고등학생이 지각하는 부모부양의식과 가족건강성에 관한 연구

This study aimed to provide useful data for inventing parent support policies and maintaining family strength by investigating high school students' consciousness on parent support and family strength in the changing modern society, focusing on South Gyeongsang province.
For this, a survey research using questionnaires was conducted on 598 male and female high school students in three cities (C city, J city, T city) and two counties (G county, Y county) in South Gyeongsang province. Collected data were analyzed using the SPSS 12.0, and a reliability analysis, percentage, average, a t-test, a one-way analysis of variance, Duncan's multiple range test, a correlation analysis, and a regression analysis were used as analytical methods. A thesis submitted to the Committee of the Graduate School of Education, Gyeongsang National University in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the Master's degree of Education in August, 2007.
The study results are summarized as follows.
1. High school students' consciousness on parent support was found to be 3.95 out of 5, which showed that they had a high level of consciousness on supporting parents. Regarding its subcategories, economic supporting consciousness was shown to be the highest with 4.20 out of 5, followed by service supporting consciousness with 3.90 and emotional supporting consciousness with 3.76.
When the study investigated relevant variables showing significant differences in high school students' consciousness on supporting parents, it was found that the variables affecting parent supporting consciousness among socio-demographic variables were school year and father's occupation, and self-esteem and filial duty consciousness among individual variables.
2. High school students' family strength was found to be normal with an average of 3.28 out of 5. Among its subcategories, family relationship was the highest with 3.49, followed by problem solution ability with 3.34, communications among family members with 3.30, and share of a value system with 2.99.
When the study investigated variables showing significant differences in high school students' family strength, monthly pocket money and father's occupation were found among socio-demographic variables, and self-esteem and filial duty consciousness were found to be significant relevant variables among individual variables.
3. It was found that high school students' parent supporting consciousness had a static correlation with family strength.
4. Filial duty consciousness was found to be a variable most affecting family strength followed by family supporting consciousness and self-esteem. These three variables were found to have an explanation power of 39.7% regarding high school students' family strength.
This study showed that high school students' parent supporting consciousness and family strength were high on the whole. In addition, it was found that the biggest variable affecting family strength was filial duty consciousness, and this suggested that filial duty consciousness was very significant for family strength. Therefore, it is needed to investigate measures to develop high school students' filial duty consciousness for improving their parent supporting consciousness and making a strength family.
