그림책을 활용한 정서표현활동이 유아의 정서지능 및 친사회적 행동에 미치는 효과 = The Effect of Emotional Expression Activities using Picture Books on Young Children`s Emotional Intelligence and Prosocial Behavior

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of the present study was to find out the effect of emotional expression activities using picture books on young children`s emotional intelligence and prosocial behavior. For this research, two kindergartens, ``M`` kindergarten and ``B`` kindergarten, in ``G`` city were selected. Twenty children aged five years of ``M`` kindergarten were then randomly assigned to the experimental group, and twenty children of ``B`` kindergarten to the comparative group. To measure young children`s emotional intelligence, the emotional intelligence checklist was used, that was created by Salovey & Mayer(1990), and modified and adapted by Lee, Byung-Nae(1997). To measure prosocial behavior, the Prosocial Behavior Scale for Young Children(PBSY) developed by Kim, Young-Ok(2003) was used. The study result showed that emotional expression activities using picture books enhanced young children`s emotional intelligence and prosocial behavior. This results implied that young children`s emotional intelligence and prosocial behavior were improved by suggesting alternative opinions and experiencing expression activities process through sharing their feelings and thoughts about main character`s behavior and gathering various views. Therefor the present study results suggest that emotional expression activities using picture books are worth using as a meaningful teaching method in the early childhood education field.
