농촌청소년들의 노인부양의식에 관한 연구 : 정읍시 고등학생 중심으로 = (A) study of the Jeong-eup city youth's consciousness about the taking care of the aged

국문 초록 (Abstract)

현대 산업사회에서 노인은 경제적 능력을 상실해가고 있을 뿐만 아니라, 첨단정보기기와 지식정보사회로의 신속한 적응이 어렵다. 또한 가정 내에서도 노소간의 가치관의 차이와 세대간의 대립, 고부간의 심리적 갈등의 문제는 노인으로 하여금 정신적, 정서적으로 고독감과 소외감을 증대시키고 있다. 더하여서 노인부양 문제는 고령화가 유래없이 급속히 진행되고 있는 우리나라 상황에서 심각한 사회문제로 대두된다. 전통적인 가족부양이 가치체계에서 살아온 노인들은 노후생활에 대한 준비를 제대로 못한 상태에서 핵가족화와 가족가치관의 변화 등으로 더욱 어려움을 겪고 있다.이러한 시점에서 장차 노인을 부양해야할 입장에 있는 청소년들의 노인에 대한 인식과 관심의 정도에 대해 연구하는 것은 매우 의미 있는 일이라 할 수 있다.본 연구는 현재 정읍시 고등학교에 재학중인 청소년들의 노인에 대한 의식구조를 조사하였으며, 분석 결과를 바탕으로 고령사회에 부합한 학교와 의 교육방향 설정과 노인문제 해결을 위한 복지대책 수립의 기초자료를 제공하는데 목적이 있다.본 논문에서는 문헌연구를 통하여 21세기 산업사회에서 노인 부양의 문제가 대두된 요인과 문제점을 살펴보고, 현재의 노인부양의 형태와 선행연구들의 결과를 검토한다. 또한 노인부양에 대한 이론적 고찰을 통해 청소년의 가족관계 요인이 자신의 노후 및 노인에 대한 태도 변수 노인부양의식도에 어떠한 차이를 보이는가를 규명하였다.표본추출은 정읍시 중심이며, 전형적인 농촌형 도시인 정읍시에 위치한 각 남녀 고등학교 3개반, 600명을 임의 선정하여 2006년 4월 18일부터 4월 19일까지 2일에 걸쳐 해당학교에 방문하여 자기 기입식 설문지 기입방식으로 조사하였다. 자료분석은 각 변수에 대하여 ANOVAb 검증을 하였으며, 설정된 명제의 검증을 위하여 평균치(M), 표준편차(SD)를 산출하여 비교하고, 이들 통계치에 대한 유의도를 검증(T-검증) 하였다. 자료처리는 SPSS Program의 11.0 version을 이용하여 분석하였다.이상의 연구를 통해 나타난 연구결과의 중요한 특징을 요약하면 다음과 같다.1. 노인부양의식을 살펴보면 부양을 전적으로 책임진다가 89%로 대체적으로 높은 노인부양의식도를 나타내고 있다. 노인부양의식도에 영향을 미칠 것으로 기대되는 요인은 매우 다양하겠지만 여기서는 기존의 연구재료에서 인정되었던 변수들에 대하여 분석하였다.1) 성별에 따라서는 여학생의 노인부양의식도가 남학생보다 높게 나타났다. 경제적(4.2811), 정서적(4.0112), 서비스부양(4.1898) 모두 여성이 높은 부양의식도를 나타냈다.2) 출생순위에 있어서 노인부양의식도는 외동인 경우(4.3447), 막내(4.2578) 맏이(4.1498) 순으로 부양의식도가 높게 나타났다.3) 종교에 있어서는 기독교(4.2193), 천주교(4.1248), 불교(4.1107) 순으로 부양의식도를 나타냈다.4) 동거경험유무에 따른 노인부양 의식도는 살아본 경험이 있는 경우가 (4.2652) 가장 높은 부양의식도를 갖고 있었다.5) 부모의 양육태도에 따른 노인부양태도는 친절하고 민주적인 가정교육(4.2075)을 받은 집단의 부양의식도가 가장 높게 나타났다.6) 향후 자녀와의 동거희망 여부에 따른 노인부양 의식도에서는 향후 자녀와 살고 싶다(4.1882)고 한 경우의 노인부양의식도가 높게 나타났다.7) 향후 부모님 부양태도에 따른 노인부양의식도의 결과는 부양을 전적으로 책임을 진다(4.3383)가 높게 나타났다.8) 향후 부모님과의 동거희망여부에 따른 노인부양의식도는 부모님과 함께 살고 싶다(4.3473)의 경우가 높게 나타났다.9) 자아존중감과 노인부양의식도의 상관관계에 있어서는 자아존중감이 높을수록 노인부양의 의식도가 증가하는 것으로 나타났다.10) 자신의 노후에 대한 태도와 부정적인 집단의 노인부양의식도가 높게 나타나고 있다.11) 노인에 대한 태도는 긍정적인 태도를 갖고 있는 집단의 노인부양의식도가 부정적인 집단보다 높게 나타났다.끝으로 본 연구의 결과를 기초로 하여 몇 가지 정책함의를 제시해 보고자 한다.1. 노인에 대한 인식이 긍정적일수록 노인부양의식이 높아진다고 나타나고 있다. 이는 조부모와 함께 동거해본 경험이 그렇지 않은 학생들 보다 부양의식이 높게 나타난 사실에서 알 수 있다. 따라서 청소년들이 다양한 방법을 통해서 노인들과의 접촉할 기회를 확대하고 청소년과 노인이 함께 할 수 있는 교육프로그램 개발이 필요하다.2. 청소년들에게 노인에 대한 이해를 갖게 하기 위해 각급 학교 교육 및 교재에 반영하고, 노인체험 등 프로그램을 개발하여 노인에 대한 이해를 할 수 있는 방한을 모색해야 하겠다.3. 부모에 대한 부양의식의 약화는 가족기능의 약화로 문제가 발생한다. 따라서 현재의 가족들이 안고 있는 각종 문제들을 해결할 수 있는 가족프로그램과, 상담 프로그램, 가족기능회복 프로그램 등을 운영하면 가족기능회복과 함께 부모부양에 대한 문제도 긍정적으로 변화시킬 수 있을 것이다.4. 가족이 노부모 부양행동에 대하여 긍정적으로 평가하고 수행할 수 있도록 가족원들을 지지하고 강화시킬 수 있는 교육 프로그램 등이 개발 적용되어야 한다. 또한 사회적 부양에 대한 대책이 마련 되어야한다. 연금제도의 확충, 노인그룹홈의 확충, 일자리제공 등의 각종 노인지원정책을 통해 노인들이 남은 여생을 충분히 부양받을 수 있는 사회환경을 조성해 나가야 한다.5. 노인의 입장에서는 자녀에 대한 의존적 삶을 지향하고 컴퓨터등과 같이 현대문화를 배우고 연구하여 노인의 귀중한 체험과 지식, 기능을 활용하여 새로운 역할을 해내도록 힘써야 할 것이다.6. 노인문제를 체계적, 효율적으로 시행하는 전문기구의 강화, 재정적 예산의 집행이 증대되고, 정책 시행이 일관성 있게 추진해야 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The aged, in the modern society, are not only loosing their economical ability, but can not adopt themselves to the values of a knowledge and information based society that is quickly going from high-tech to even more technological. Particularly, the difference of values between young and aged at home, conflicts among different generations, psychological conflicts between mother in laws and daughter in laws cause the aged to feel increasing mental and emotional isolation. Moreover, the problem of supporting the aged is a serious social problem in Korea because of the rapidly growing aged population.Now, the growth of the aged population and supporting the aged is a big issued social problem in this country. In fact, life expectancy is getting longer but aged people who are accustomed to the traditional family supporting system can't provide for their old age. Nevertheless, they meet nuclear family society because of the changing the values to the family, the nuclear family society makes the supporting system ever worse.So, it is very meaningful to investigate the young people's mind and the concerns in the aged as they are in the position of supporting the old. In this research, the minds of the highschool students in Jeong-eup city in being aware of supporting the older people inquired comprehensively and in detail. The purpose of this research is to offer it as a material basis of an alternative welfare plan to solve the problem like supporting the aged. The purpose of this research also directs the attention of the youth's education according to the result of the analysis of this society.To achieve this purpose, researcher first looked into some documentary records to study the problem of supporting the aged and its factors in the 21st century of industrialization. After the theoretical studies of supporting the aged, I researched the actual conditions, I made a survey and co-related the factors of the social population, the relationships of the youth's family and the degree of the supporting the old god, compared to the attitude of towards the aged.Random sampling was done in Jeong-eup which is a traditional country city, and thought to be modernized in traditional art and culture. 600 students in 3 classes of each highschool in the city were randomly selected and the survey was carried out for 2 days from april 1 to April 2. 'ANOVA' analysis was used as material analysis. To analyze the material, the mean value and the standard deviation was figured and compared. The T-test was used to analyze the degree of the meaning compared to the total statistic. Particularly the SPSS program was used to analyze the data.The variables that were expected to influence the consciousness toward supporting the old have been also investigated, and the results are as follows;According to the statistic, the students in this area have a high degree of consciousness in supporting the old people. There are various factors that effect to the consciousness of supporting the old aged, but in this research, the researcher analyzed variables that were permitted in the established research materials. 1) The degree of girls is higher than that of boys in gender. Girls showed a high degree of consciousness to supporting the old people in economical, mental, and service supporting.2) The degree in birth order is in the order of an only child, the last born, and the first born child.3) Supporting degree in religion is in the order of christians, catholics, and buddhists4) The higher degree was shown by the variables that had experience living with old aged.5) The group that was educated democratically and kindly showed a higher degree than the group that received strict and overriding education.6) Research estimated that the people whose grandparents were still alive had a lower degree of support than the people whose grandparents were absented.7) The degree was higher amongst the people who wanted to live their children later on.8) In the attitude to supporting their parent later on, total supporting was the most answers.9) To the question with whom they would live later on, the most choice was to live with their own parent.10) In the relation between self-esteem and the degree of supporting aged, the more self-esteem, the higher the degree.11) The group that have the negative thought about their future shows higher degree12) Those who think they will have honor with their age shows a higher degreeIn conclusion, let' s draw up several plans based on the result from this research.1. According to this research, the more positive the attitude of people toward the old people, the higher the degree of consciousness to supporting the aged. Because the higher degree was shown by the variables that had experienced living with their grandparents. In this regard, it is necessary that some adequate programs should be developed that bring young people into contact with the aged and be with them in various ways.2. To help young people to understand old people, school authorities create some educational programs to aid in better understanding the aged. These programs should be included in the curriculum.3. The weakening of the consciousness with regards to supporting parent comes from the degradation of the family function. Thus, family programs, counseling programs, and restoration programs for the family function must be managed to solve many serious family problems. That will bring positive results regarding supporting parents which would aid in the recovery of family functioning.4. Educational programs that focus on family members encourage and support their members to have positive attitudes towards supporting parents must be developed and adopted into this society. In addition, government needs to add social supporting systems, enhance the annuity system and group homes for aged, and provide jobs for old people. In the long run, these efforts can make old people fully supported in feeling at home.5. On the contrary, the old aged strain themselves depending on their children, rather than they learning and studying modern culture, such as computer, so that they are responsible for playing a new and important role in society with their plenty, even precious experience and knowledge6. Professional organization which manages the old people's problems in systematical and efficient ways should be enhanced. Finally, financial support for old people must be greatly increased and policy is needed to be promoted consistently.
