      • Effect of Ionizing Radiation on Rat Tissue: Proteomic and Biochemical Analysis

        <P>Reactive oxygen species (ROS), generated by ionizing radiation, has been implicated in its effect on living tissues. We confirmed the changes in the oxidative stress markers upon irradiation. We characterized the changes in the proteome profile in rat liver after administering irradiation, and the affected proteins were identified by MALDI-TOF-MS and ESI-MS/MS. The identified proteins represent diverse sets of proteins participating in the cellular metabolism. Our results demonstrated that proteomics analysis is a useful method for characterization of a global proteome change caused by ionizing radiation to unravel the molecular mechanisms involved in the cellular responses to ionizing radiation.</P>

        국립공원 아고산대 독립훼손지 복원식생 분포특성 및 관리방안

        본 연구는 독립훼손지 중 아고산대에 위치한 지리산국립공원 세석평전과 노고단 복원식생지를 대상으로 현존식생 분석 및 식생분포 특성을 파악하여 중장기적인 모니터링 및 관리방안 수립을 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 수행하였다. 현존식생 조사범위는 훼손지 일대 유역권분포 현황을 고려하여 설정하였으며, 세석평전 조사면적은 55,037㎡, 노고단 조사면적은 166,599㎡ 이었다. 세석평전은 초본층에 의한 식생피복도는 90% 이상 수준으로서 나지노출이 없었고, 관목층의 피복도가 60% 이상으로 안정화되어 있었다. 주요 출현수종은 구상나무, 사스래나무, 쇠물푸레나무, 철쭉, 털진달래, 붉은병꽃나무 등 식재수종과 자연적으로 이입한 자생수종이 생육하고 있었다. 노고단은 신갈나무, 호랑버들, 철쭉, 털진달래, 미역줄나무 등이 우점하는 관목식생지가 52%로 가장 넓게 분포하고 있었고, 전반적으로 식생활착 상태가 양호하였다. 노고단의 원식생은 신갈나무군락으로 추정되었고, 군부대철거지에는 귀화식물이 분포하고 있기 때문에 적극적인 관리가 필요하였다. 연구대상지는 장기적으로 주변 자연식생과 조화로운 식생경관으로 발달할 것으로 예측되었다. 향후 훼손지 복원모델은 인근 지역의 원식생을 고려하여 설정해야 할 것이지만, 복원 달성 목표는 실현가능한 수준의 목표를 설정해야 할 것이다. This study was conducted to provide basic data for mid-to long-term monitoring and establishment of management plans by analyzing the existing vegetation and identifying the vegetation distribution characteristics for the restored vegetation in Nogodan and Seseokpyeongjeon in Jirisan National Park located in the subalpine zone among the independent damaged areas. Actual vegetation survey range was established in consideration of the distribution of the watershed around the damaged area. The surveyed area of Seseokpyeongjeon was 55,037㎡, and the surveyed area of Nogodan was 166,599㎡. In Seseokpyeongjeon, the vegetation coverage by the herbaceous layer was almost 90% or more, there was no bare exposure, and the coverage of the shrub layer was stabilized at 60% or more. The main emerging tree species were planted species such as Abies koreana, Betula ermanii, Fraxinus sieboldiana, Rhododendron schlippenbachii, Rhododendron mucronulatum var. ciliatum, and Weigela florida as well as natively migrated native species. In Nogodan, the shrub vegetation dominated by Quercus mongolica, Salix caprea, Rhododendron schlippenbachii, Rhododendron mucronulatum var. ciliatum, and Tripterygium regelii was the most widely distributed with 52% of the area, and the overall diet was good. The native vegetation of Nogodan was presumed to be a cypress colony. Naturalized plants were distributed in the military base demolition site, so active management was required. The study site was predicted to develop into a vegetation landscape in harmony with the surrounding natural vegetation in the long term. In the future, the restoration model for damaged areas should be set in consideration of the native vegetation of the nearby area, but the goal to achieve restoration should be set at a feasible level.

        Body temperature is controlled by thermoregulatory center of the hypothalamus. We report a case of 24 years old man with central fever. He was subjected to a partial excision of pituitary tumor compressing optic chiasm four years ago. He has received hormonal therapy for panhypothyroidism after removal of pituitary tumor. And He received gamma knife operation for partially contrast-enhancing masses in suprasellar and both hypothalamic areas that is probably postoperatively remnant or recurrent tumor of pituitary adenoma. One year after gamma knife operation, he presented with a febrile syndrome of unknown origin including rhabdomyolysis. All usual investigations proved negative. We diagnosed him as central fever with rhabdomyolysis. He received medical ICU care with cooling bed, ice pack. And his symptom improved. Postoperative hyperthermia may result following resection of the pituitary tumor. When central fever is suspected taking note of past history, a quick recognition of course of fever can help reduce the using of unnecessary antibiotics and hospital stay.

        This paper used psychological variables to understand outbound tourists' purchase behavior on life-style and purchase-style. The purpose of this study is to analyze lifestyle and purchase-style types of outbound tourists. Also it is to see if there is any relationship between life-styles and purchase styles. The research Method includes literary studies and empirical studies. Using 240 questionnaire respondence of outbound tourists, author conducted factor and cluster analysis with one-way ANOVA analysis. The results are as follows. First, the segment-markets according to the life-styles of outbound of tourists turned out to be external/achivemental, indivisualistic and traditional types. Second, purchase-style types of outbound tourists showed advertisement-purchase, safe-purchase, practical-purchase and loyal-purchase. Third, it reveals that there is difference between purchase styles and life styles. In conclusion, purchase-style variable as well as life-style one counts very usefully to be aware of the purchase behavior of outbound tourists.

        치과용 디지털 색상 분석용 기기의 정확성과 재현 능력에 대한 평가

        본 연구에서는 치과용 디지털 색상 분석기기 중 하나인 ShadeScan (CYNOVAD, Montreal, Canada)의 색상 분석의 정확성과 재현 능력을 평가하였다. 균일한 치아 배열을 가진 20대 성인 남자 8명과 여자 8명의 상악 인상을 고무인 상제 (Exaflex, GC, Japan)를 이용하여 채득하고, 인상에 A2 색상의 임시 크라운 제작용 자가중합형 레진을 주입하여 치아 모델을 완성하고, ShadeScan을 이용해 각 치아의 영상을 얻어 컴퓨터의 ShadeScan 프로그램으로 분석하였다. 그리고 측정 결과의 재현 능력를 평가하기 위해 2개의 치아 모델을 임의로 선택하여 각 치아마다 10회의 색상 측정을 시행하여 분석 결과를 비교하였다. 또한 분석된 영상의 동일 shade 간의 색차를 확인하기 위해 광중합 복합레진인 Gradia Direct (GC, Tokyo, Japan)와 shade guide의 CIE L^(*)a^(*)b^(*) 값을 백색과 흑색 배경판 상에서 spectrophotometer (Spectrolino, GretagMacbeth, USA)로 측정하고, ShadeScan에 의해 동일한 shade로 분석된 shade guide간의 색차를 계산하여 다음의 결과를 얻었다. 모든 치아에서 모델 제작 재료와 동일한 A2 색상므로 분석된 경우는 없었으며, 개개의 치아에서 전체 순면이 동일한 색상으로 분석된 예는 없었다. 또한 동일한 치아군에서 치아의 크기 , 형태 , 순면의 굴곡 등에 따라 서로 다른 색상 분포를 보였다. 재현성 평가에서 각 치아의 중앙부는 비교적 일정한 재현성출 보였으나, 절단부와 주변 부위는 재현성이 낮았으며, 동일한 shade로 분석된 shade guide 간에는 3 이상의 색차 (ΔE^(*))를 보였다. 이상의 결과는 치과용 디지털 색상 분석기기는 비록 높은 재현 능력은 가지고 있지만 정확성에 오류가 있음을 시사하며 , 따라서 이러한 기기를 이용한 색상 분석 시 좀 더 세밀한 주의와 다른 방법의 추가 사용이 필요하리라 사료된다. This study was done to evaluate the reliability of the digital color analysis system (ShadeScan, CYNOVAD, Montreal, Canada) for dentistry. Sixteen tooth models were made by injecting the A2 shade chemical cured resin for temporary crown into the impression acquired from 16 adults. Surfaces of the model teeth were polished with resin polishing cloth. The window of the ShadeScan handpiece was placed on the labial surface of tooth and tooth images were captured, and each tooth shade was analyzed with the ShadeScan software. Captured images were selected in groups, and compared one another. Two models were selected to evaluate repeatability of ShadeScan, and shade analysis was performed 10 times for each tooth. And, to ascertain the color difference of same shade code analyzed by ShadeScan, CIE L^(*)a^(*)b^(*)values of shade guide of Gradia Direct (GC, Tokyo, Japan) were measured on the white and black background using the Spectrolino (GretagMacbeth, USA), and Shade map of each shade guide was captured using the ShadeScan. There were no teeth that were analyzed as A2 shade and unique shade. And shade mapping analyses of the same tooth revealed similar shade and distribution except incisal third. Color difference (ΔE^(*)) among the Shade map which analyzed as same shade by ShadeScan were above 3. Within the limits of this study, digital color analysis instrument for dentistry has relatively high repeatability, but has controversial in accuracy.

        The gastrointestinal involvement in rheumatoid arthritis may be broad and includes many causes: drug induced colitis, colitis associated with infectious agents, vasculitis in gut, autoimmune disease located in gut. Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic multisystemic disease of unknown cause. Although a number of mixed autoimmue disease exist, there were rare reports about Ulcerative colitis with Rheumatoid arthritis associated. We report one case of Rheumatoid arthritis patient who diagnosed as Ucerative colitis by colonoscopic and histologic finding with review of literature.

      • 자동차 허브 내·외경 측정 시스템 개발

        An automobile hub is composed of a hollow cylindrical part with inner and outer diameters. These hub diameters must be precise, as any irregularities in them (diameters) can influence/degrade the motion of an automobile with this problem. Highly accurate and reliable hub inner and outer diameters measurement systems are therefore required for inspection of the diameters. In this research, an automobile hub inner and outer diameters measurement system has been developed and tested. The system consists of measuring heads with LVDT sensors, and associated software for automatic measurement and calibration of the diameters and the sensors respectively. The system has been evaluated in comparison with an existing measurement system, and the following outcomes have been achieved; ·Improved and guaranteed quality and reliability ·Increased productivity and cost reduction These results prove the system developed in this research to be suitable for automobile hub inspection.

      • 非企業組織의 마아케팅導入에 관하여

        Marketing has had a short history of some 80 years since its beginning in 1900. One of the marketing controversies, which developed continuously in its research process, is "Broadening the Concetp of Marketing". The traditional conception of marketing holds that marketing is essentially a business activity directed toward meeting the needs of customers for goods and services, and that to expand its meaning beyond business is to dilute marketing's true purpose and effectiveness. In contrast, advocating broadening the concept of marketing, Kotler and Levy(1969) instead noted that "the choice facing those who manage nonbusiness organizations is not whether to market or not market, for no organization can aviod marketing. The choice is whether to do it well or poorly, and on this necessity the case for organizational marketing is basically founded." They further proposed that every organization produces a "product" including at least physical products, services, persons, organizations, and/or ideas. Equally, every organization has "consumer groups" broadly defind to include clients, trustees or directors, active publics, and general public. Despite earlier controversy, few marketers dispute the relevance of marketing to the management of nonprofit organizations. From a managerial standpoint, marketing concepts and tools can be applied to nonbusiness organizations as well as business organizations. Many articles followed in the 1970s, reporting applications of marketing techonology to such areas as college recruiting, fund raising, membership development, population problems, and religion. In 1975, a comprehensive textbook on marketing for nonprofit organizations became available and Nickels (1978) published a general marketing textbook giving equal attention to business and nonbusiness marketing. It appears that the age of marketing for nonprofit organizations has come. According to profit/nonprofit basis, all the organizations in a society can be divided into the two types of organizations; profit (business) organizations and nonprofit (nonbusiness) organizations. Different organizations as well as different goals and products may distinguish business, nonbusiness, and social marketing from each other. While business marketing normally involves a business organization in pursuit of economic profit by a business organization through the marketing of traditional goods and sevices, nonbusiness marketing is the application of marketing tools and concepts to nonbusiness problems and opportunities. Social marketing refers to the interrelationships between marketing and the societal system, including the impacts of business marketing on society as well as the application of marketing tools and concepts to social problems and opportunites. Both business and nonbusiness marketing are subconcepts of general marketing and the scope of social marketing is partially overlapping that of business and nonbusiness marketing. Even though the concepts and techniques in both business and nonbusiness marketing are basically the same, nonbusiness marketing has several uniqueness. Consequently, creativity and imagination are required to perceive how to apply the business marketing concepts to nonbusiness organizations. Nonbusiness marketing has following unique aspects compared with business marketing: ㆍThe objective of nonbusiness marketing is not just stimulating demand, but may be reducing or destroying it. ㆍNonbusiness organizations are often more dependent on several publics where as business is usually considered respobsible to first stockholders. ㆍThe nature of nonbusiness activity is more socially sensitive and coutroversal and, therefore, more subject to environmental constraints. ㆍThe sensitive nature of many nonbusiness "products" may make information planning and assembling more difficult than for business. ㆍProducts are more often intangible such as marketing of "ideas". ㆍNonbusiness marketing is much more than just nonbusiness advertising. ㆍThe "price" of nonbusiness products is often nonmonetary. ㆍperformance measures for control purposes may be more difficult to develop due to the absence of tangible sales data. Many nonbusiness organizations such as colleges, hospitals, and other institutions have been applying marketing concepts and tools to improve their organization goals. One of the successful cases is the family planning program of Lusiana state. According to Al-Ansary and Kramer, the success of the program is partly the result of: (1) the adoption of a consumer-oriented philosophy in service delivery (2) the recognition of marking as a process with many participants (3) the recognition of marketing as integrated effort involving the design of marketing mix (4) the use of a generic "human services" definition rather than a myopic "family planning" definition of the program's services, etc. The interesting thing about marketing is that all organization do it whether they know it or not. According to Kotler, the chief executives of nonbusiness organization can consider six approches to improve their marketing effectiveness: (1) marketing committee, (2) task forces, (3) marketing specialist firms, (4) marketing consultant, (5) marketing director, and (6) marketing vice president. The approches represent alternative ones to the introduction of marketing into nonprofit organizations rather than a rigid sequence of steps. Nonbusiness organizations would benefit from a more conscious awareness and practice of the marketing concept. It may lead them to place clients ahead of products and integrate their efforts to develop relevant want-satisfaction. Thus, the nonbusiness organizations in Korea should enhance their effectiveness through introduction of marketing concepts and techonology into them.

      • 초음파를 이용한 토출관 접합계면 평가기술 개발

        Ultrasonic testing method has been developed to evaluate adhesive layers in blast tube for the reliability of the rocket. The main objective of the present work was to find debonding and uncharged state between steel and FRP layers. We distinguish the debonding and uncharged state using the resonance method in the adhesive layers. It was found that the higher magnitude of ultrasound is reflected for the uncharged area in frequency domain, and shown good agreements with experimental results. The traditional ultrasonic pulse-echo method offers good implements for the distinction debonding area. The nondestructive testing results were compared with the micrography of destruective testing. As results, ultrasonic testing could be utilized for the evaluation of adhesive layer in the blast tube.
