association with prognoses in hepatocellular carcinoma. Therefore, we analyzed periostin overexpression in hepatocellular carcinoma and its implication for prognoses. Methods: We evaluated 149 patients who underwent surgical resection between 2006 and 2010. Tissue microarrays were constructed from hepatocellular carcinoma tissue and adjacent nontumor tissue, and immunohistochemistry was performed. Results: A high periostin level was observed more frequently in cases of multiple tumors (odds ratio [OR], 2.826; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.224 to 6.527; p=0.013), positive microvascular invasion (OR, 2.974; 95% CI, 1.431 to 6.181; p=0.003), and advanced stage disease (OR, 3.032; 95% CI, 1.424 to 6.452; p=0.003). Patients with high periostin expression had significantly (p=0.002) lower overall survival rates than those with low periostin expression (90.3%, 66.1%, and 56.2% vs 97.7%, 85.1%, and 77.5% at 1, 3, and 5 years). Conclusions: We found that a combination of periostin overexpression and microvascular invasion in hepatocellular carcinoma was correlated with a poor prognosis and can be a good prognostic marker for hepatocellular carcinoma. Background: The purpose of this project is to elucidate the effect of dexamethasone on hypoxia-induced EMT in colon cancer cells. Methods: Human colon cancer HCT116 and HT29 cells were exposed to normoxic (21%) or hypoxic (1%) conditions. In order to measure the expression levels of EMT markers (Snail, Slug, E-cadherin, integrin aVß6) treated with dexamethasone, quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction and Western blot analysis were performed. Furthermore, effect of dexamethasone on the invasiveness and migration of colon cancer cells was elucidated using matrigel invasion and wound healing migration assays. Results: We found that dexamethasone inhibits HIF-1a protein level and its downstream gene, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) mRNA level, in hypoxic condition. In addition, dexamethasone down-regulates not only hypoxia-induced Snail and Slug mRNA levels, which play a part in transcriptional level of EMT, but also hypoxia- induced integrin aVß6 protein level, a well-known EMT marker for colon cancer cells. Furthermore, reduced E-cadherin in hypoxic condition is found to be recoverable by treating with dexamethasone in colon cancer cell lines; dexamethasone blocks the migration and invasion of cancer cells in hypoxia. Conclusions: Our study suggests that dexamethasone has inhibitory effects on cell migration and invasion by suppressing EMT of colon cancer cell lines in hypoxic condition and may serve a new chemotherapeutic agent for colon cancer patients.
