        In Oriental Medicine, Atopic dermatitis(AD) belongs to the category of the Naesun(奶癬), Taesun(胎癬), Taeryumchang(胎斂瘡), Eczema(濕疹), Seupchang(濕瘡) Samanpung(四彎風), Chimumchang(浸淫瘡). The Basic Prescriptions which have been used for treatment of Atopic dermatitis are saengryusamultang(生料四物湯), Onchungeum(溫淸飮), Seungmagalgeuntang(升麻葛根湯), Hoichunryangkyuksan(回春凉膈散), Doghengsan(導赤散), Pyungweesan(平胃散), Heungbangpaedoksan(荊防敗毒散), Goomigangharltang(九味羌活湯), Baekhotang(百虎湯), Gaegytang(桂枝湯), Yukmigihyuangtang(六味地黃湯). AD can divide three groups, Acute-Type, Semiacute-Type, Chronic-Type, according to it's condition. This study shows that it can be applicate Seungmagalgeuntang(升麻葛根湯), Hoichunryangkyuksan(回春凉膈散), Doghengsan(導赤散), Heungbangpaedoksan(荊防敗毒散), Goomigangharltang(九味羌活湯), Baekhotang(百虎湯), Gaegytang(桂枝湯) for treatment of Acute-Type, Pyungweesan(平胃散) for treatment of Semiacute-Type, and saengryusamu1tang(生料四物湯), Onchungeum(溫淸飮) for treatment of Chronic-Type.

        We investigated the effects of Gamihwangryunjihwangtang on serum total cholesterol, high density lipoprotein, triglyceride, GOT, GPT and body weight. Body weight and trunk fat decreased significantly. These results suggest that the effect of Gamihwangryunjihwangtang related to the decrease of body fat.       • 슬립모델을 이용한 변형률의존 유형변형 탄소성재료의 구성방정식 개발

        최근들어 안전하고 합리적인 구조를 설계하기 위하여 구조물의 내충돌 또는 내충격에 대한 요구와 관심이 높아지고 있는데, 이러한 문제들은 아주 짧은 시간동안에 대변형이 일어나는 비선형문제라는 특징이 있다. 구조재료는 변형속도가 빨라짐에 따라 정적인 범주에서 보이는 거동과는 달리 변형률의존적인 거동을 보인다. 따라서 대변형 소성문제인 충돌해석 등에는 종래 사용하여 온 변형률 비의존 재료구성 방정식으로는 한계가 있다. 이 논문에서는 이러한 점을 개선하기 위하여 연강의 소성거동을 잘 나타낼 수 있는 소성슬립모델을 채용하고, 비선형경화를 도입하여 변형도 적용범위를 확장한 대변형 탄소성 변형률의존 재료구성 방정식을 제시하였다. 본 구성방정식의 특징으로 항복조건과 하중조건이 필요없기 때문에 계산이 간편하며, 전위밀도와 속도로써 소성을 표현하기 때문에 보다 물리적인 의미를 가지고 금속재료의 소성 현상을 나타낼 수 있다. The advanced development in many fields of engineering and science has caused many interests and demands fer crashworthiness and non-linear dynamic transient analysis of structure response. Crash and impact problems have a dominant characteristic of large deformation for short time scales with material plasticity. The structural material shows rate-dependent behaviors in those cases. Conventional rate-independent constitutive equations used in the general purposed finite analysis programs are inadequate for dynamic finite strain problems. In this paper, a rate-dependent constitutive equation for elastic-plastic material is developed. The plastic stretch rate is modeled based on slip model with dislocation velocity and its density so that there is no yielding condition, and no loading conditions. Non-linear hardening rule is also introduced for finite strain. Material constants of present constitutive equation are determined by experimental data of mild steel, and the constitutive equation is applied to uniaxile tension loading.

      • 소성스핀의 발생기구에 대한 연구

        지금까지 소성스핀은 내부응력(역응력)에 의한 재료의 이방성에서 유래한다고 알려져 왔다. 소성스핀은 역응력의 객관성률에 적용되어 왔고, 또한 Jaumann률을 사용할 때 단순전단에서 해가 요동하는데 이에 대한 한 해결책으로도 사용되어 왔다. 그러나 소성스핀의 발생 원인에 기본적인 잘못이 있다고 사료된다. 본 연구에서는 결정 재료의 소성변형을 고찰하고 종래와는 다른 소성스핀 발생기구를 제시한다. 소성변형에 대한 재료의 기하학적인 특성과 2가지 이상의 응력성분이 동시에 작용해야 소성스핀은 발생한다. 그러므로 종래에 알려진 바와 달리 소성스핀은 특별한 경우를 제외하고는 미미하고, 초기의 재료직조(texture)에 민감하다. It has been proposed that plastic spin originates from material anisotropy such as internal stress. The plastic spin has been applied to the objective rates of back stresses and used as the cure for the oscillation of solution in pure shear with Jaumann rate. However, there have been likely to be some fundamental misleadings in the origin of plastic spin. In this paper, plastic deformations of polycrstalline materials are discussed in detail, and new origins for plastic spin are suggested in which it originates from geometric properties of plastic deformation and from the simultaneous stress components. It is also shown that the plastic spin is not significant and is sensitive to initially given texture.

        실험적 뇌간압박

        Patterns of brain-stem compression and secondary brain-stem evoked postentials were investigated to correlate with expanding mass volume and location in mass-induced supratentorial brain compression in cats in which the subjects were divided into four experimental group i.e., frontal, temporal, parietal, and occipital brain-compressed groups. Postmortem inspection of the brain-stem showed either unilateral or bilateral dorsal herniation of the brain in frontal and temporal brain-compressed groups and dorsolateral herniation in parietal and occipital brain-compressed groups, respectively. Microscopic examination revealed that the secondary brain-stem hemorrhages were mostly caused by venous bleeding secondary to venous congestion, the bleeding being more severe in occipital brain-compressed group. As the intracranial pressure was raised by expansion of a supratentorial balloon, the late components of the BSEP were suppressed first, followed by the suppression of the early components. In BSEP recording. a significant change was observed in Vth wave with prolongation of latency and decrease in amplitude. This finding suggests that the midbrain is the most vulnerable to compression ischemia. In parietal group, the Vth wave started to be prolonged at 0.4㎖ of balloon expansion and totally disappeared at 1.8㎖ of expansion.

        DBA1J 마우스에서 가감보중익기탕이 콜라젠 유도 관절염 억제에 미치는 효과

        N/A Objectives : The present study has been undertaken to investigate the effect of Kagam-Bojungikgitang (KBT) decoction on development of collagen-induced arthrtis (CIA) in DBAl J mice. Methods : CIA was induced in UBAJ1 mice by immunization with bovine type II collagen (CIU and treatment with lipopolysacchride (LPS). KBT is the water extracts prepared from Ginseng Radix, Astragali Radix, Angelicae gigantis Radix, Astractylodis Rhizoma alba, Aurantii nobilis Pericarpium, Glycyrrhizae Radix, Artemisiae iwayomogii Herba, Scutellariae Radx. This is a modifitd prescription of Bojungikgitang, which has been used for the treatment of indigestion, and immunological disease in oriental countries. KBT was orally administered at difference doses. The incidence of arthritis, arthritis index, levels of tumor necrosis factor -alpha (TNF-a). interferon-gama (IFN-V), interleukin lbeta (IL-lP), IL - 3 . IL--10, II- 13. and prostaglandin E? (PGE.1 and cyclooxygenase~-2 (COX21 activity were investigated. Results : KBT dose- dependently suppressed the release of T h l cytokines (TNF-a, IFN-.v, and IL-1 8 ) and inflammatory mediators (PGE? and COX--2 caused by immunization of CII and stimulation of 1,PS. KUT without cytotoxic effext. Kagam-bojunyikgitang`s Inhibitory effects were better than Ehjungikgitang in PGEz production and COX-2 expression. However, KBT increased markedly the production of Th:! cytokines (IL-4, IL 10, and IL -13). Therefor , KBT suppressed markedly the incidence of arthritis and arthritis index caused by immunization of CII and stimulation of LPS. Conclusion : These results suggest that KBT suppress inflammatory mediators and regulates Th l and Th2 cytokmes. And these properties may contribute to the strong anti-arthritis of KBT.

        숙지황, 부자 전탕액이 고혈압 백서의 혈압에 미치는 영향

        한의학에 있어서 음양의 조절은 매우 중요하다. 숙지황은 음허를 치료하는 주약이며, 부자는 양허를 치료하는 주약이다. 한의학에서 신성고혈압의 발생은 음허와 관련이 있다고 하였다. 본 연구는 실험적 신성고혈압과 자연발증고혈압 백서에 숙지황과 부자 전탕액을 투여 후 혈압의 변동과 혈장 renin 활성도, aldosterone 및 심방이뇨호르몬 (atrial natriuretic hormone)의 변동을 관찰하였다. 숙지황 투여후 실험적 신성고혈압 백서의 혈압은 감소하였다. 부자 전탕액 투여 후 자연발증고혈압 백서의 혈압 상승이 억제되었다. 숙지황 및 부자 전탕액 투여 후 자연발증고혈압 백서의 혈장 renin 활성도는 감소하였다. 부자 전탕액 투여 후 신성고혈압 백서의 혈장 ANP 농도는 감소하였다. 부자 전탕액의 혈압강하 작용은 ANP 및 aldosterone 농도의 변동과 관련이 있다고 사료된다.

      • Heat‐induced chaperone activity of serine/threonine protein phosphatase 5 enhances thermotolerance in <i>Arabidopsis thaliana</i>

        <P><B>Summary</B></P><P><P>This study reports that <I>Arabidopsis thaliana</I> protein serine/threonine phosphatase 5 (AtPP5) plays a pivotal role in heat stress resistance. A high‐molecular‐weight (HMW) form of AtPP5 was isolated from heat‐treated <I>A. thaliana</I> suspension cells. AtPP5 performs multiple functions, acting as a protein phosphatase, foldase chaperone, and holdase chaperone. The enzymatic activities of this versatile protein are closely associated with its oligomeric status, ranging from low oligomeric protein species to HMW complexes.</P><P>The phosphatase and foldase chaperone functions of AtPP5 are associated primarily with the low‐molecular‐weight (LMW) form, whereas the HMW form exhibits holdase chaperone activity. Transgenic over‐expression of <I>AtPP5</I> conferred enhanced heat shock resistance to wild‐type <I>A. thaliana</I> and a T‐DNA insertion knock‐out mutant was defective in acquired thermotolerance. A recombinant phosphatase mutant (H290N) showed markedly increased holdase chaperone activity.</P><P>In addition, enhanced thermotolerance was observed in transgenic plants over‐expressing H290N, which suggests that the holdase chaperone activity of AtPP5 is primarily responsible for AtPP5‐mediated thermotolerance.</P><P>Collectively, the results from this study provide the first evidence that AtPP5 performs multiple enzymatic activities that are mediated by conformational changes induced by heat‐shock stress.</P></P>
