Purpose: The purpose of this study was to understand the degree of depression, sleep quality, job stress and their association among office workers. Method: A self-administered questionnaire was distributed to 147 workers employed in 5 big enterprises, and 5 small and medium enterprises from October 21 to November 21, 2012. The questionnaires included socio-demographic and health-related characteristics, job-related characteristics, sleep quality, job stress (KOSS) and depression (CES-D). Result: Among all subjects, 23.1% was in the depression group (21 points and over in the CES-D score). Depressive level was positively correlated with job stress and quality of sleep. The adjusted odd ratio for the effects of sleep quality and job stress on depression significantly increased in the depression group compared to that of the normal group. Multiple regression analysis revealed that the following factors of influence had combined explanatory powers on depression: BMI, life satisfaction, quality of sleep, and job stress. Conclusion: The study revealed that complicated influences were exerted on the level of depression by variable factors, as well as socio-demographic characteristics, health-related characteristics, quality of sleep, and job stress. Specifically, the level of depression was influenced by the quality of sleep and job stress.
IL-10 and TNF-α level changes in Oviduct and Endometrium at the Preimplantation Period in Sows

수정란이 착상하는 동안 모체의 생식 기관에서 면역 세포 군집의 변화가 발생하며 이는 임신 과정의 핵심이다. 착상 전·후 기간동안 T 림프구를 포함한 면역 세포는 이식 초기에 생식 기관으로 불러들여지며, T 림프구 중 보조T세포인 Th1과 Th2 사이의 균형은 착상의 성공에 중요한 영향을 미친다. 본 연구에서는 돼지 수정란 착상 전 모체의 난관(OVI), 자궁내막 (ENDO), 자궁 점막층 (UML)에서 Th1, Th2의 균형을 확인하고자 종양괴사인자-알파 (TNF-α)와 인터루킨-10 (IL-10)의 농도를 효소결합 면역흡착 분석법 (ELISA)을 이용해 분석하였다. IL-10의 경우 7일차에 OVI, ENDO, UML에 유의한 차이가 있었으나 (p < 0.01), TNF-α의 경우 모두 유의한 차이가 없었다. IL-10:TNF-α 비율은 OVI에서만 7일째에 유의한 차이가 나타났다 (p < 0.05). 본 연구의 결과는 착상 전 생식 기관별 염증-항염증 기전의 변화를 통해 모체의 생식계가 배아를 수용하는 과정의 일부를 뒷받침할 수 있다. After implantation, dramatic shifts in immune cell populations occur in the maternal reproductive tract, and these changes are key to the implantation and pregnancy process in sows. Immune cells, including T lymphocytes, are recruited during the early implantation period, and an accurate balance between Th1 and Th2 is essential for successful implantation. In this study, the concentration of TNF-α (tumor necrosis factor-alpha) and IL-10 (interleukin-10) in early pregnancy were investigated using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) to determine Th1/Th2 ratios in oviduct (OVI), endometrium (ENDO), and the uterine mucosal layer (UML) before implantation. Significant differences in IL-10 levels were observed in OVI, ENDO, and UML tissues on day 7 post-implantation (p < 0.01), whereas TNF-α levels were no different. As regards IL-10 and TNF-α ratios, a significant difference was found on day 2 in OVI tissues (p < 0.05). The result of this study supports the notion that the maternal reproductive system accepts the embryo through changes in preimplantation reproductive system-specific pro-/anti-inflammatory mechanisms.

To enhance the thermal properties of epoxy composites, expanded graphite (EG) was oxyfluorinated and embedded into epoxy resin as a reinforcement. The maximum thermal conductivity was obtained for epoxy composites with oxyfluorinated EG, representing a 62% increase compared to that of neat epoxy. Additionally, the glass transition temperature (Tg) and integral procedural decomposition temperature of epoxy composites with oxyfluorinated EG show the increase of 6% (4.4 °C) and 106% (264 °C), respectively, which indicated the improvement in thermal stability. These results can be attributed to the interfacial interaction between epoxy and oxyfluorinated EG, which formed strong interfacial interactions between the epoxy resin and EG due to the presence of oxygen- and fluorine-containing functional groups in oxyfluorinated EG.

This study investigated the postconstruction reduction in retroreflective performance over time for different painted road markings, including lines, symbols, and characters. Visual changes were observed via an experiment. We collected data on changes in reflexive performance to objectively analyze the effect of reduced reflexive performance of road markings. Based on this data, we then examined reductions in recursive reflection performance due to factors such as paint type, construction method, road marking type, and traffic and road environment. Taken together, the results of this study suggest that it will be helpful to maintain road markings during the planning stage of the repainting period and to better understand recursive reflection performance deterioration trends for each type of paint and glass grain used.
안축장 길이와 시신경 유두의 사상판 두께, 전사상판 두께, 사상판 앞길이와의 상관관계

목적: 본 연구는 녹내장의 위험인자 중 하나인 근시안에서 안축장 길이가 사상판 두께, 전사상판 두께, 사상판 앞길이와 의미 있는 관련성이 있는지를 분석하고자 하였다. 대상과 방법: 만 18-58세의 근시 외 다른 안과적 질환이 없는 30명 60안을 대상으로 스펙트럼영역 빛간섭단층촬영기(Spectral Domain Optical Coherene Tomography, SD-OCT)를 이용하여 Enhanced Depth Imaging (EDI) 방법으로 시신경유두의 상부(위 1/3 지점), 중심, 하부(아래 1/3 지점)에서 각각 사상판 두께, 전사상판 두께, 사상판 앞길이를 측정하였다. 안축장의 길이와 사상판 두께, 전사상판 두께, 사상판 앞길이와의 관련성을 각각 선형혼합효과모델(linear mixed model)을 이용하여 분석하였다. 결과: 안축장은 사상판 전체 평균두께 및 상부, 중심부 두께와 유의한 상관관계가 없었으나, 하부의 사상판 두께와는 유의하게 음의선형관계를 나타냈다(p=0.019, β=-7.34). 안축장과 전사상판 두께는 전체 평균두께 및 상부, 중심부, 하부에서 모두 유의한 상관관계가 없었다. 안축장과 사상판 앞길이의 평균두께(p=0.022, β=-17.17) 및 중심부(p=0.026, β=-16.18), 하부(p=0.006, β=-20.63)의 두께는 유의하게 음의 선형관계를 나타냈으며, 상부에서는 유의한 상관관계가 없었다. 결론: 근시안에서 안축장의 길이가 길어질수록 시신경 유두의 아래쪽 사상판 두께가 유의하게 얇아지는 경향을 보이고 사상판 앞길이의 평균두께가 얇아지는 경향을 보인다. <대한안과학회지 2015;56(5):745-752> Purpose: In this study we determined the correlation of axial length to lamina cribrosa thickness (LCT), prelaminar tissue thick-ness (PT), and anterior laminar displacement (ALD) in young healthy eyes. Methods: The optic discs of 60 eyes from 30 young healthy subjects with myopia were scanned using enhanced-depth imaging spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (Spectralis OCT, Heidelberg Engineering, Heidelberg, Germany). The LCT, PT, and ALD were measured at the superior midperipheral, middle, and inferior midperipheral of the optic nerve head, respectively. A linear mixed-effects model was used to determine the relationship between the axial length and the LCT, axial length and PT as well as axial length and ALD. Results: The mean, superior midperipheral, and middle LCT were not significantly correlated with axial length. Conversely, the inferior midperipheral LCT was negatively correlated with axial length (p = 0.019, β = -7.34). There was no significant association between axial length and PT. Mean ALD was negatively correlated with axial length (p = 0.022, β = -17.17). Conclusions: In the present study, the inferior midperipheral LCT and mean ALD were negatively correlated with axial length, but PT showed no significant association with axial length.
