Effects of Grain Boundary on {100} Recrystallization Texture of High Silicon Electrical Steel

In this study, high silicon electrical steel (Fe-6.5 wt% Si alloy) as-cast ingot with columnar grains was prepared bydirectional solidification. Additionally, equiaxed-grained samples with different initial grain sizes were fabricatedby casting, rolling and annealing at different temperatures. The deformation band, dislocation morphology andrecrystallization texture of these samples during subsequent rolling and annealing were investigated. The effects ofinitial grain boundary directions of columnar-grained samples and initial grain sizes (grain boundary densities) ofequiaxed-grained samples on the {100} recrystallization texture of high silicon electrical steel were analyzed. Theresults showed that the grain boundaries played an important role in the formation of the {100} recrystallizationtexture. Due to a low dislocation density (low deformation stored energy) after rolling, the samples without grainboundaries parallel to transverse direction (e.g. rolling along the axis of the columnar grains) or with small grainboundary densities (e.g. large initial grain sizes) were favorable to the formation of a {100} recrystallization textureduring annealing.

In this study, the effects of natural freezing-mechanical treatment and interface modification on the mechanicalproperties and VOC emissions of hemp fibre-reinforced polypropylene composites were investigated. To evaluate theinfluence of natural freezing-mechanical treatment on fibres and composites, several tests were performed. Natural freezingmechanicaltreatment of HF enhanced the mechanical properties and reduced the VOC emissions of HF/PP compositescompared with untreated composites. After the degumming treatment, HF was treated with urea and KH-550, and themechanical properties of the modified composites were better than those of the unmodified composites. Compared with thetensile strength, flexural strength and impact strength of the unmodified composites, the mechanical properties of the ureamodifiedcomposites were enhanced by 16.45 %, 17.32 % and 13.23 %, respectively; the mechanical properties of thecomposites modified by the coupling agent KH-550 were increased by 19.53 %, 20.40 % and 11.19 %, respectively. The totalVOC emissions of modified HF/PP composites were lower than those of the unmodified composites. The obtained resultsdemonstrated that natural freezing-mechanical treatment is an effective fibre degumming method. Combined with interfacemodification, the composite has the characteristics of low VOC emissions, high strength, and good interface bonding.
STAT3, a Poor Survival Predicator, Is Associated with Lymph Node Metastasis from Breast Cancer

Purpose: The aim of this study is to explore signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) expression in breast cancer and to analyze the detailed mechanism that STAT3 contributes to the progression of breast cancer. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the clinicopathologic characteristics and overall survival (OS) of 140 breast cancer patients after curative surgery, and detected STAT3 expression, phosphorylated STAT3 (pSTAT3) expression, Ki-67 expression, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)-C and -D expression in breast cancer tissues, and adjacent nontumor tissues. Survival analysis and relationship analysis were adopted for demonstrated the important mechanism of STAT3 contribution to progression of breast cancer. Results: STAT3 expression, pSTAT3 expression, Ki-67 expression, VEGF-C expression, and VEGF-D expression in breast cancer tissues were significantly higher than those in adjacent nontumor tissues, respectively. With survival analysis, only number of lymph node metastasis (N stage) was identified as the independent predictors of the OS of breast cancer patients. Besides, we demonstrated there was the most prominent correlation between STAT3 expression and lymph node metastasis in breast cancer tissues by using the multinominal regression method. Conclusion: STAT3, a poor survival biomarker potential association with lymph node metastasis, was suitable for predication the OS of breast cancer patients after curative resection.
Investigation of Rebar Exposure Issues of Diaphragm Wall and Influencing Factors Analysis

The exposure of rebar in diaphragm wall was discovered after excavation in more than 20 subway stations, along the lines 1 to 4 in Suzhou, China. Such phenomena were investigated from strata formation, hydrogeological condition, construction techniques, adjacent surcharge load and other aspects. Based on field investigation, in situ testing and numerical simulation, the disturbance of trenching operations and the main factors that affect the stability of the diaphragm wall during the trenching process are analyzed comprehensively. The results show that the deformation behavior and stability of slurry trench walls are mainly influenced by strata characteristics, adjacent surcharge loading, formation of bentonite filter cake on trench walls, pressure of a confined aquifer, height of slurry filling and slurry density. The underground water pressure in the confined aquifer of silty soil layers is considered as one of the main controlling factors, which is verified by the subsequently dewatering and trenching tests. During the construction process, the deformation and stability of the trench walls can be improved by adjusting and controlling the crucial controlling factors. Further, relevant remedial measures as well as the preventive methods during the process of constructing diaphragm walls and subsequent soil excavation are addressed.

Quaternary stannite semiconductor Cu2FeSnS4 (CFTS), which is an ideal material for solar photovoltaic cells, has attracted widespread attention. CFTS crystals have been successfully synthesized by the co-electrochemical deposition method. The structure, morphology, and composition of as-synthesized samples were characterized by using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS), respectively. From the results, it was found that the properties of the sample can be improved by tuning the Cu2+ concentration in the electrolyte, and the best sample was obtained with the Cu2+ concentration of 0.01 M. For the best sample, the CFTS thin films have single phase and good crystallinity with even particle size. By the addition of ascorbic acid, an effective way has been found to enhance the Fe content in the sample, and the reason for the Fe-poor phenomenon has also been explored.
