      • Adaptive Multi-class Support Vector Machine for Microarray Classification and Gene Selection

        Juntao Li,Yingmin Jia,Junping Du,Fashan Yu 제어로봇시스템학회 2009 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2009 No.8

This paper proposes an adaptive multi-classs upport vector machine for simultaneous microarray classification and gene selection. By evaluating the gene ranking significance, the adaptive multi-class support vector machine is shown to encourage an adaptive grouping effect in the process of building classifiers, thus leading as parse multi-classifiers with enhanced interpretability. Based on a reasonablec orrelation between the two regularization parameters, an efficient solution path algorithm is developed for solving the proposed support vector machine. Experiments performed on the leukaemia data set are provided to verify the obtained results.

Simultaneous isolation of cellulose and lignin from wheat straw and catalytic conversion to valuable chemical products

        Yu Bowei,Fan Guozhi,Zhao Sijiu,Lu Yuchan,He Qiao,Cheng Qunpeng,Yan Juntao,Chai Bo,Song Guangsen 한국응용생명화학회 2021 Applied Biological Chemistry (Appl Biol Chem) Vol.64 No.1

Convertible cellulose and lignin were simultaneously isolated from wheat straw using a two-stage process via simply varying temperature and H2SO4 concentration. At the first-stage, cellulose was obtained by pretreating wheat straw at lower temperature and acid concentration using an organosolv process. The purity, yield and recovery rate of cellulose reached 86.8 wt%, 55.2 and 92.8% at 150 °C with 1 wt% H2SO4. At the second stage, the residual liquid was further treated at higher temperature and acid concentration, giving 17.4% lignin yield with 86.6% recovery rate and 93.2 wt% purity at 180 °C with 1.5 wt% H2SO4. The conversion of the as-isolated cellulose and lignin into chemicals was further investigated. The total yield of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural and glucose derived from wheat straw cellulose reached 82.5%, and 18.3% yield of monophenolic compounds from lignin were obtained, respectively. These results indicated that the two-stage process was effective for obtaining high-quality cellulose and lignin from wheat straw. Both of them displayed excellent convertible property.

Reporting quality of economic evaluations of the negotiated Traditional Chinese Medicines in national reimbursement drug list of China: A systematic review

        Yan Juntao,Bao Shiyi,Liu Liu,Zhang Yu-Qing,Ming Jian,Wei Yan,Chen Yingyao 한국한의학연구원 2023 Integrative Medicine Research Vol.12 No.1

Background: Traditional Medicine (TM) has a wide uptake in most countries. In China, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a common kind of primary health because of its beneficial effects. This review aimed to appraise the publication reporting quality of economic evaluations for selective TCM in the National Reimbursement Drug List (NRDL), Version 2020, based on the Consolidated Health Economic Evaluation Reporting Standards (CHEERS) statement. Methods: Electronic databases were searched for economic evaluation that supported the TCM negotia- tions in NRDL (2020 version) published from 2001 to 2021, including PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, CNKI, WanFang, and SinoMed. The CHEERS statement was used to appraise the reporting quality of in- cluded TCM economic evaluations. Results: A total of 360 articles were retrieved, but only 38 economic evaluations met the inclusion crite- ria. None of the articles reported all items in the CHEERS checklist. The mean score of included articles is low at 10.93 ±2.62, with an average scoring rate of 51.31 ±10.53%. The least reported items included: “Characterizing heterogeneity,”“Conflicts of interest”, “Discount rate,”and “Study perspective,”with a re- porting rate of 0.00%, 5.26%, 7.89%, and 15.79%, respectively. Conclusion: An upward trend occurred in the quantity and quality of the economic evaluation publica- tions of TCM in China. TCM economic evaluations are still at an early stage, with an urgent need for improving reporting quality. It may result from research experiences or different ideas between TCM and Western Medicine. Adhering to reporting guidelines like CHEERS and educating economic evaluation in- vestigators can improve TCM economic evaluations’ reporting quality.

Thermal Conductivity of Loess: Experimental Studies and Empirical Model

        Jingjing Wang,Juntao Deng,Jianguo Zheng,Tiehang Wang,Yongtang Yu 대한토목학회 2024 KSCE Journal of Civil Engineering Vol.28 No.2

Soil thermal conductivity is an important indicator for developing and utilizing geothermal resources. In this study, the impact of underground environmental factors on the thermal conductivity of loess was explored by studying the thermal conductivity of saturated and unsaturated loess under varying water content, dry density, and temperature using the Hot Disk thermal constant analyzer. The results show that the thermal conductivity of unsaturated undisturbed and remolded loess presents different growth trends as the water content increases. When the water content is less than 9%, the thermal conductivity of undisturbed soil increases slowly. The thermal conductivity of unsaturated loess gradually increases with temperature. When the temperature rises above 30oC, the latent heat transfer of steam gradually strengthens, accelerating the increase in thermal conductivity, which is most noticeable at intermediate saturation. However, the thermal conductivity of saturated loess rises slowly as the temperature rises. A weighted geometric average model is proposed in this study to predict the thermal conductivity of loess under temperature conditions, considering the effects of soil water content, dry density, and mineral content. The model accuracy was corroborated by the measured soil thermal conductivity and the data collected from six regions.

      • Effect of control route on the unstart/restart characteristics of an over-under TBCC inlet

        Li, Nan,Chang, Juntao,Tang, Jingfeng,Yu, Daren,Bao, Wen,Song, Yanping Techno-Press 2018 Advances in aircraft and spacecraft science Vol.5 No.4

Numerical simulations have been conducted to study the unstart/restart characteristics of an over-under turbine-based combined-cycle propulsion system (TBCC) inlet during the inlet transition phase. A dual-solution area exists according to the Kantrowitz theory, in which the inlet states may be different even with the same input parameters. The entire transition process was divided into five stages and the unstart/restart hysteresis loop for each stage was also obtained. These loops construct a hysteresis surface which separates the operating space of the engine into three parts: in which a) inlet can maintain a started state; b) inlet keeps an unstarted state; c) inlet state depends on its initial state. During the transition, the operation of the engine follows a certain order with different backpressures and splitter angles, namely control route, which may result in disparate inlet states. Nine control routes with different backpressures and transition stages were designed to illuminate the route-dependent behavior of the inlet. The control routes operating towards the unstart boundary can make the inlet transit from a started state into an unstarted one. But operating backward the same route cannot make the inlet restart, additional effort should be made.

Effect of Ionic Liquids on the Fibril-Formation and Gel Properties of Grass Carp (Ctenopharyngodon idellus) Skin Collagen

        Zhongwei Zhai,Haibo Wang,Benmei Wei,Peiwen Yu,Chengzhi Xu,Lang He,Juntao Zhang,Yuling Xu 한국고분자학회 2018 Macromolecular Research Vol.26 No.7

Self-assembled environment of collagen is one of the important factors for improving and regulating the properties of collagen-based biomaterials. This study aimed to investigate the effect of ionic liquids (ILs) on the fibril-formation and gel properties of grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idellus) skin collagen. Fibrillogenic kinetics analysis showed that the collagen self-assembly can be suppressed by the introduction of ILs, and the inhibitory effect is influenced by concentration and types of ILs. Scanning electron microscopy test indicated that the assembled collagen fibrils in the presence of ILs had bigger diameters than that in the conventional buffer. Differential scanning calorimetry analysis revealed that the thermal stability of collagen fibrils can be significantly increased when self-assembly is performed in the presence of ILs. Moreover, the introduction of ILs enhanced the mechanical strength of collagen gels. Finding from this work provides a new idea for improving the performance of fish-sourced collagen biomaterials.

Loss and Efficiency Analysis of the Brushless Direct Current Motor with an Amorphous Stator Core

        Lai Yifan,Hu Xiaolu,Shi Guibing,Yu Juntao,Wang Li,Gao Zhifeng 대한전기학회 2023 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.18 No.3

Due to the demand for energy conservation, the loss and efficiency of a brushless direct current (BLDC) motor is investigated. In order to improve the motor efficiency, we make efforts to reduce the loss by replacing the silicon steel (SS) stator with amorphous metal (AM) stator and improving the motor design. The motor performance is analyzed by simulations and experiments, and the processing influence on loss of AM material is also considered. It shows that the performance of the AM core deteriorates due to the stress introduced during the core processing, but the utilization of AM material and the optimization design can improve the motor efficiency by 4.76%. In addition, the weight of the motor is reduced by 11.36% than that of the initial motor. This research can provide a reference for the initial design and performance evaluation of AM BLDC motors.

Effects of a functional fatty acid blend on growth performance, intestinal morphology, and serum profiles in weaned piglets

        Wang Huakai,Wang Yanan,Zhang Yu,Li Juntao,Mi Yihai,Xue Yongqiang,Li Jiaan,Ma Yongxi 아세아·태평양축산학회 2023 Animal Bioscience Vol.36 No.5

Objective: The objective of this study was to determine whether dietary supplementation with a functional fatty acid blend (FA) that contains 31.4% butyric acid and 4.99% mediumchain FA improve growth performance, antioxidant capacity, immunity status, and antiinflammatory ability in weaned piglets. Methods: One hundred and forty-four healthy piglets (Duroc×Landrace×Yorkshire) with an average body weight (BW) of 7.98±3.43 kg were randomly divided into three groups with six replicate pens and eight piglets per pen: Normal control (NC): a corn-soybean basal diet; FA1: a basal diet supplemented with 1,000 mg/kg of a functional FA; FA2: a basal diet supplemented with 2,000 mg/kg of a functional FA. The experiment lasted for 28 d. On d 14 and 28, one piglet in each pen from NC and FA2 groups was randomly selected for antioxidative index and immunoglobulins. On d 28, one piglet in each pen from NC and FA2 groups was randomly selected for intestinal morphology and inflammatory factor. Results: We observed that FA supplementation linearly increased (p<0.05) average daily gain and the final BW. There was higher (p<0.05) catalase on d 14, and immunoglobulin (Ig) A and IgM on d 28 in piglets supplemented with FA2 than in the NC group. Moreover, dietary FA2 reduced (p<0.05) crypt depth of ileum in piglets. The concentrations of tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-8, and IL-10 in jejunum were lower (p<0.05) in the FA2 group compared with the NC group. Conclusion: Therefore, the overall results suggests that the FA may help to improve gut health, antioxidant status, and immune parameters resulting in the improvement of growth performance.
