체계적이고 효율적인 경량전철시스템 건설 및 운영을 위해 시스템엔지니어링(SE) 기술의 적용은 필수적인 활동이 되었다. 이에 따라 사업수행과정에서 다양한 요구사항과 위험요소를 적기에 식별하고 조치하는 시스템엔지니어링 인력의 전문성이 매우 중요하게 고려되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 경량전철 시스템엔지니어링 사업과 관련된 이해관계자들(획득자 및 공급자, 그리고 협력업체 등)을 위한 SE 교육교재를 개발하여 사업수행 전 및 수행과정에서 활용할 수 있도록 하였다. 교육교재는 일반(공통)과정, 수행자(실무자)과정, 심화수행자(관리자)과정)으로 구분하여 개발하였다. 이는 경량전철사업의 성공과 우수한 성과 창출을 위해 중요한 역할을 할 것으로 기대된다.
화물용 튜브운송시스템의 운영개념서 및 운영요구사항서 개발에 관한 연구

본 논문은 전세계적으로 신교통시스템으로 연구되고 있는 튜브운송시스템에 대한 개념과 화물용 튜브운송시스템의 운영개념서 및 운영요구사항의 개발에 관한 것이다. 철도시스템의 개발 초기에 시스템의 정확한 운영개념을 확립하고 이를 기반으로 시스템에 대한 사용자의 명확한 사용자 요구사항 및 운영요구사항을 도출하는 과정은 매우 중요하며, 시스템의 개발 초기 단계 측 개념설계 단계에서 반드시 수행되어야 한다. 본 논문을 통해서 문헌적인 운영개념서의 형식에 대한 조사, 특징, 그리고 현실적인 운영상황을 고려한 화물용 튜브운송시스템의 운영개념서를 제안하였다. 운영개념서를 통해서 사용목적, 운영시나리오, 비상상황 등의 정보가 식별하였으며 이를 바탕으로 시스템의 운영요구사항서를 개발하였다. 개발된 운영개념서 및 운영요구사항서는 확인된 사용자 요구사항 및 시스템 요구사항으로 구체화 되며, 시스템 아키텍처의 참고문서로서 활용될 수 있다.
플랜트 FEED 설계를 위한 시스템엔지니어링 기술프로세스 적용방안 연구 - 환경플랜트 사례를 중심으로

With rapid growth of the world plant market, an increasing attention is paid on the plant engineering. Up to present time, Korean plant engineering technology has been concerned with the down stream part of the plant engineering, so called EPC, considered as a lower value chain compared with the up stream, composed of FEED(Front End Engineering Design) and PMC(Project Management Consultancy). In other words, a key issue for Korean plant industry is how to catch up the FEED technology, currently occupied by the advanced countries. In this paper, we propose an SE(Systems Engineering) approach, conventionally applied for aerospace and defense industry, to the FEED for plant engineering. Specifically, we proposed a new SE process composed of: 1) SPA matrix for reverse systems engineering, and 2) PPA matrix for forward systems engineering. To illustrate the proposed method, a case study for an environmental plant is performed.

Plant industry is one of technology-intensive and most prosperous industries in Korea because of its recent prosperity and promising outlook in export. However, no Korean EPC company has yet been well prepared in lifting their capacity sufficient enough to get the upstream conceptual or basic design and engineering orders for sizable plant projects which are known as the more value-added. If systems engineering, a methodology which developed complex systems such as airplanes and has been justified its effectiveness in Defense and NASA projects, can be integrated with plant engineering which should be developed and applied based on the requirements of so many stakeholders, conditions, lifecycle concepts, and constraints of the projects, huge synergic effect is expected particularly in developing a specific upstream design, which is a conceptual or basic design. The notion of integration with each other between systems engineering and plant engineering can be really the crux of EPC's success in any plant projects. This paper suggests an approach showing a methodology how to dig out, analyze, evaluate, verify and implement the stakeholders' requirements into a plant design in conceptual phase using the theory and skills of systems engineering. ISO/IEC 15288 well known systems engineering standards is used. Carbon capture system is used for a case study, for it is an emerging technology in reducing emissions of carbon dioxide causing global warming from flue gas after combustion. Here systems engineering was proven to play a substantial role in enhancing the capability of designers in developing a conceptual design of whole plant or certain part of crucial plant systems.

Manufacturing Execution System(MES) is in charge of manufacturing execution in the shop floor based on the inputs given by high level information such as ERP, etc. The typical MES implemented is not tightly interconnected with shop floor control system including real (or near real) time monitoring and control devices such as PLC. The lack of real-time interfaces is one of the major obstacles to achieve accurate and optimization of the total performance index of the shop floor system. Smart factory system in the paradigm of Industry 4.0 tries to solve the problems via CPS (Cyber Physical System) technology and FILS (Factory In-the-Loop System). In this paper, we conducted Systems Engineering Approach to design an advanced MES (namely Smart MES) that can accommodate CPS and FILS concept. Specifically, we tailored Systems Engineering Process (SEP) based on an International Standard formalized as ISO/IEC 15288 to develop Stakeholders' Requirements (StR), System Requirements (SyR). The deliverables of each process are modeled and represented by the SysML, UML customized to Systems Engineering. The results of the research can provide a conceptual framework for future MES that can play a crucial role in the Smart Factory.

The aim of this study is to propose the design process suitable for developing the cognitive interface considering system engineering process (SEP) models. Due to the cognitive workload in an operation of HMS, some cognitive interfaces have been developed. It is somehow difficult to use the developed cognitive interface in real working environment since they often showed a conflict to stereotyped interface. So it is necessary to develop the design process suitable for the more operator-specific interface. Various SEP models were reviewed for selecting the suitable design process which might resolve the problem from design-specific interface. The suitable process for designing cognitive interface was proposed considering currently usable SEP models. The findings from the study may be helpful for systematic approach to designing cognitive interface in digitalized environment. The proposed design process would be applied for easily employing the cognitive interface in digitalized working environment such as main control room in nuclear power plant.

Because submarine is high-technology and very complex system, it takes a lot of time, cost and manpower for design. For efficient concept design, application of systematic method is required such as system engineering. In this study, we studied application method of MBSE for submarine concept design with SWBS (Ship Work Breakdown Structure). Components of submarine system from SWBS were classified and organized as system architecture with 'Vitech CORE'. Through the MBSE application for concept design, systematic, efficient and traceable concept design of submarine was considered.

Recently, the Korean Railroad have been operating separately by Korea Rail Network and the Korail since 2005. In addition, because of the lack of government's social overhead capital, New railway projects have been built and operated by private investors which don't have railway operating experience. Therefore, systems engineering management is needed from the initial planning stage to the construction and the opening. In this paper, structural features were considered according to the separation of Daegok-Sosa-Wonsi Private Finance Initiative (Daegok-Sosa, Sosa-wonsi) and the operating agency's unification(Daegok - Sosa business operations). And based on the domestic system engineering applications, System-Engineering Implementation was studied.
전산지원 시스템 엔지니어링 도구를 이용한 합동능력 통합 및 개발 환경 구축 사례

US DoD operated JCIDS(Joint Capability Integration and Development System) for top down requirement generation. Although the JCIDS can be a good practice for the countries which are trying to shift from bottom up to top down requirement generation, it contains many processes related with review and approval. In this study we structured a joint capability integration and development process from the JCIDS eliminating the organization dependent review or approval process so that it can be applied to any organization with some modification. Furthermore we implemented the process in the computer aided systems engineering tool, Cradle, for convenient use of the process. The result of this study can provide a basic process for top down capability development, and an efficient why of doing each element of the process using CASE tool.

In this study, unattended Light Rail Transit System (K-AGT) is a general-purpose standards safety requirements of IEC 62267 based System Engineering Process (SEP) was used. Functional analysis and physical architecting for each requirements through the vehicle was classified into sub-systems, design was analyzed in terms of SE. The analysis of the proposed system engineering process, unattended train operation (UTO), driverless train operation(DTO) design of the safety measures to be used as the basis is studied.
