        전자식 절차서 시스템의 원전제어적합성 확인 및 검증절차

        The analog or partly digital typed interface of main control room in nuclear power plant (NPP) is gradually being replaced to the totally digitalized interface suitable for the digital environment. SKN 3,4 Nuclear Power Plant is currently developed in such a way to employ advanced displays and controls such as computerized procedure system(CPS), large display panel(LDP), and Soft control. According to the developed design process, the main control room (MCR) of the SKN3,4 was aesthetically designed based on a design concept of the health and sustainability and technically evaluated with human factors guidelines, which somehow lack of the confidence on the evaluation for the rapidly changing digital environment. The suitable review guideline for the digitalized interface and the environment was developed such as the guideline for CPS with information displays on VDU. For the guideline development, tremendous guidelines and technical papers related to evaluation issues of digital environment has been collected, analyzed and transformed to electric database forms and then built on database management system, called Design Review Supporting System to retrieve the appropriate issues for the practical usage of evaluators-in-field.

        교통 환승 시스템 분석에 대한 연구

        Even though the efficient public transportation system has been issued in many areas, a few practical methodology of analysis and evaluation of the transit system has been developed since applying the practical methodology faces many difficulties as a feasible solution. For example, designing the public transit transfer system needs the feasible consensus of requirement and solution among the related people and institutes, which the system engineering concept should be involved. It is necessary and confident to analyze and evaluate the public transit transfer system in term of system engineering process.

        디지털 정보표시 환경의 지침 기반 평가 기술

        Anthropometric Data Collection for MCR Environment Design of Nuclear Power Plant

        Human Factors Engineering (HFE) for Main Control Room (MCR) of Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) has been applied to optimize the design and operation of Man-Machine Interface (MMI) between operators and their equipment in consideration of physical, psychological and cognitive aspects. However, it has been observed that operators complain about environmental discomfort in the MCR since the operators in the MCR experience excessive stress due to the environmental factors such as inappropriate interior and lighting system. Since the HFE is an essential factor for the high fidelity performance of operators in the MCR, the adequate MCR environment design with HFE rules and guidelines is as much important to enhance the operability and reliability of the MCRs. Therefore, there has been a strong need to design a pleasant environment for the MCR to improve human performance of the operators.

        Developing an Embedded Method to Recognize Human Pilot Intentions In an Intelligent Cockpit Aids for the Pilot Decision Support System

        Several recent aircraft accidents occurred due to goal conflicts between human and machine actors. To facilitate the management of the cockpit activities considering these observations. a computational aid. the Agenda Manager (AM) has been developed for use in simulated cockpit environments. It is important to know pilot intentions performing cockpit operations accurately to improve AM performance. Without accurate knowledge of pilot goals or intentions, the information from AM may lead to the wrong direction to the pilot who is using the information. To provide a reliable flight simulation environment regarding goal conflicts. a pilot goal communication method (GCM) was developed to facilitate accurate recognition of pilot goals. Embedded within AM, the GCM was used to recognize pilot goals and to declare them to the AM. Two approaches to the recognition of pilots goals were considered: (1) The use of an Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) system to recognize overtly or explicitly declared pilot goals. and (2) inference of covertly or implicitly declared pilot goals via the use of an intent inferencing mechanism. The integrated mode of these two methods could overcome the covert goal mis-understanding by use of overt GCM. And also could it overcome workload concern with overt mode by the use of covert GCM. Through simulated flight environment experimentation with real pilot subjects, the proposed GCM has demonstrated its capability to recognize pilot intentions with a certain degree of accuracy and to handle incorrectly declared goals. and was validated in terms of subjective workload and pilot flight control performance. The GCM communicating pilot goals were implemented within the AM to provide a rich environment for the study of human-machine interactions in the supervisory control of complex dynamic systems.

      • 디지털 정보표시 기반 원전 제어실 평가 기술

        원전과 같은 인간기계시스템의 인터페이스 설계 및 평가는 인간공학 지침을 기반으로 수행되고 있다. 디스플레이와 컴퓨터 기술이 비약적으로 발전하면서 원전 인터페이스도 아날로그 타입에서 일정부분 디지털 형태로 수용하는 혼합형 제어실로 점차 바뀌어 가고 있으며 향후 디지털기반의 첨단제어실 형태로의 설계가 빠르게 진행 중에 있다. 본 논문은 다양한 디지털 기반 인터페이스 지침들을 통합하여 아날로그 정신모형에 기반한 현원전제어실 지침에 대한 체계적인 적합성 검증과 디지털 환경에 적합한 첨단제어실의 평가지침 개발에 관한 연구 내용을 기술하고 있다.

        A significant number of aircraft incidents and accidents have been caused, in part, by flightcrew failure to properly manage cockpit activities, among others representing the failure to initiate activities at the appropriate time, misprioritization of activities, or the failure to appropriately monitor activities and terminate them when required. In modern aircraft, flightcrew is no longer only actor in the control of cockpit operation. Machine actors such as AutoPilot are playing more active role in cockpit operation. In fact, several recent accidents were occurred due to goal conflict between human and machine actors. To facilitate the management of the cockpit activities considering these observations, a computational model has been developed for use in simulated cockpit environments.

        The aim of this study is to propose the design process suitable for developing the cognitive interface considering system engineering process (SEP) models. Due to the cognitive workload in an operation of HMS, some cognitive interfaces have been developed. It is somehow difficult to use the developed cognitive interface in real working environment since they often showed a conflict to stereotyped interface. So it is necessary to develop the design process suitable for the more operator-specific interface. Various SEP models were reviewed for selecting the suitable design process which might resolve the problem from design-specific interface. The suitable process for designing cognitive interface was proposed considering currently usable SEP models. The findings from the study may be helpful for systematic approach to designing cognitive interface in digitalized environment. The proposed design process would be applied for easily employing the cognitive interface in digitalized working environment such as main control room in nuclear power plant.
