<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>This study demonstrated the targeted delivery and controlled release of cisplatin drug molecules from doubly decorated mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs), which were internally grafted with fluorescent conjugates and externally coated with polydopamine (PDA) and graphene oxide (GO) layers. The brush-like internal conjugates conferred fluorescent functionality and high capacity of cisplatin loading into MSNs, as well as contributing to a sustained release of the cisplatin through a porous channel with the assistance of external PDA layer. A consolidated double-layer formed by electrostatic interactions between the GO nanosheet and the PDA layer induced more controlled release kinetics which was well predicted by Higuchi model. In addition, Our MSNs exhibited stimuli (pH, NIR irradiation)-responsive controlled release as a potential chemo-photothermal agent against cancer cells. In a cell test, multifunctional MSNs showed a low toxicity itself, but gave a high cytotoxicity against human epithelial neuroblastoma cells (SH-SY5Y) after loading cisplatin. Notably, GO-wrapped MSNs exhibited very effective drug delivery because GO wrapping enhanced their dispensability in aqueous solution, photothermal heating effect, and efficient endocytosis into cells. Furthermore, monoclonal antibody (anti-human epidermal growth factor receptor)-conjugated MSNs showed a higher specificity, which resulted in more enhanced anticancer effects <I>in vitro</I>. The current study demonstrated a reliable synthesis of multifunctional MSNs, endowed with fluorescent imaging, stimuli-responsive controlled release, higher specificity, and efficient cytotoxicity toward cancer cells.</P> <P><B>Statement of Significance</B></P> <P>The current study demonstrated the reliable synthesis of multifunctional mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs) with internal fluorescent conjugates and external polydopamine and graphene oxide (GO) layers. The combination of internal conjugates and external coating layers produced an effective pore closure effect, leading to controlled and sustained release of small drug molecules. Notably, GO wrapping improved the dispensability and cellular uptake of the MSNs, as well as enhanced drug-controlled release. Our multifunctional MSNs revealed very efficient drug delivery effects against human epithelial neuroblastoma cells by demonstrating several strengths: i) fluorescent imaging, ii) sustained and controlled release of small drug molecules, iii) efficient cellular uptake, cytotoxicity and specificity, and v) stimuli (pH, NIR irradiation)-responsive controlled release as a potential chemo-photothermal agent.</P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>This work demonstrated kinetically controlled release of model drugs (ibuprofen, FITC) from well-tailored mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs) depending on the surface charges and molecular sizes of the drugs. The molecular interactions between entrapped drugs and the pore walls of MSNs controlled the release of the drugs through the pore channels of MSNs. Also, polydopamine (PDA) layer-coated MSNs (MSNs@PDA) was quite effective to retard the release of large FITC, in contrast to a slight retardation effect on relatively small Ibuprofen. Of all things, FITC (Fluorescein isothiocyanate)-labeled APTMS (3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane) (APTMS-FITC conjugates) grafted onto the MSNs generate a pinch-effect on the pore channel (so-called a prominent anchoring effect), which was highly effective in trapping (or blocking) drug molecules at the pore mouth of the MSNs. The anchored APTMS-FITC conjugates provided not only tortuous pathways to the diffusing molecules, but also sustained release of the ibuprofen over a long period of time (∼7days). The fast release kinetics was predicted by an exponential equation based on Fick’s law, while the slow release kinetics was predicted by Higuchi model.</P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>
Pd NHC complexes as catalyst for reductive carbonylation of nitrobenzene for generating urethanes

Carbamates have been widely used due to their versatility such as intermediates in pharmaceuticals, pesticides, fertilizers or precursors of isocyanates. The conventional process for the production of carbamates involves the toxic usage of phosgene. The reductive of carbonylation of aromatic nitro compounds with carbon monoxide in the presence of alcohols has drawn much attention as a phosgene-free alternative to carbamates. There have been numerous attempts to afford carbamates from the reductive carbonylation of nitrobenzene facilitated by various complexes of transitional metals. In this research, N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC)-palladium(II) complexes have been investigated as active catalysts for the synthesis of carbamates. The results showed that the 97% yield of carbamates was obtained under the conditions at 1600C in 2 h in the presence of (NHC)-palladium(II) as main catalyst.

Southeast Asian detective stories and their scholarships have shown new understandings of justice and identity in this region. This study on Vietnamese detective stories in the early twenty-first century contributes to post-colonial discourses to reflect how colonial structures were constructed and reconstructed from the past until now. Starting with transnational characters and contexts, we demonstrate the subversion revealed in the way the perpetrator-victim are transposed and their motivations for the crimes. The Vietnamese detective novelists adjust the conventions of detective stories to address these issues of law, ethics, and truth that arise in the post-colonial context. These multidimensional narratives of crime and justice also serve as resistance to the grand narratives of power that have dominated Vietnam for years.

Urea and its substituted derivatives are playing important role in chemical industry for many decades [1]. However, for a long time, these useful substances have been prepared by the coupling reaction between amines and phosgene. In order to avoid using harmful agent, greener and economic routes have been investigated by numerous researchers. During the last decades, enormous works have been done on finding a homogenous catalyst for this transformation, however, heterogeneous catalysts still have not intensively developed - only a few active solid bases have been published such as CeO<sub>2</sub>, Cs<sub>2</sub>CO<sub>3</sub> in NMP and PEG/KOH system [2]. Here we present a novel heterogeneous catalyst system comprising polystyrene- anchored matrices and basic ionic liquids as simple but highly regenerative catalyst for the synthesis of diureas from direct coupling reactions of various amines and CO<sub>2</sub>.

At present, environmental problems are gradually becoming quite serious because of the expansion of the business scale of companies, factories, and enterprises, and that is also the reason for the global pollution of the world. Green entrepreneurship is playing an increasingly crucial role in influencing people’s intentions, behaviors, and attitudes toward environmental protection through sustainable development. The purpose of this research was to examine the factors affecting university students’ green entrepreneurship levels in Vietnam. To do this, we performed a scientific research survey with 773 students from reputable universities in Vietnam, 337 of whom are male and 436 of whom are female. To assess the reliability and correlation between observed and total variables, this study employs scale testing methods such as Cronbach alpha, EFA, CFA, and SEM. After evaluating the influencing elements, the findings reveal that the Subjective norm factor and the Risk-aversion component are two distinct aspects that influence university students’ green entrepreneurship intentions in Vietnam and of which, the greatest influence is Risk Aversion. Furthermore, the findings revealed that the level of interest in green entrepreneurship is mostly seen by students with university education between the ages of 18–25.
Palladium-catalyzed reductive carbonylation of nitrobenzene for producing isocyanate

Organic isocyanates (R-NCO) have achieved great commercial importance as chemical intermediates in the manufacture of many useful chemicals. The conventional route has now been proven to have many serious problems, such as the use of extremely toxic phosgene in the carbonylation step and the byproduction of a large amount of corrosive hydrochloric acid. One attractive alternative method is direct carbonylation with carbon monoxide, because it can provide a one-step conversion of nitro aromatics to the isocyanate without the use of dangerous phosgene. In this research we present the direct reductive carbonylation of nitrobenzene to phenyl isocyanate using various types of palladium catalysts.
