청소년이 지각한 가족건강성, 부모-조부모 친밀감 및 노부모 부양의식에 관한 연구 = A Study of Youth’s Perceived Family Strength, Parents-grandparents’Intimacy, and Consciousness for Supporting their Parents

The purpose of this research is to investigate the relationships of youth's perceived family strength, parents-grandparents’ intimacy, and consciousness for supporting their elderly parents. For this, the subjects were 386 middle and high school students living in Jeju Special-governing Province. The major findings were as follows:
First, youths' filial piety, consciousness for supporting their parents, and perceived parents-grandparents' intimacy were high, but family strength and attitude toward the elderly were average. Second, there were no significant differences by socio-demographic characteristics. But youth, in particular girls, who had not lived with their grandparents had a significantly low attitude toward the elderly. Third, perceived parents-grandparent intimacy was a variable most affecting the consciousness for supporting their parents, followed by attitude toward the elderly, filial piety, and family strength.
Therefore, this research showed that filial piety and affirmative experiences about the elderly are necessary for youth to improve their consciousness for supporting their parents.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 청소년이 지각하는 가족건강성, 부모-조부모 친밀감이 노인에 대한 태도와 노부모 부양의식에 영향을 미치는 인과관계를 살펴보는 것이다. 조사대상자는 제주특별자치도에 거주하는 중고등학생 386명이었으며, 연구방법으로 기술통계, t검정, ANOVA, Amos를 사용한 경로분석을 실시하였다. 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 청소년의 효의식과 노부모 부양의식, 부모-조부모 친밀감은 높은 수준이었고, 가족건강, 노인에 대한 태도는 보통수준이었다. 둘째, 인구학적 특성에 따른 차이는 없었다. 다만 여학생과 ‘조부모와 동거경험이 없는’ 청소년들의 노인에 대한 태도는 통계적으로 유의미하게 부정적이었다. 셋째, 노부모 부양의식에 대한 영향력은 부모-조부모 친밀감, 노인에 대한 태도, 효의식, 가족건강성 순으로 나타났다. 따라서 본 연구는 청소년의 노부모 부양의식의 향상은 효의식과 노인에 대한 긍정적인 경험이 중요하다는 것을 알려준다.
