A Rapidly New-typed Detection of Norovirus Based on F0F1-ATPase Molecular Motor Biosensor

        Zhuo Zhao,Jie Zhang,Mei-Ling Xu,Zhi-Peng Liu,Hua Wang,Ming Liu,Yan-Yan Yu,Li Sun,Hui Zhang,Hai-Yan Wu 한국생물공학회 2016 Biotechnology and Bioprocess Engineering Vol.21 No.1

In order to adapt port rapid detection of food borne norovirus, presently we developed a new typed detection method based on F0F1-ATPase molecular motor biosensor. A specific probe was encompassed the conservative region of norovirus and F0F1-ATPase within chromatophore was constructed as a molecular motor biosensor through the “ε-subunit antibody-streptomycinbiotin- probe” system. Norovirus was captured based on probe-RNA specific binding. Our results demonstrated that the Limit of Quantification (LOQ) is 0.005 ng/mL for NV RNA and also demonstrated that this method possesses specificity and none cross-reaction for food borne virus. What’s more, the experiment used this method could be accomplished in 1 h. We detected 10 samples by using this method and the results were consistent with RT-PCR results. Overall, based on F0F1-ATPase molecular motors biosensor system we firstly established a new typed detection method for norovirus detection and demonstrated that this method is sensitive and specific and can be used in the rapid detection for food borne virus.

Synthesis and Solution Properties of Fluorinated Amphiphilic Polyacrylamide

        Fangyuan Zhao,Kai Du,Zhuo Yi,Chao Du,Zhao Fang,Bingquan Mao 한국고분자학회 2015 폴리머 Vol.39 No.3

A series of hydrophobically associating fluorinated amphiphilic polyacrylamide copolymers with remarkably high heat resistance and salt tolerance were synthesized by free radical micellar copolymerization, using acrylamide (AM) and sodium 2-acrylamido-tetradecane sulfonate (AMC14S) as amphiphilic monomers, and 2-(perfluorooctyl) ethyl acrylate (PFHEA) as hydrophobic monomer. The structure of the terpolymer was characterized by FTIR, 1H NMR and 19F NMR. The solution properties of the terpolymers were investigated in details, and the results showed that the terpolymer solution had strong intermolecular hydrophobic association as the concentration exceeded the critical association concentration 1.5 g/L. The terpolymer solution possessed high surface activity, viscoelasticity, excellent heat resistance, salt tolerance and shearing resistance. The viscosity retention rate of copolymer solution was as high as 59.9% under the condition of fresh wastewater, 85℃ and a 60-days aging test.

      • On the modeling and simulation of the nonlinear dynamic response of NEMS via a couple of nonlocal strain gradient theory and classical beam theory

        Zhao, Jian,Yu, Zhuo Techno-Press 2021 Advances in nano research Vol.11 No.5

In the present research, the dynamic characteristics of the nanoscale tubes and pipes with nonuniform cross-sections are examined. The aforementioned nanostructures are made by imperfect axially functionally graded materials (AFGM) that compose ceramic and metal phases along the tube length direction, involving the porous voids. To this purpose, the Hamilton principle is implemented to obtaining the governing equation and related boundary conditions using classical beam theory coupled to the nonlinear Von-Kármán theory. In order to apply the size impact, the nonlocal strain gradient theory is considered that both hardening and softening parameters are involved. Also, iteration techniques, including the generalized differential quadrature method (GDQM), are used to solve linear and nonlinear derived partial differential equations (PDE). Finally, the obtained results are explained in detail to investigate the impact of nonlinear amplitude, nonlocal and strain gradient parameter, porosity parameter, etc., for both clamped and simply-supported types of boundary conditions, which are helpful to design the nanoelectromechanical structures (NEMS).

Roles of NMDA NR2B Subtype Receptor in Prefrontal Long-Term Potentiation and Contextual Fear Memory

        Zhao, Ming-Gao,Toyoda, Hiroki,Lee, Yong-Seok,Wu, Long-Jun,Ko, Shanelle W.,Zhang, Xue-Han,Jia, Yongheng,Shum, Fanny,Xu, Hui,Li, Bao-Ming,Kaang, Bong-Kiun,Zhuo, Min Elsevier 2005 Neuron Vol.47 No.6

<P><B>Summary</B></P><P>Cortical plasticity is thought to be important for the establishment, consolidation, and retrieval of permanent memory. Hippocampal long-term potentiation (LTP), a cellular mechanism of learning and memory, requires the activation of glutamate N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptors. In particular, it has been suggested that NR2A-containing NMDA receptors are involved in LTP induction, whereas NR2B-containing receptors are involved in LTD induction in the hippocampus. However, LTP in the prefrontal cortex is less well characterized than in the hippocampus. Here we report that the activation of the NR2B and NR2A subunits of the NMDA receptor is critical for the induction of cingulate LTP, regardless of the induction protocol. Furthermore, pharmacological or genetic blockade of the NR2B subunit in the cingulate cortex impaired the formation of early contextual fear memory. Our results demonstrate that the NR2B subunit of the NMDA receptor in the prefrontal cortex is critically involved in both LTP and contextual memory.</P>

Mass transfer and kinetics study on the sulfite forced oxidation with manganese ion catalyst

        Zhao Bo,Li Yan,Zhuo Yuqun,Tong Huiling,Zhang Xiaowen,Chen Changhe 한국화학공학회 2007 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.24 No.3

limestone scrubbing is the most common flue gas desulfurization process (FGD) for control of sulfurdioxide emissions from the combustion of fossil fuels. Forced oxidation, which controls the overall reaction of the sulfurdioxide absorption, is the key path of the process. Manganese which comes from the coal is one of the catalysts duringthe forced oxidation process. In the present work, the two-film theory was used to analyze the sulfite forced oxidationreaction with an image boundary recognition technique, and the oxidation rate was experimentally studied by contactingpure oxygen with a sodium sulfite solution. There was a critical sulfite concentration 0.328 mol/Lwithout catalyst ortion constant k; furthermore, we obtained the order with respect to the sulfite and Mn2+ concentrations. When the Mn2+catalyst concentration was kept unchanged, the sulfite oxidation reaction rate was controlled by dual film and the reac-tion kinetics was first order with respect to sulfite while concentration was below 0.328 mol/L; the sulfite oxidationreaction rate was controlled by gas film only and the reaction kinetics was zero order with respect to sulfite while concentration over 0.328 mol/L. When concentration was kept unchanged, the sulfite oxidation reaction rate de-pended on gas-liquid mass transfer and the reaction kinetics was diferent in various stages with respect to Mn2+ con-centrations.

Modelling of Acoustic Waves Propagating in Nesting Fibonacci Super-Lattice Phononic Crystal

        Min Zhao,Hai-Feng Qi,Jia-Hui Xu,Ya-Zhuo Xie,Xing-Gan Zhang,Jian Gao 대한금속·재료학회 2014 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.20 No.4

Herein, we report construction of one kind of nesting-Fibonacci-super-lattice phononic crystal, in whichthe super-lattice cell is a well-defined Fibonacci generation sequence. We present a comparative study onband-gap structures of acoustic waves propagating in one-dimensional, nesting Fibonacci-periodic structureand simple-periodic structure. We find that there are more band gaps in nesting Fibonacci super-latticemodels, and that they present behavior different from the split-up of band gaps with different generationnumbers. With the increase of generation number, more band gaps split and occur. Additionally, whengeneration number becomes larger, Bragg scattering becomes more significant: the characteristic curvesbecome flatter and band gaps become wider. Furthermore, we study the effect of various parameters suchas density, thickness and defects on band-gap structures. Our work is significant both for understandingthe intrinsic physical properties of nesting Fibonacci sequences and for providing flexible choices to meetreal engineering requirements.

Degradation Mechanisms of Chloride Contaminated Cast-in-Situ Concrete Partially Exposed to Magnesium-Sulfate Combined Environment

        Gaowen Zhao,Yiqi Hu,Shaomin Li,Zhuo Wang,Mengzhen Guo,Fangzhou Han,Haoran Wang 대한토목학회 2023 KSCE Journal of Civil Engineering Vol.27 No.2

Cast-in-situ concrete suffers complicated working conditions in sulfate-rich saline soil areas. Sulfate-magnesium combined attack can be encountered in heavy saline or salty lake areas. This study investigated the degradation process and corresponding mechanisms of cast-in-situconcrete, contaminated by chlorides, partially exposed to sulfate-magnesium combined corrosiveenvironments. Concrete samples were cast and partially immersed in the pre-prepareddistilled water, sulfate or sulfate-magnesium mixed solutions for 12 months. Physical andmechanical properties of concrete samples were continuously measured and recorded duringthe immersion. Sulfate concentration in different depths were measured by chemical titration. SEM, XRD, TG/DTG tests were conducted to analyze the microstructural and mineral propertychanges after corrosion for concrete suffered different corrosion conditions. Results show thatpartially immersed concrete encounters both chemical and physical degradation induced bycorrosive sources. Concrete contaminated by chlorides obviously shows weaker resistanceagainst sulfate attack and the strength development is also negatively affected. Magnesium inthe environments reduces the early strength of partially immersed cast-in-situ concrete whileenhancing the sulfate resistance ability in the later corrosion stage. Magnesium limits thenegative effect of contaminated chlorides on the partially immersed cast-in-situ concrete. Performance of cast-in-situ concrete is different from precast concrete when encounteringdifferent corrosive sources, and thus more attention should be paid on the degradation ofcast-in-situ concrete structures induce by aggressive environments.

Structural Behaviour of an Assembled Steel Joint Composed of CHS KK-Joint and Doubler Plate for Connection with Steel Tensile Rods

        Bo Zhao,Han Zhu,Yue Yin,Zhuo Liu,Qinghua Han 한국강구조학회 2018 International Journal of Steel Structures Vol.18 No.2

Structural behavior of an assembled steel joint composed of CHS KK-joint and a doubler plate for connection with steel tensile rods was studied. A full-scale test was conducted for the assembled joint on a special made self-balanced reaction frame with three high strength steel strands to apply tensile loads on two ear plates and compressive load on the chord member of the joint. Ultimate load carrying capacity, failure mode and stress distribution of the joint under monotonic loads were obtained experimentally. The static behavior of the joint was also determined by nonlinear fi nite element analysis. The results of numerical analysis agreed very well with those of the test, which verifi ed the rationality of the fi nite element model. The hysteretic behavior of the joint was then studied by fi nite element analysis. Hysteretic curve was obtained, based on which ductile ratio and energy dissipation factor were calculated. Outcomes from both the test and the fi nite element analysis proved that the assembled joint has satisfactory load carrying capacity and acceptable seismic performance.

A Method of Chinese and Thai Cross-Lingual Query Expansion Based on Comparable Corpus

Tang, Peili,Zhao, Jing,Yu, Zhengtao,Wang, Zhuo,Xian, Yantuan Korea Information Processing Society 2017 Journal of information processing systems Vol.13 No.4

Cross-lingual query expansion is usually based on the relationship among monolingual words. Bilingual comparable corpus contains relationships among bilingual words. Therefore, this paper proposes a method based on these relationships to conduct query expansion. First, the word vectors which characterize the bilingual words are trained using Chinese and Thai bilingual comparable corpus. Then, the correlation between Chinese query words and Thai words are computed based on these word vectors, followed with selecting the Thai candidate expansion terms via the correlative value. Then, multi-group Thai query expansion sentences are built by the Thai candidate expansion words based on Chinese query sentence. Finally, we can get the optimal sentence using the Chinese and Thai query expansion method, and perform the Thai query expansion. Experiment results show that the cross-lingual query expansion method we proposed can effectively improve the accuracy of Chinese and Thai cross-language information retrieval.
