      • Study on Effect of Massage Technique based on Chaos Theory

        According to the mechanism of EMG signal, we know that the sacrificial electrical signal is with weak signal, low frequency, alternating, nonlinear and non-stationary characteristics. Nonlinear analysis includes higher order spectral analysis and fractal and chaos analysis.Chaos theory is one of the main parts of nonlinear science, and the electrical signal of the surface has a strong randomness, so we could consider the nonlinear analysis of EMG signals from the perspective of chaos. We mainly studied on the nonlinear analysis algorithm of EMG signal detailedly in this paper. Experiments show that,according to the quantitative analysis of several important parameters of rolling massage with chaos theory, we can measure objectively the action situation of related muscle groups in the operation course, then guide the professional massage students to understand the norms of operation in training of operation and help to lead their manipulation to the best power structure.

      • Evaluation of Performance Capability for Emergency Management in 31 Provinces of China in 2014-2015

        Performance capability of emergency management refers to the actual performance of the emergency management of an organization, individual or region. The improvement of the government's emergency management capacity is of great significance to the effective response of a country or local emergency. Performance capability evaluation of emergency management for an organization, individual or region can reflect their capability of emergency management, so as to help them make a more clear and comprehensive judgment to the ability of emergency response, enhance the ability of emergency response, promote China’s emergency response capability and reduce the loss of life and property caused by emergency. The report of Evaluation of performance capability for emergency management in 31 provinces of China in 2014-2015 is jointly issued by Public Management Professional Committee in Society of Management Science of China, Ouhua’ antai Risk and Crisis Emergency Research Institute, Emergency Management Institute of Henan Polytechnic University in 21th January, 2016. In the report, firstly, the 10 worst disaster incidents of each province in 2014-2015 are selected, and then every index of the accidents is graded through being analyzed with consulting American evaluation index system for emergency management and the reaction of the different kinds of accidents. At last, the weighted averages of the indexes are worked out. Meanwhile, the performance capability for emergency management in 31 provinces of China in 2014-2015, including precautions, responses and aftermath, is evaluated qualitatively and quantitatively from aspects of natural disasters, human disasters and comprehensive performance. Based on it, the relevant performance capability is ranked and classified according to four grades: excellent, good, medium and poor. The evaluation report shows that comprehensive performance of Beijing and other 5 provinces is excellent; comprehensive performance of Jiangxi and other 13 provinces is good; comprehensive performance of Chongqing and other 10 provinces is medium; comprehensive performance of Tianjin and some other provinces is poor. To sum up, the excellent evaluation depends on whether the reasonable measures have been taken and whether the better result have been seen; the good and medium evaluation implies that there is some situation discovered in those provinces, just like the worse results in several accidents and lack of risk consciousness; the others are evaluated for the poor performance capability because of their faults full from the precautions to the aftermath. The report also attracts some friends from domestic mainstream media, such as the Paper, Sohu, China News, Science Net and China Youth Online, who consider that the performance capability for emergency management of China’s provinces is cognized deeply and the feasible blueprint is drawn on improving capability for emergency management in China through the report.

        Association Between the Red Blood Cell Distribution Width and 30-Day Mortality in Intensive Care Patients Undergoing Cardiac Surgery: A Retrospective Observational Study Based on the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care-IV Database

        Background: Millions of patients undergo cardiac surgery each year. The red blood cell distribution width (RDW) could help predict the prognosis of patients who undergo percutaneous coronary intervention or coronary artery bypass surgery. We investigated whether the RDW has robust predictive value for the 30-day mortality among patients in an intensive care unit (ICU) after undergoing cardiac surgery. Methods: Using the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care-IV Database, we retrieved data for 11,634 patients who underwent cardiac surgery in an ICU. We performed multivariate Cox regression analysis to model the association between the RDW and 30-day mortality and plotted Kaplan–Meier curves. Subgroup analyses were stratified using relevant covariates. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were used to determine the predictive value of the RDWs. Results: The total 30-day mortality rate was 4.2% (485/11,502). The elevated-RDW group had a higher 30-day mortality rate than the normal-RDW group (P <0.001). The robustness of our data analysis was confirmed by performing subgroup analyses. Each unit increase in the RDW was associated with a 17% increase in 30-day mortality when the RDW was used as a continuous variable (adjusted hazard ratio=1.17, 95% confidence interval, 1.10–1.25). Our ROC results showed the predictive value of the RDW. Conclusions: An elevated RDW was associated with a higher 30-day mortality in patients after undergoing cardiac surgery in an ICU setting. The RDW can serve as an efficient and accessible method for predicting the mortality of patients in ICUs following cardiac surgery.

        Opportunistic Scheduling of Randomly Coded Multicast Transmissions at Half-Duplex Relay Stations

        <P>We consider the multicast scheduling problem for the block transmission of packets in a heterogeneous network using a half-duplex relay station (RS). The RS uses random linear coding to efficiently transmit packets over time-varying multicast channels. Our goal is to minimize the average decoding delay. Because of the half-duplex operation, at each time slot, the RS must decide to either: 1) fetch a new packet for encoding from the base station or 2) multicast a coded packet to wireless users. Thus, optimal scheduling hinges on exploiting multicast opportunities while persistently supplying the encoder (at the RS) with new packets. We formulate an associated fluid control problem and show that the optimal policy incorporates opportunism across multicast channels, i.e., the RS performs a multicast transmission only if the collection of channel conditions is favorable; otherwise, it performs a fetch. Based on the fluid policy, we propose an online algorithm. We prove that our algorithm asymptotically incurs no more than 4/3 and 2 times the optimal delay, for two-user and arbitrary number of user system, respectively. Simulation results show that, in fact, our algorithm's performance is very close to theoretical bounds.</P>

        The Mixed Kernel Function SVM-based Point Cloud Classification

        Measurement and detection of ground information by airborne Lidar are one of the hot topics in the field of intelligent sensing in recent years. This study proposes a new point cloud classification algorithm of Mixed Kernel Function SVM to distinguish different types of ground objects. Firstly, the combined features including the coordinate values, the RGB value, normalized elevation, standard deviation of elevation, and elevation difference of point cloud data were extracted. A mixed kernel function of Gauss and Polynomial was designed. Then, one-versus-rest SVM multiple classifiers was constructed. Finally, the feature of 3D point cloud data was employed to train the SVM classifiers. The overall classification accuracies of test data were 97.69% and 99.13% for two data sets, I and II respectively. In addition, the experimental results have showed that the performance of the proposed method with mixed kernel function SVM was better than standard SVM method with Gaussian kernel function and polynomial kernel function only, which demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed method.

        Early Intervention with High-Dose Steroid Pulse Therapy Prolongs Disease-Free Interval of Severe Alopecia Areata: A Retrospective Study

        Background: Spontaneous recovery of severe alopecia areata is rare and the condition is difficult to treat. Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate and compare the effects and safety of steroid pulse therapy between oral and intravenous administrations between 1999 and 2010 at the Department of Dermatology, National Cheng Kung University Hospital. Methods: Data were retrospectively retrieved. A satisfactory response was defined as more than 75% hair regrowth in the balding area. Results: A total of 85 patients with more than 50% hair loss were identified and treated, with an overall satisfactory response rate of 51.8%. The mean follow-up time was 37.6 months, with a relapse rate of 22.7%. Patients with alopecia areata (hereafter, AA) of recent onset within one year showed higher response rates (p< 0.001) and lower relapse rates compared to patients with AA persisting for more than 1 year. Further, even in patients with alopecia totalis, alopecia universalis or ophiasis type, early treatment resulted in a satisfactory response rate of 47% among the treated patients. In general, oral therapy was as effective and well-tolerated as intravenous therapy. Conclusion: The response rate is determined by disease severity and time of intervention, not by the administration form of steroid pulse therapy. Oral steroid pulse therapy can be considered as the first-line treatment for patients with severe AA of recent onset within one year. (Ann Dermatol 25(4) 471∼474, 2013)

        <P>Popular music Gangnam Style can arouse pleasure experience and strong emotional response. The left putamen is positively correlated with the mood arousal level score under the Gangnam Style condition. Our results revealed characteristic patterns of brain activity associated with Gangnam Style, and may also provide more general insights into the music-induced emotional processing.</P>

      • Construction as a Theoretical Entity: An Argument Based on MandarinExistential Sentences

        The role that constructions play in a linguistic theory has changed throughout the evolution of generative theories. Construction specific rules are common when transformations are envisioned as tree to tree operations in classical TG. On the other extreme, constructions, as well as all structural properties, are regarded as derived linguistic properties predictable from various principles in recent GB theories. Since whether a construction is an autonomous linguistic entity or not has great implications for either a formal or a computational linguistic theory, we will examine the status of Mandarin existential construction based on the theory of Construction Grammar [1,2]. We will show that the Mandarin existential construction represents all unique structure-meaning pair that cannot be captured in a grammar unless the pairing is regarded as a theoretical entity in linguistics ([3]). Since constructions are shown to exist in Mandarin Chinese, we support the theoretical claims of Construction Grammar as well as the position that constructions must be taken into account in NLP.

        Central limit theorem for weighted local time of $L^2$ modulus of fractional Brownian motion

        In this paper, we mainly prove a central limit theorem for weighted local time of $L^2$-modulus of fractional Brownian motion with Hurst parameter $H{\in}(\frac{1}{2},\;1)$. Similar to Hu and Nualart (2009), based on techniques of stochastic analysis, the main ingredients of the proof are analogous to the asymptotic version of Knight's theorem and the fractional Clark-Ocone formula for the $L^2$-modulus of the weighted local time increments.
